About Mrs C Peplow

Reston Mill Cottage has been the family holiday home for more than 25 years. I took over running the cottage from my parents in October 2014. Since then the cottage has had several updates & improvements. My husband Phil & I make many visits to Reston both to do regular maintenance and to enjoy the area on bikes & on foot.

Our principal interest is road cycling and enjoy riding the quiet lanes in the beautiful area south of Staveley and the challenge of climbing all the high passes.

We live in Staffordshire and run an internet based bespoke curtain & blind making business - we hope that you like our handiwork!

Why Mrs C Peplow chose Penrith, East Lakes & Eden Valley

This is our 2nd home and we like to make it as homely and welcoming as possible. We provide almost everything that you would have in your own home, All of the furniture has recently been replaced & is of excellent quality & very comfortable. The central heating is powerful & warm and heats the cottage very quickly, even in the depths of winter. In addition to the central heating, there is an open fire with a plentiful supply of hardwood logs.

My wife, a friend and I enjoyed 3 nights here. The cottage was cozy, comfortable with everything we needed. We were able to wash & dry clothes here. We liked the village of Staveley, had a tasty meal at Eagle & Child Pub. The beds were comfortable. We appreciated the cleanliness. Cathy was friendly, easy to reach to answer our questions. The sun room was a nice bonus. We would stay here again & highly recommend to others for this type of lodging.

Cosy Cottage

We only had a short stay but wished it was longer! The cottage is clean, cosy and very homely. It had everything we needed. The village of Staveley is lovely and the cottage is situated in a perfect position to explore Windermere.

Very clean. Great detailed guidance.

We are sold on Staveley and the place was wonderful. So clean and comfortable. Extremely polite correspondence. Neighbors were very friendly and helpful. Lots of materials that capture local activities, walking trails, food options, etc. Felt completely at home. One thought: we are now in another Home Away. The owner met us at the door and showed us around. Logistics may preclude every owner from greeting guests but it is nice to "know a local." Thanks Cathy....didn't meet you but you presented a tremendous product.

We had a lovely time seeing the lakes the weather was nice, and the bungalow was in a very convenient location. It had everything we needed for our stay, very comfy and cosy, loved the open fire, and Freddy our dog loved sitting in the conservatory watching the world go by. Would definately book again, thank you for letting us enjoy your lovely bungalow.

A lovely, comfortable house in perfectly situated Staveley. Just at the start of the Lake District but still excellent walking nearby. don't miss the Hawkeshead brewery for delicious food and the best beer in the lakes ( all 10 mins walk from the cottage ). Thank you Cathy
