Why David Langton chose Pembroke, Tenby, Saundersfoot & The South Coast

We fell in love with this property as soon as we saw it and knew it was a perfect holiday getaway. We loved the secluded grounds and location so close to the beach, with Tenby and Pembroke a short drive away.

What makes this barn unique

Lake hamlet is a great community and our neighbours will be pleased to welcome you. You will be free to roam the farmland in which West Barn sits, which leads all the way to the beach.

High quality family accommodation with fantastic outside space near Pembrokeshire coast

  • 5 of 5

We were 3 generations of a family looking for a 3 night break over New Year. Grandmother, son and daughter plus 2 children 6 and 7 who needed space both inside and out and the accommodation did not let us down. The garden was huge with so many play areas / activities including trampoline, 2 tree swings and a pirate ship!

The accommodation was of high quality with lots of space including the well stocked, stylish farmhouse kitchen and very comfortable lounge area with enough space for all.

The bedrooms 2 x double and 1 x twin were great, spacious with TV in each room. Bathroom was very spacious with a large bath and shower plus separate toilet.

The neighbours who arranged access to the property were truly welcoming and even took our 2 children for a horse ride, which made their holiday - Thank you Alison and Andy fixed a small heating problem.

The surrounding area offers so much to do especially the outdoors, Fresh East Beach is on your doorstep (reasonable walk or very short drive), Barafundle Bay around the corner, alongside Bosherton and Broadhaven. Of course you have Lydstep and Tenby in the other direction with Pembroke offering you shops and Tudor Castle.

All in all, great accommodation in a quiet rural setting close to a broad range of things to do!

Simply gorgeous

  • 5 of 5

The barn is really a wonderful place to stay in. Tastefully furnished with all modern amenities and very spacious.

We had a great time there and it is a perfect touring base for South Wales. David was particularly quick at answering our emails and satisfied all our requests. The welcome wine was a special touch. The place is highly recommended!

Lovely quiet location with super outside garden space.

  • 4 of 5

The cottage itself was ideal, it had all the equipment in the kitchen you want, and nice layout. The jewel though is the outside garden (owned by the house next door but we only saw them when we went looking for them!)-children were gutted that zip wire had been pulled down, but soon got over that when they saw a badminton net + racquets and a trampoline! The walk to the beach is definitely not an easy stroll away as I'd hoped but didn't worry us as we hopped in car instead. Neighbours were lovely and happily let us borrow bike and bodyboard which we really appreciated. And welshcakes and bottle of wine on arrival was a nice touch.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for your great review. Future guests please note: I have spoken to our neighbours who owned the zip wire but sadly they have become concerned over users' safety. I have to admit I was never brave enough to ride it! If it gets reinstated I'll add it back into the property description but I cannot delete references to the zip wire in past reviews as I'm not allowed to edit them - naturally! Dave Langton

Well converted barn into an easy living holiday house.

We enjoyed our week. The short walk to the beach through the fields and good weather meant that we spent most of the time on Freshwater East Beach. The neighbours/caretakers were most helpful. The website needs updating as the zip wire in the garden had been taken down.

Great Holiday

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for letting your wonderful home to us, we had a fab stay!!!!!

Very centrally located between Pembroke, Tenby, the beach, the local shop, just perfect.

The house has all mod cons, including a great choice of TV channels and WIFI.

The garden is fantastic for children, including a zip line, a climbing pirate ship, rope swings and a basketball hoop, the children returned to their own adventure playground after our numerous days out.

I can't recommend this accommodation highly enough, the neighbours provide such a warm welcome and at the end of the week they were kind enough to allow our daughter a ride on their horse - thank you.

Places to visit - For the children - Heatherton Park & Hangar 5 Trampoline Park.
