Not long back home from our third visit to this beautiful house. It really does feel like home from home as soon as you step into the large hallway. The views are stunning and the owners supply you with everything you could possibly need. Loved the addition of the new double bed, very comfortable as was the new sofa. The weather wasn't as good this year but when you have such a fantastic place to come back to at the end of your day you don't care. Love it and would happily stay permanently. Can't wait for our forth stay. Catharine, Jayne, Alfie and Maisie.

First class location and very homely house

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed in Aberdovey a number of times now and so we picked this house carefully. Big benefits for us were the ample parking (very rare in Aberdovey), spacious house (two teenage boys), garden (doggies) and ease of walking to the beach. The amazing view from the terrace was just the icing on the cake. The house is very comfortable and well equipped. The owners have been consistently responsive to our communication both pre and post our stay and when the washing machine was broken two weeks before we stayed there, they worked hard to get it fixed quickly. A lovely relaxing week in an excellent location - we will certainly be back again before too long.

Lovely detached cottage with grounds

  • 5 of 5

We loved it there. Hannah, 9, loved the garden and swing, she was in her element. The kitchen was well stocked so no looking for a corkscrew and realising there isn't one. We had a great time and even managed to walk up the hill most days, it got better as the week went on.

Really enjoyable.

The owners were on the end of a phone and if you need anything they would sort it out.

We would definitely go again.

Very good location, great house and stunning views

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic stay at High Mead, Aberdovey. The house is in a great location on the hillside with stunning views and only a few mins walk to town. The house is clean and in good condition. I had a great few days kitesurfing the local beach and a day at "Coed Y Brenin" mountain bike centre. Will definitely be booking again later in the year.

thanks - Luke

Located on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, this region is known for it's spectacular walks. Aberdovey has numerous watersports activities and is very popular for windsurfers, kite-surfers and dinghy sailors. There is a championship links golf course within 15 minutes walk of the property.

Aberdovey is well known for its miles of clean, fine sand and dunes. The nearest beach is within 10 minutes walk of the property, with other parts of the beach being within a few minutes drive.

A car is advised. Alternatively, the train station is only a 10 minute walk from High Mead. However, due to High Mead's elevated position, there is a steep hill to climb to get to the premises.

Further Details:

Aberdovey is a small peaceful seaside village nestling on the north side of the Dyfi estuary. A popular resort for many years it has a thriving little harbour and sits within Snowdonia National Park, where the river Dyfi meets the blue waters of Cardigan Bay.

Aberdovey is a haven for those wanting to spend an energetic holiday. It has watersports galore, including sailing, sailboarding, fishing, boat trips and the summer regatta. It also has an 18 hole championship golf course.

The area around Aberdovey is littered with attractions. For example, the Talyllyn Railway, which starts in Tywyn, is well worth a visit and there are numerous historical sites within close driving distance in addition to spectacular mountain and valley scenery including the peaks of the Cader Idris and Aran Fawddwy ranges. This is an ideal area for walkers, climbers and wildlife watchers.

Aberdovey's 4 miles of golden sands, sheltered climate, and backdrop of the rolling hills and valleys of Snowdonia National Park, make it an ideal place for a weekend getaway, short break, or family holiday - Aberdovey really does have something for all the family.

Many people return to Aberdovey year after year. It is such an ideal place to relax or use as a base to explore the wild and rugged West side of Wales.
