Beautiful Period Cottage in Hampshire UK - Peaceful Location With Garden
About Alastair Knockton
My wife (Helen) and I have been holidaying in the New Forest area for over 15 years, visiting once or twice a year. We finally took the plunge and bought Willow Cottage in October 2013. Our son James, who is 13 years old, loves the garden and we love relaxing in the sitting room with a glass of wine next to the wood burning stove. The location of Bickton attracted us as it is so quiet yet convenient for major road networks. The New Forest is just a short walk away and the River Avon path is just at the end of the road. We hope you enjoy Willow Cottage as much as we do!

Great property and area
Would use the property to visit the area again
We had a very good week at this property
This is a great property, perfect for families. Our boys enjoyed the garden and the layout suited us well. About 16 miles from beaches and other attractions. Would highly recommend.
Wonderful cottage in a serene location
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It is furnished and decorated to a really high standard, with the two bathrooms being particularly nice. The kitchen is big, light and well-equipped, with the large fridge-freezer, excellent hob, dishwasher and washing machine all perfect. The small wine fridge was a real bonus to find! We even loved the smart internal wooden doors in the house - they felt solid and gave a real feeling of quality.
The two downstairs televisions got plenty of use, and the children were particularly excited to be able to watch YouTube on the kitchen one. The wi-fi was fast and never dropped out.
The back garden is also lovely - some nice flowers and shrubs and plenty of lawn space for children to play, and adults to relax in. Bickton is a pretty village - very quiet, and it made for some pleasant walks to the river.
The surrounding area speaks for itself, really. Fordingbridge has some some decent shops and Ringwood is a high-quality market town with some excellent one-off shops and eating places (Tansy's Continental Cafe is highly recommended for its full English breakfasts). The New Forest is simply wonderful - Lyndhurst, Lymington, Exbury Gardens, New Forest Wildlife Park, country pubs, farmers' shops, great walks, friendly locals and much more.
We would thorough recommend staying at Willow Cottage and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
We had a great time staying at Willow Cottage, it was a beautiful house to stay in. It felt very homely, modern, cosy, it was just what we were looking for. We loved it's rural location, with Ringwood just down the road for supermarkets etc. The Royal Oak was a lovely pub to visit too, a nice walk cross country to get there. We also lived The George in Fordingbridge, we walked there too. Thank you so much for having us, we'll be back!
