3-bedroom bungalow about 5 minutes walk from pretty harbour and fishing village

The property is a 3-bedroomed bungalow which has been extensively refurbished. It comprises a large kitchen/diner, large lounge. Two standard double bedrooms and a single bedroom. There is a shower room & separate WC. Large garden with patio and play area for children. Off street parking for 2 vehicles and pet friendly (maximum of 2 please at £10 per pet per booking). It is about 5 minutes walk from the village with its harbour, shops, restaurants and pubs. The beach is about a further 10 minutes walk.

Why Nick Seagrave chose Lizard Peninsula

This property belonged to our grandparents. They loved living in Cornwall with its mild weather and relaxed way of life.

We have many happy memories of family holidays here for the last 30 years so we have extended and refurbished the property.

Now it is complete family and friends will be visiting regularly, but for the remaining weeks we thought we should give others the opportunity to experience the area.

Having a base in such a beautiful location is fabulous and we think the property is perfect for an affordable family holiday.

Porthleven beach is an extensive beach with some rocks and pools, and a lifeguard in the summer. It is next to the harbour.

There are dozens of other beaches along the coast, with popular tourist locations of Penzance, St. Ives and Kynance within easy reach, but with numerous other quieter hidden gems off the beaten track.

Travel:

Newquay airport is just over 30 miles/1 hour away.

Trains to Redruth and Penzance 12 miles.

Distances:

Truro is the nearest city 40 minutes away

Penzance is 30 minutes away

St Ives can be reached in 40 minutes but allow longer at peak times

Further Details:

Porthleven has a number of excellent pubs, restaurants and cafes. If you want to cook for yourself there is a small supermarket which will meet most needs, failing that there is a Tescos and a Sainsburys in Helston (15 minutes).

Porthleven also has a bakery, pharmacy, fish and chip shops, newsagent and gift shops.

Notes on accommodation: There is a smoke alarm, and bedroom 2 has a smoke alarm with a vibrating pad for the hard-of-hearing. We regret that the property is non-smoking. A travel cot, high chair and baby bath are provided. Outside: Large garden with patio, and play area for children Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels will be provided. You will receive a welcome pack when you arrive containing basics you may need (e.g. milk, tea, sugar etc). Property will only be cleaned weekly unless additional cleaning is requested.

good family size home & easy reach of the harbour

this is the second year we have stayed at this property. it is clean and tidy and easy access to the harbour and centre of Porthleven, a beautiful little fishing town on the Lizard peninsular. the décor in the property is a little tired but still comfortable.

Home from home

Very clean, very comfortable and lots of space.

This was our second visit and hopefully we will return again.

It was pleasing to see the refurbished bathroom and toilet, thank you.

We also enjoyed some of the apples from the trees in the garden!

We both love Porthleven and the Lizard peninsula.

Great location

Very well situated property with an easy stroll down to the harbour and all it's facilities.

The property has a few foibles. The furniture in the lounge is old fashioned and the bathroom and toilet are very small. There is a nice and roomy kitchen diner which is let down by build quality. The beds are nice and comfy and there is a good size garden. Overall we enjoyed our stay in Porthleven.

Perfect holiday with kids!

Very nice and cosy place.

Perfect for young children with toys, DVDs, lovely garden and room to play. Games area very close to the house.

Very good location close to the harbour with beach, rocks, all shops and restaurant.

Ideal situation to visit Cornwall.
