The outside dining area provides the perfect setting in the evening to enjoy a Mojito or have nice romantic dinners. You can enjoy the tranquillity of having sun downers whilst watching the sunset over the Cretan sea! There is a choice of 2 apartments to rent. If the one you are viewing is fully booked we have another one. Please inquire. This ground floor apartment is situated in a small community of elegant villas and apartments, some set in their own private area with a large communal swimming pool, all properties offer traditional features with modern building specifications, creating a new yet rustic dwellings in a peaceful seaside setting. Panormo is very suitable for families of all ages.

About John Goodwin

My wife Robyn and I live in the South of England in the New Forest. We fell in love with Greece and the lifestyle 30 years ago. For the last 25 years I have run my own Greek property Consultancy. I have been involved in the design and construction of over 100 Greek properties specializing in Crete and the island of Alonissos.

Over the years we have gained a wealth of experience in the Greek property business. When the land became available it ticked all the boxes as the perfect location to build luxury high quality villas and apartments. My wife and I personally own 3 apartments at Panorama Seafront Homes which we rent out and take regularly holiday there with our family and friends. We kept the 3 apartments because we knew we could rent them out easily. Our plan is to live there for several months of the year when we retire. What makes this apartment unique

Panorama Seafront Homes stand just meters from the sea, You have the choice of swimming in the pool or at one of the sandy beaches. We just love the 10 minute evening stroll to enjoy the food in the wonderful traditional tavernas in Panormo village. The apartment where designed by one of Greece's top architects and the interiors are modern and fitted out to a very high standard that you wont see elsewhere in Crete. As most apartments are privately owned holiday homes the pool is never overcrowded, some days you get it all to your self.

We always take a trip by bus, ferry boat or hire car to Rethymno old town and harbour front is full of life and one can spend hours walking around the narrow lanes window shopping, there is a great choice of restaurants and lively bars to suit all tastes

Special interest holidays:

In the area you will find two diving schools with daily excursions to many different sites. Around Panarmo there are a number of planned hikes. There are also hikes through gorges like the Santa Maria Gorge. The almost guaranteed summer sunshine (on average Crete has more sunny days that any other Greek island) makes Crete the perfect destination for a beach and pool focused holiday. Hundreds of sandy beaches - some almost deserted even during the peak summer months - are a prefect retreat from the rigors of city life.

Coast/Beach:

There is a stony cove approx 150 meters away. There are 3 sandy beaches in Panormo village approx a 10 minute walk from the apartment.

Travel:

Airport: Iraklion 45 minutes or Chania 56 minutes by car.

Ferry Boat To Rethymno, arrives Panormo Harbour at 14:00

Taxi: To Rethymno - 20 minutes: 22 km

When you arrive at Hiraklion or Chania Airport there are always local taxis available to take you to Panormo Village.

Booking notes
Once a booking is agreed, a booking form will be emailed. The holiday will be held as a provisional booking for seven days, while the form is completed and returned, along with a deposit.

For holidays booked more than 8 weeks before the holiday start date, the deposit is 10% of the booking cost. The balance is payable 8 weeks before departure. For holidays booked within 8 weeks of the start date, the full value of the booking will be required. Payments can be made by Bank.

Changeover Day:
There is no specific changeover day. Arrival from 14.00 and departure before 10.30. You can use the pool and public bathroom during the day of arrival or departure.

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: Panormo, the local fishing village is within easy walking distance. The village has great tavernas, an Italian restaurant, several bars, a good bakery, butchers, supermarkets and a range of tourist shops. From most of the tavernas, one can look down over the beautiful village harbour and its stunning sandy beach. This is great if you have children, you can sit in a taverna having lunch while watching the kids swimming and playing on the beach. Custom designed furniture and comfortable mattresses make the accommodation functional and fun. Family friendly and suitable for children of all ages. Outside: Patio doors lead from the apartments living area to a large sun terrace area with table and chairs. The terrace enjoys great pool views and is ideal place to enjoy your morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. The terraced cascading swimming pool is is in 3 sections with waterfalls between. There is also a small children's paddling pool. There is a BBQ area approx 150 meters from the apartment just a few meters from the sea.

A spotlessly clean modern apartment in an idealic location.

We have just returned from a wonderful ten day holiday in Panormo and only wish it could have been longer.

We stayed in Apartment No 9, Panorama Seafront Homes, which is owned by John Goodwin. I phoned John prior to our visit with a minor query and found him extremely helpful. Following his written instructions, our journey to the property and entry into it was uneventful, even though it was late at night. The apartment itself far exceeded our expectations and we were glad we had arranged for food and drink to be there when we arrived. After a long journey, a quick snack, a Metaxa brandy and off to the comfortable beds.

In the light of the following morning our initial delight of the accommodation was enhanced even more. A large veranda was just a few steps from the swimming pool and the views to the hills were magnificent. And yes of course, there was the mandatory white church on top of one of the hills. We were indeed in Greece and in the best of the apartments in the complex.

We were very interested in snorkelling and the rocky coastline just a hundred metres away was ideal. Unfortunately for the first three days the sea was rough but it calmed down and we were able to snorkel for the rest of our stay. Not much in the way of big fish but sighting a couple of eels made it interesting.

Panormo village contains a number of tavernas which provided excellent food and very friendly service. Each meal finished with a copious quantity of complementary Cretan Raki. The local supermarket also provided all we needed on a daily basis. On one evening we were lucky to be able to join in a local festival. Singing, dancing and Greek music. A memorable night!

We visited Rethymno, Chania, Bali and Plakias which is on the south side of the island. We lost our way on the last visit and ended up on the most hairy roads, well more like tracks, imaginable. One spectacular site was travelling through Kotsyfou canyon.

Lastly I would like express our sincere thanks to John Goodwin for allowing us to remain in the apartment on our final day. It was extremely hot that day and it would have been most uncomfortable without the facilities of the apartment.

I have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation to anyone looking for a comfortable and quiet holiday.

Perfect Location for us

We spent three weeks in Panormos and moved to this apartment for our final week. It was exactly what we wanted - a few steps to the pool and a ten minute stroll into the village and nearby beach.

There were one or two relatively minor issues in the apartment which could be easily rectified:

There was a dustpan but no brush so if we had broken anything it would have been impossible to sweep up

There were no spare light bulbs and when we moved in there were three non working ones so we purchased replacements ourselves.

We were told there was a coffee machine but in fact it was a one person cafetière which for a 4/5 person apartment was not really enough.

There was no bread knife.

However - in no way did these minor details spoil our time there and we loved every minute. We will be back!

Clean and practical apartment with great pool, in good location

Overall our stay was really enjoyable - the location was good although a little further away from the town than we anticipated. The complex was ideal, very clean and perfect for our family and the pools were really well laid out. The air con was much appreciated in the apartment and we liked the fact that there was a breeze around the pool compared with outside the complex. We felt there could be more kitchen equipment - the toaster wasn't really suitable for a family and there weren't enough utensils. We were disappointed when we arrived to find that the wrong groceries had been delivered to us - mostly because there was no bottled water which was really difficult as the shops were all shut. Whilst we did only pay for the items we kept it felt a bit unfair to pay for the delivery. The TV didn't work the whole time we were there - Dean was meant to come back to us about this but didn't and dedn't respond

Apartment No.9 at Panorama Seafront Homes II in Panormo Crete

An absolute delightful sight greets the eyes as you enter the small complex of apartments at Sea Front Homes II, attractively arranged around the 3 free form swimming pools and baby pool. Beautiful palm trees, shrubs and flowers are tastefully dotted around the pools and in my opinion the next best thing other than a close sea view.

No.9 is positioned ideally within the complex - it's most attractive feature being the long wide terrace , bathed in late afternoon and evening sun with a commanding view of the pools where we spent many an evening drinking in the beautiful vista whilst enjoying a glass of wine. One of the 2 bedrooms has a small terrace at the rear which enjoys the morning sunshine.

The location is 15' walk into Panormo village which is very quaint with its small harbour, a couple of beaches and a nice selection of tavernas which are simply wonderful and the people very friendly.

Thank you John and Robyn for the use of your apartment but there are a couple of points I feel are worthy of comment. Firstly, it would have been appreciated if there had been a stock of toilet rolls in the cupboards as the inadequate supply meant having to buy more - not something I want to be doing on holiday. Secondly, I wasn't happy with the 10 Euro charge for the small selection of groceries I ordered with Dean. It was a charge that wasn't mentioned about previously and also we considered the charge to be too expensive and was half the cost of my shop so a 50% mark up was unexpected.

This aside, the apartment was superb and the location ideal. We would particularly like to thank you for all your recommendations from the car hire to places to visit and eat. We did them all and each one was wonderful! Thanks again - a wonderful place and ideally would suit young families or older couples.
