Wonderful beachfront apartment with stunning, uninterrupted views over beautiful Javea Bay. Fabulous location with the beach just 25 metres away and an easy flat walk to a great choice of shops, bars and restaurants. The port area is just 10 minutes walk, the main beach area (Arenal) is 20/25 minutes flat walk in the opposite direction....or head up (hill) to Javea's historic old town (20/25 minutes walk). Alternatively, bike hire is readily available. There is a large communal pool, with the apartment's balcony looking over the pool to the sea beyond. The apartment faces East (morning sun and afternoon shade), ideal for breakfast whilst watching the sun rise...and sipping sundowners as the shadows start to lengthen and you are busy trying to decide which of the many restaurants you will be dining in that evening. For days out, Benidorm with its theme parks is 40km and Valencia with its City of Arts and Sciences is 1-1.5 hour's drive away.

About Andy Edwards

Andy manages bookings on behalf of the owner (and mother-in-law), Eileen, who purchased the apartment in 1989 and retired there in 1993. At the time, Eileen lived in Saudi Arabia, where her husband Alan was an engineer. They then decided to look for a retreat in Spain. First, after weeks of looking, they found Javea (Xabia), a modest sized village under the gaze of Montgo mountain and fronted by a beautiful bay - and then they found the apartment. Perfectly located right on the beachfront, in a great complex which offered them everything they could want. So, for 25 years the apartment has served as home to Eileen and as holiday destination for family and friends. Now back in the UK, the apartment is available for others to enjoy as much as Eileen has.

Notes on accommodation: The apartment can be heated in winter (cooler months) with reversible air conditioning units and the lounge log burner. Private, secure/gated, designated parking area. Communal bike shed for residents use. Note: the beach road has a bicycle path for safe riding. Bike hire is readily available at nearby shops. Sorry, no pets allowed. Outside: Large communal pool (approx. 12 x 8 m), gated access, with upper sun terrace (with sea views) and grassy area at side of pool. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen included....also beach towels (save on luggage space !). Towels changed weekly. Apartment cleaned prior to each arrival. Extra cleaning available on request. Other: Private rooftop sun terrace with 2 x loungers.

Beautiful spot in a beautiful place

We have stayed in Javea many times as my brother lives close by the pictures for this apartment do not really do it justice - the sea view was amazing - the apartment extremely spacious - beds comfortable and the communal pool nearby larger than the pictures suggest with sunbathing areas. We rented sun beds in a perfect spot across the road (Monto de bongo), chilled vibes etc which charged €10 per bed but provided drinks to the same value, so basically free - we love walking particularly past the very impressive houses to the arenal and also the apartment was perfectly located near the port with various lovely tapas bars etc - also we were there for the fiestas really not to be misssed the parades with processions of gladiator clad like men and woman a bit like game of thrones and so impressive the atmosphere was electric - lovely spot great holiday can't wait to go back

Relaxing break in lovely Javea

Just back from our 3rd visit to this property. Its location is ideal, being about 40 yards from the sea and an easy walk both to the port and the beach. A very spacious apartment, well equipped, with a private roof terrace, and a lovely balcony for watching the world go by. The secure parking is a bonus. Plenty of restaurants within a 10 to 15 minute walk.

Our stay in Javea

This is the second stay in this apartment and we thoroughly enjoyed it again. The apartment is clean and comfortable and in a very convenient location with beautiful views across the sea. The whole area is very clean and the local people very friendly. We have already booked to go back next year to avoid disappointment. I totally recommend this apartment to anyone whether you want to having a relaxing holiday or to travel out and about.

A bit dated, great location, though a bit noisy

Location is great, half way between the sandy beach and the port beach, directly opposite the beach club, La Siesta (which is very loud a weekends into the early hours of the night)

Also idea for eating out at night or taking a walk.

Apartment is a good size, nice and large, but a bit dated and tired.

One complaint, the Air Conditioning unit kept flooding the balconies if the water catch bottles were not emptied each day... this was a pain.

One suggestion, Their is a pool, but the lack of any sun-beds or chairs makes it less than usefull. Would be a nice idea to have some in the apartment for guests to use.

Great Location

Loved our 15 days in the apartment, met by Mari as soon as we arrived & our whole experience was pleasurable. Ideally located, especially for people watching, less than 10 minutes walk to the Port, with it's abundance of restaurants literally meters from the sea. We were very lucky as there was a festival (Christian & Moors) which spread over a number of days which provided great entertainment. 20 minutes walk in the opposite direction is the Arenal Beach area which also has numerous restaurants, again great for people watching & lovely food. The apartment is very spacious & most of all....has fantastic views over the Med. There is a parking space which is great as the parking can be quite stressful. Will definitely come again. Andy makes the whole booking experience very easy. I'm missing it already!!!

Fantastic

We have just returned today after spending two weeks for Christmas and New Year in this apartment what a wonderful place this is. I will start with the location - brilliant, views - fantastic, and the apartment is well equipped with everything you need for a wonderful holiday including off road parking. There is no doubt we will be returning.

Coast/Beach:

Beach is across the road from the apartment. This beach is mainly pebbles. There is a bar restaurant (seasonal) on the beach opposite, and during the summer a number of chiringuitos (temporary beach bars) pop up along the beachfront.

Javea's main Arenal beach is a 20/25 minute walk. This is a fabulous sandy beach, safe for children (there are lifeguards), and plenty of bars and restaurants for all ages. Watersports available (jet skis, pedal boat hire etc).

Travel:

Alicante airport is approx. 100km. Transfers by taxi, hire car or bus.

Valencia airport is approx. 110km. Transfers by taxi, hire car (no bus).

Distances:

Javea Old Town is 20/25 minutes walk. Interesting historic town with narrow cobbled streets, Sant Bertomeu (church), museums and quaint shops.

Nearest supermarket is 5 minutes walk, with plenty of others within a short distance.

Denia - with castle - ferry to Ibiza etc - 12km

Moraira - sandy beach - bars / restaurants - 15km

Benidorm - famous seaside town / city - 50km

Guadalest - interesting mountain town - 60km

Javea port operates boat trips (seasonal) to Denia, Calpe and Altea

Further Details:

Fiestas are commonplace in Javea, there is typically at least one a month, all featuring huge paellas and lots of flowers. The main festival, Fogueres de Sant Joan is held in June and has fireworks, flowers and lots of street fun. Other big festivals include 'Fiesta de Moros y Cristianos', held in July...'Virgen de los Angeles' in late August (live bands, dancing in the street, mass sharing of wine)...'Virgen de Loreto' in early September (bull-running on the jetty, processions with floats, firework displays and live music).

There is a large market held in Javea every Thursday. You can expect to find lots of bargains on rugs, clothes and jewellery. There is also a daily indoor food market selling local produce. Both markets can be found in the old historic town.

In the towns and villages around Javea you will likely find a market on most days, including:

Monday - Denia, Parcent, La Nucia, Callosa

Tuesday - Jalon, Altea

Wednesday - Benitatchell, Ondara, Teulada, Benidorm, Polop

Many of the local tavernas have live folk music to enjoy. There is also a great selection of cocktail bars and English pubs. Javea also has a number of nightclubs including Achill, Moli Blanc and La Noche.

For those looking for a quieter night out, there is a cinema (Cine Jayan) in the port area, which shows occasional English version movies (please check listings).

There are lots of interesting places in and around Javea and the Tourist Information Office (located on the seafront in the port area....about 500 metres from the apartment) is a great place to visit for advice on the where's and when's.
