About Clive Sawyer
My wife and I have lived in this area of France for several years leaving the UK for a quieter life in the sun. We wake up every morning and thankful we choose so wisely to have such beautiful surroundings and lovely local people. We are always on call making sure every thing is perfect for our guests to enjoy their holiday.
Clive Sawyer purchased this Apartment in 2008
Why Clive Sawyer chose Lodève
The villa is set in the hill facing south overlooking the town of Lodeve. It is a delightful typically French small town surrounded by some of the most stunning scenery in France. The nearby motorway makes it ideal to get around to the coastal resorts, lakes and the many sites of interest as well as the fascinating city of Montpellier.

Beautifully appointed apartment in good location for the region
The apartment was one of the nicest we have stayed in in France. There was plenty of space and comfort for us and two teenagers. We had a couple of days of unseasonably cool weather for August but it was easy to chase the sun down to the beaches at Montpellier. There are lots of alternatives to sunbathing - caves, castles and pretty towns and villages to visit. The times for using the pool are managed and that is made clear on arrival, which helped us to plan our days out. The pool is large, has a steep drop to the deep end - something to bear in mind with smaller children. Even when the family using the other apartment was also at the pool, there was still plenty of comfortable seating available. The apartment's outdoor seating area is sheltered from the breeze and is screened - which does mean you can't enjoy the stunning views from it, but it's still a pleasant, private spot. We plan to return to the region and would recommend the apartment.
A comfortable apartment with absolutely stunning views over Lodeve and the surrounding hills. A very steep walk into town - and back!
The town is non-touristy with a good variety of shops, bars and restaurants. Lots of easy parking. Very well placed to get on the motorway to explore the surrounding area. Lac Salagou, Montpellier, Millau Viaduct and the Camargue are all within reach to explore.
A lovely holiday base.
A wonderful place to stay to explore this glorious
We were delighted with our stay in Lodeve. Our apartment was well appointed, light and airy and really thoughtfully decorated. It was perfect for us and our two teenage children. We felt very welcomed by Clive and contact with him throughout the booking process was really easy, the information that was provided about the locational, region and places of interest was fantastic and really useful throughout our stay. The pool and surroundings were a perfect place to relax when not out exploring this fabulous region of France. It was a shame we couldn't stay longer.
A really enjoyable holiday
The apartment was spacious, well and thoughtfully equipped with lovely views and a sunny and private terrace. A holiday essential for us is somewhere that is within walking distance of a restaurant or two and this apartment has several restaurants about 20 minutes walk away. Of these we thought Terre et Mer down by the river was the best. We went to do some hiking and the whole area has many stunning old trails, all of which are well marked.
Relaxing revisit to Lodeve
We found the property to be clean and very well appointed. The beds, sofa etc. were all very comfortable and oven was the most efficient we had found in a rental property. The owners showed a great respect for our privacy but were there and helpful when we needed them. We had visited Lodeve before and it is a pleasant, untouristy, town with a good market on Saturdays and with a good supply of restaurants and cafes. We were particularly interested in the Causse du Larzac with its dramatic scenery and its many Templars and Hospitallers sites. The pool at the property was one of the best I had encountered.
The setting is fabulous...stunning views of the town and surrounding countryside. So much to see , and being so close to the motorway trips to the beaches , Montpellier etc are only 45 mins.
Accommodation is very comfortable with everything you would want .
Thoroughly enjoyed our week and will hopefully return soon.
