Colombage House in Neuville sur Touques, Orne, Normandy - Peaceful Rural Location Giving An Ideal Central Base For Exploring All Normandy Has To Offer

Tucked away on the outskirts of the little sleepy village of Neuville Sur Touques, on the Calavdos/Orne border in Normandy, just 8km south of Vimoutiers is "La Petite Maison". A typical totally detached Normandy colombage house with the oldest part being over 200 years old, with lots of characteristic wooden beams throughout. It sleeps 8 comfortably with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and has all the amenities you could need, including wi-fi and all other modern comforts. Set in 2500m2 of secluded lawn garden, that contains many fruit trees, an enclosed children’s play area, a 10ft trampoline and a long private gated driveway. It has beautiful views over farmland and countryside, with local woods all around...the perfect way to relax in what is a peaceful and tranquil environment. A pretty house with lots of character and plenty of space for a large family or a group of friends to chill out and relax in, and is available to rent all year round. About Kevin Reardon

After more than 20 years of holidaying in Normandy and staying in other peoples gites along the way, we have finally taken the plunge and bought our own. Having spent so many years doing this, we feel that we know exactly what people expect, not just with the Gite itself but also from the experience of a Gite holiday.

Our aim in time is to live here permentantly ourselves, but untill we do, we want to share our home with others, not only so you can enjoy the same experiences we have had ourselves over the years, but to also get to explore the real France and enjoy the many things it has to offer.

We hope you enjoy our home as much as we do.

Kevin Reardon purchased this house in 2013

Why Kevin Reardon chose Neuville-sur-Touques

Location is key to a good Gite holiday and we feel where we are, it could not be better placed to explore all that Normandy has to offer. Close enough to get to from most of the ferry ports and centrally located to be within travelling distance of the many points of interest Normandy has to offer.

The house itself is perfectly located in a beautiful rural location, giving peace and quiet when you want it, but having enough going on around you so you dont feel isolated. Ideal for both familiy holidays, or just chilling with a group of friends, where you can do as much, or as little as you please. Children have their own safe play area where they can tire themselves out whilst you relax and enjoy your holiday.......possibly with your feet up and a glass of wine on the go !

What makes this house unique

The house is very easy to find, and to get to, and within 10 minutes of 2 towns with all the ammenities you could possibly need.

It has everything you would need for a family holiday, for adults and kids alike, which is important to us. There is a safe kids play area that will keep the young ones entertained, and a 10 ft trampoline should they still have some energy left to use up.

With all the bedrooms well spread out over the house each person will get their privacy if required, but it also has commiunial areas where everybody can be together for family fun

Lovely property in the heart of Normandy

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed a lovely week away with family at this charming and very well equipped property in the heart of Normandy. The accommodation was spacious, with lovely bedrooms and plentiful bathrooms. It was great having a downstairs bedroom with an en suite for the senior members of our party. We received great information prior to our stay from the owners and a very warm welcome from Eva on our arrival. Unfortunately some of the information in the booklet provided was incorrect regarding local markets, which was unfortunate, as we didn't double check on the internet. Also would have been really useful to have towels included in the rental. Thank you for a really enjoyable holiday and we would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review regarding your stay at La Petite Maison, it is very much appreciated and helps us make sure we listen to our guests suggestions and comments and act where we can. With regards to the Market days, it can be very difficult to keep up to date with changes that may happen and going forward we will add to our "Welcome pack" the need for checking the internet before leaving, to go to these markets, so thank you for that helpful suggestion. With regards to the supply of towels, we do actually advise in the "Welcome Pack" that towels are not supplied (other than hand towels), just so that guests are aware they are required to bring their own. The reason we do this is due to the fact that previous guests had a preference to bring their own towels based on the personnel use of the towels and many people prefer this. We may in future offer this as an option to include towels as part of the cleaning charge, so again many thanks for the suggestion Once again, many thanks for choosing La Petite Maison, we wish you well for the future and hope that you may return again one day for another holiday Sarah & Kevin

Family Holiday at La Petite Maison, Neuville sur Touques, August 2017.

  • 5 of 5

Property was well maintained, well equipped and comfortable. The original house was old with character, but had been tastefully modernised and extended to provide modern amenities including Wi-Fi connection, Sky TV, DVD player and wide selection of DVD's, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, two refrigerators, freezer and other kitchen appliances. Equipment for garden games and amusement, including a trampoline. My wife particularly enjoyed seeing the cows in the adjoining field coming close to the house.

Car(s) necessary in view of the rural location of the property.

Information provided by the owners was extremely good and was appreciated.
