This alpine chalet is ideally situated for access to the Portes du Soleil - the largest ski domain in the world with 650 kms of piste covering 15 villages, 8 in France and 7 in Switzerland. In summer the beautiful Lac Leman is just 30 mins away.

About Linda Willcocks

We have skied the Portes du Soleil for over 25 years and still love it. it's so vast that we don't get bored - with over 650 kms of piste that would be difficult! We started skiing over 35 years ago and we have loved skiing in other resorts but this was our favourite. So much so that 13 years ago we purchased Chalet Piplin and discovered that we love the mountains in spring, summer, autumn and winter. There's so much to do and see, and now that we older we fully appreciate just relaxing on the balcony and drinking in the views and tranquillity.

There is so much to do and see pristine landscapes, unspoilt villages, rock climbing, taking a ride on the Fantasticable, endless winter activities and summer too with Lac Leman just 30 mins away. With ample parking both summer and winter, this alpine chalet is situated within a short distance from either Abondance or Chapelle d'Abondance and just 10 mins from Chatel with all the piste access that the villages provide and just a nine hour drive from Calais or 75 mins from Geneva.

Filled with character and charm the chalet is beautifully furnished. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast with views of sun drenched mountains, relax on the balcony or have dinner with friends in front of an open fire what better way to spend your hard earned vacation time! With two large balconies and a garden with terrace, BBQ, outdoor seating and table and chairs the spectacular views can be appreciated at your leisure. Ample comfortable seating for all guests in the lounge with library, DVD library,UK TV, DVD player, WIFI.

Perfect, traditional chalet for families

Fabulous home-from-home chalet that has all you require for an easy stay with children. We slept 11 comfortably and the 3 bathrooms ensured no waiting. A well structured garden gave piste relief for the little ones. The ski area is superb and the new lifts further complete the area. Piplin is a hidden gem and must for any family / families wanting to explore Chatel

Skiing in February half term

Our group consisted of four adults and two children. We drove from Chambery airport and found the property easily. The chalet has a lovely, homely feel to it with fantastic facilities (no queuing for bathroom in the morning!) and beautiful views all around. Loads of books, games and DVDs for entertainment (if you have time to use them) and everything you need for cooking your own meals. We had our own transport and feel that this is vital for getting to and from the skiing and getting groceries. The property is everything and more than its description on the website. Owners could not have been more friendly or helpful and we're looking forward to returning in the summer.

perfect location

We had a very relaxing stay at this lovely chalet. Plenty of skiing a short drive away & some lovely restaurants in the area. The chalet has everything you could possibly need & a warm homely atmosphere. Highly recommend & we will be back!

Wonderful chalet - very much recommended!

A wonderful chalet in a fantastic location. Really cozy, great views of the mountains, the most awesome log fire, and plenty of space for good size group and/or families. Just a short drive to the main ski slopes/Portes du Soleil at Pre La Joux, OR you can drive just a few minutes and ski the local ski areas which are really good e.g. Cret Beni, Chapple D'Abondance. The owners are great - always keen to help and give advice, really knowledgeable of the area as this is their home for much of the year. Very much recommended!

Autumn Break

My wife, 2 daughters (22 & 21) and myself had a superb short (4 day) family break at Chalet Piplin in September. The chalet was lovely - clean, spacious, homely and also luxurious with plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms and eating areas (in and out). It felt decadent to wake up to such lovely views across the valley, green fields, trees and mountain tops, all visible from the terrace while having your breakfast. We were certainly lucky with the weather for our autumn break and did 2 long, tiring but exhilarating walks up nearby hills / mountains! The views were spectacular with Mont Blanc and the Eiger visible to us. Richebourg is ideally situated to go along the valley to other beautiful small towns (e.g. Chatel), as well as for popping over the Swiss border or else climbing even higher in altitude to nearby Morzine. We will certainly be looking to return soon.

Found a little gem

This is a lovely chalet, very spacious with a cosy feel to it. The kitchen is well equipped, ideal for self-catering but there is a pizzeria in walking distance for the nights we didn't fancy cooking and just wanted to sit in front of the log fire. Our children felt instantly at home with their own large play area with plenty of toys and games to keep them amused. The location is brilliant with the large Portes du Soleil ski area only a short drive away. The owners are very friendly, very knowledgeable about the area and recommended where to hire our skies and book ski lessons. We had a superb time and would definitely come back.
