About John Lansley
We currently live in Scotland where we are renovating a castle for use as a holiday rental. We have two grown up children and a beautiful new grand daughter. We have one dog who travels with us to France and up and down the country.she loves nothing better than being in the car going somewhere. We love travelling and exploring new places, we became involved in holiday homes because of our own love for self catering accommodation and to try to provide that little bit extra or bit different. Each year we try to improve the houses as much for our benefit as for our guests, as our family and ourselves enjoy the house and surrounding area.
Why John Lansley chose Arbroath
we have been overseas on and off for the past 10 years and John has now retired and we wanted a new project and this one came along. we fell in love with the area and the history of the castle

The castle was amazing, so much bigger and more beautiful than we expected. Great hot-tub and lovely grounds for a wee dram on a cold autumn day in the sun. Already planning a possible second visit. John and Sue were both lovely and made the trip even better.
Colliston Castle was everything you would expect in a Scottish castle. We just loved our stay. We had the perfect family holiday with adults and children enjoying all that was on offer. Facilities were great I had the perfect bath in my room and the showers were amazing. I just loved the family kitchen and massive dining room. The children loved exploring the nooks and crannies. The hot tub was amazing (who needs bubbles) family night's playing games round a roaring log fire just perfect. Hope to be back soon
Un séjour exceptionnel
Accueil parfait, lieu unique, et région magnifique font de notre séjour un excellent souvenir, pour un groupe nombreux.
Very interesting place and great location
great location, wonderful history lesson and connection to so many sites in the area. The house was comfortable and ample room for a large family or group of friends. The owners were very helpful.
Great fun and beautful area!
We were a wedding party that stayed at the Castle for a weekend. It was the perfect venue, and Sue and John couldn’t not have been more helpful and accommodating.
Great family anniversary trip
My wife and I celebrated our 50th anniversary by taking our son and his family to this castle in Scotland! What a great time! Sue and John (owners) were extremely kind and helpful! Great place for a large group. We played croquet at 10:30pm on the lawn- great fun. Also loved the hot tub barrel. Our son made a fire every night while we played cards and had fun. Great place that we highly reccomend.JJRDTTM&M from Pennsylvania
