A WOW STAY
A true gem property, subdued luxury, superbly located for those seeking a quiet and relaxing holiday. Beautiful region of France, plenty of interesting places to visit and excellent restaurants all around. A caring and communicative owner, very nice chap. What else can we say: 10 stars, highly deserved. Thank you, Laurie!

A wonderful retreat in a beautiful location.
This property provides luxurious accommodation in an amazing rural location. The facilities are first class and the attention to detail in the provision of a comprehensive welcome pack and all domestic consumables such as dish washer tablets, kitchen paper etc etc. means that you don't have to worry about provisions before you arrive. Although the property provides an oasis of calm and you might be tempted just to chill out 'at home', the area has such a wealth of interesting villages, castles etc that the guest will find that it is ideally situated for exploring the surrounding wine country and much more. We are so glad that we got to spend two wonderful weeks here and we will definitely return.
Thanks you two.....Look forward to seeing you back again sometlme......Laurie
This place is ideal for couples looking for a relaxed private getaway. Set amongst acres of vines, all you will hear are the birds, the bees in the lavender and the hum of the occasional tractor as local farmers work the vines. The garden is delightful and during our mid-summer stay the pool was fabulous. The greeting from the owner was very warm and the "welcome pack" of beers, wine, cheeses, bread, pate and other assorted goodies was extremely generous. A car is necessary but not far from the house great restaurants, beautiful towns, markets and wonderful country-side abound. But if you want to just "do nothing", this is the place to do it.
Thanks you two for your kind review.............do come back if you're in this part of the world again !! Laurie
Luxury and tranquility amidst the vines...
We spent two wonderful weeks in this very private and peaceful gite. Everything is laid out perfectly for your convenience. Step out from the luxury of the house itself on to the ample and shaded terrace, and just a few steps more take you into the pool. This was really appreciated during the great weather when we were greeted with blue skies and high temperatures almost every day.
The location is ideal for walking and mountain biking from the gite and there is plenty of wildlife to enjoy in the surrounding area.
Bordeaux and St Emillion are close by and great days out, as are the other Bastides in the area.
Laurie's welcome and thoughtfulness made it a perfect stay for us, and we are looking forward to returning.

1 h from Bordeaux in the Gironde, between Castillon la Bataille, where the final battle of the hundred year war was fought and the beautiful bastide town of Sauveterre de Guyenne. This famous wine growing area is the Entre Deux Mers (between two seas), the mighty rivers of the Garonne and the Dordogne.
Ruch, a few minutes away by car has a bar/restaurant and shop.
l5 minutes away explore the medieval town of St. Emilion, its catacombs and many of the worlds most famous vineyards. Sip Cremant in the cloisters and eat in picturesque squares.
Bordeaux's riverside restaurants, magnificent opera house, shopping, museums and galleries, are 1hr away.
At Blasimon's weekly night market in July/Aug, you can eat with the locals at long trestle tables in a superb colonnaded square and sample local wines and produce.
An unspoilt area with numerous small 'chais' where you can taste and buy local wine and picturesque bastide towns with their weekly markets selling local produce.
Other Activities: Canoeing, cycling, wine tasting
Golf: Excellent facilities at Château des Vigiers some 25km.
