Hideaway Cottage is a mid-19th Century Lakeland cottage that has been lovingly restored. It is situated on a quiet side street in the heart of the Lakeland village of Staveley. Awarded 4 star gold by visit Britain, the cottage retains many original features such as a feature Lakeland stone fireplace, exposed beams, original doors and wooden floorboards. This coupled with the modern essentials make this cottage the ideal luxury hideaway for the more discerning couple.

About Philip Rowbottom

We are lucky enough to live, work and bring up our family in the Lake District National Park, North West England. We are passionate about providing luxury holiday accommodation in the Lake District and would love to share our beautiful cottages and village with others. Our background is in the Hospitality business and the knowledge we have gained over the years has made it possible to provide you with two of the very best self-catering cottages in Staveley. We have worked hard to make our cottages what they are and hope that you will come and enjoy them. We have a wealth of knowledge of the Lake District which we are happy to share both in person and via the information we have ready for you in the cottages. We hope to welcome you to one of our cottages very soon.

  • The travertine tilled bathroom is again spacious, comprising P shaped bath with electric shower over, WC hand basin and heated towel rail. Fluffy towels are provided.

  • Description of sleeping capacity: Sleeps 2 (1 Bedroom) Notes on bedrooms: The large double bedroom has a super-king bed (twin beds if preferred). The bed is dressed with Egyptian cotton linen with goose-down duvet and pillows. It retains its character with original wooden flooring and a feature (not in use) fireplace.

Notes on accommodation: Please note this a Non Smoking Cottage. Outside: To the rear of Hideaway Cottage is a communal garden shared with other cottages. There is on street parking available around the corner. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The beds are dressed in Egyptian cotton linen and the bathrooms well stocked with fluffy towels.

Friendly welcome, lovely cottage and beautiful location near a bakery and beer hall. Staveley is beautiful and convenient for Windemere / much of the lakes too. Myself the wife and dog loved our stay... in fact we didn't want to leave.

The thriving village of Staveley sits at the foot of the beautiful Kentmere valley, a walkers and mountain biker’s paradise.

Staveley has a lot to offer including Hawkshead Brewery and beer hall, The Eagle & Child pub, Wilf’s cafe, Local butcher, an Artisan Baker, news agents, spar shop, pharmacy and wheelbase cycle shop and bike hire.

If you do want to explore the lakes, there is also a train station and regular bus service.

During quieter periods and "off season" we are happy to offer short Breaks.

The pricing for short breaks is for two standard breaks - Friday for 3 nights and Monday for 4 nights.

Any other breaks searched for may well generate incorrect pricing. Please contact us for the correct rates.

Booking Notes:
A 30% deposit is required to reserve the cottage unless your booking is less than 2 months away, in which case full payment will then be required at the time of booking. The balance is due 2 months prior to your stay.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Friday. During the non peak season we offer short breaks (Friday for 3 nights and Monday for 4 nights. The cottage will be available from 3 pm on the arrival day and should be vacated by 10 am on the day of departure.

Notes on prices:
Hideaway Cottage is pet friendly, we make a charge of £15 per dog per stay.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
