About Mrs Bronwen Williams

Check out our web site for an in depth choice of dates and rates.

Wyndham and Bronwen Williams are delighted to welcome guests to our special holiday cottage in Ludlow.

We purchased Churchwarden in 2011 after wanting a residence in Ludlow for years.

We are experienced in the holiday cottage business running another enterprise 10 miles out of Ludlow at our busy family run 'Tugford Farm'.

Although we are not immediately on hand guests can be assured that every attention to details has been completed.

Our aim is that all guests enjoy a relaxed and enjoyable stay at Churchwarden Cottage and discover all that Ludlow and the surrounding countryside has to offer.

Why Mrs Bronwen Williams chose Abdon

South Shropshire takes some beating! We consider ourselves to be very luck to live in such a beautiful place.

I'm often asked if I take it all for granted but I can truly say 'never'.

My favourite place is the Brown Clee Hill. It's magical during May and June when the evenings go on and on. Riding one of my lovely horses up on the top is heaven itself and Red Kites often soar by.

If you seek tranquility then here in the Corvedale it can be found.

Just like everyone else we're busy cramming as much into our days but our surroundings certainly make it much easier to cope with.

We are surrounded by farmers markets and fine fayre. Good local pubs and great food.

What makes this barn unique

Eating out is a must whilst staying with us. The Tally Ho Pub is only 2 miles away so a brisk walk gets you there in good time and with a good appetite, which you will certainly need. Portions are generous and the meals are traditional and tasty.

Locally brewed beer from the Ludlow Brewery is served along with some lovely wines etc.

The Crown County Inn at Munslow is also a must. More expensive but a treat and oh their puddings!

Slightly further afield is the wonderful market town of Ludlow. A foodies haven. Well documented over the years for its restaurants and great local butchers.

Market days are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays with art and craft stalls on Sundays.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our group of friends and family have just returned from a break away at The Meal House and have had a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing break in this corner of beautiful Shropshire. The accommodation was lovely, clean and comfortable. The icing on the cake being the hot tub where we relaxed after days out and looked up at the stars in the sky...heaven! Great days out in Ludlow, Bridgnorth and Ironbridge are only a short drive away and there are some lovely walks straight from the gate of the farm up to lovely countryside which were just what the doctor ordered.

Stayed with friends, horses and bikes for a long weekend on a self catering basis in Trap Cottage plus 1 extra room. Lovely countryside, great for riding bikes or horses or walking. The accommodation for both humans and horses was good. But what really makes it are the friendly, welcoming and very relaxed hosts, Bronwen and Wyndham. Loved it. Definitely will visit again

Outside: The joy of staying on our working rural farm is the opportunity to take advantage of the farm itself. The Williams family have farmed Tugford Farm since 1949. It is a mixed arable farm of 320 acres of milling wheat, spring barley, beans and 450 breeding ewes with the addition of a livery yard. The decision to expand into the tourism business was made in 2004 and the rest is history. We have two sons, Edward and Philip. Two terriers, Widget and Big Bill. One black Labrador, Anna. Four horses, Megan, Coral, Ben and Roy. We welcome horses among our guests too, catered for on our livery yard. Our aim is to extend our love of South Shropshire to our guests and hope they go home having enjoyed a warm welcome and relaxed stay. To that end we have a farm trail for all the family to enjoy. A route map is available and includes descriptions of what you might see along the way. Whether walking, cycling or horse riding the great South Shropshire outdoors really is on your door step.
