Cosy cottage, idyllic location.

We had a short break (too short) in this lovely little cottage. Cosy and very comfortable and although the shower was subject to water pressure, the fact the water was coming from the stream just added to the charm. The setting so close to the river and access to the lovely gardens made this a really magical place to stay. The road close by is busy during the day but then, so were we, and it quietens in the evening leaving just the wonderful sound of the river. My husband tried a bit of wild swimming.....cold but invigorating, dog and I sensibly watched from the bank & held his towel!! Some beautiful walking a stones throw away. We will most certainly be back & for a longer stay next time. Thank you to the kind owners for sharing their home in this lovely spot.

We would love to keep this little gem a secret....

.... but unlikely that will be possible. Simple, uncomplicated, unspoiled, but with many lovely touches (including a cafetiere when you make the effort to bring some nice coffee and realise you forgot your own!).

A truly beautiful spot and amazing setting. Yes, the road is busy, but after a 10 mile walk and a relaxing meal overlooking the river the road quietens down in the evening and even the dog was snoring undisturbed in no time.Perfect location for exploring mid-wales from the eastern border, the Brecons, and the west coast, but better than that you don't even need the car with the long river walk through the garden and access to miles of open country. We used the wood burner a couple of nights even though it was mid-June which may partly be because of the huge trees surrounding the property as mentioned in other reviews - but don't envy the garden management that must be required to maintain it all. If the opportunity is there and it is safe to do so, myself and the dog would strongly recommend at least one river swim during your stay to rejuvenate and clear out those cobwebs....

A very helpful owner in addition, and if you stay here make sure you closely follow the instructions given for safe access down the drive to the property and you will have no concerns. Thank you and we hope to be back.

Great option for the Elan Valley

  • 5 of 5

Spent 5 nights here and totally happy with this cottage. Fully equipped, very comfortable, private, quiet and a lovely location - with the owner kindly allowing access to their own garden and therefore the river and walks. We were out every day and whilst the road above the cottage is a main route, by early evening the traffic has all but disappeared so barely noticeable even when sitting on the terrific decking area behind the house. The rate of growth of the trees meant we could only just see the river below and it would have been nice to have more of a view of it but in a garden this size I imagine it's a never ending process for the owners but we enjoyed the view we had nonetheless. The cottage is within an easy drive of everything the Elan Valley has to offer and it was a privilege to be able to use this as our home - it wasn't long enough.

Fantastic holiday

We have just experienced a wonderful week here. Beautiful setting, lovely cottage, complete privacy, superb walks around here and the Elan Valley and luckily for us wonderful weather so we were able to swim in the river. We will definitely be coming back.

Marvellous Discovery

  • 5 of 5

A very comfortable, well equipt cottage in beautiful surroundings. Definitely recommended if you like the outdoors, gorgeous scenery and want to get away from it all. First place ever where we have been able to close the gates and let the dog roam free. Hope to return for a little longer next time. Very Happy.

Little Gem!

  • 5 of 5

The photo's don't do this place justice, the river, views and cottage are lovely.

Myself, husband and 4 legged monster stayed for 5 nights, the space is more than adequate, kitchen is well-equipped and romey.

The nearby nature walk (Accessible through the end of the garden via a gate or by car in the large lay-by) is a must see/do as the views are stunning and great access to the river for a doggy swim!

Theres plenty to do nearby (Car is necessary).

If you want a peaceful and scenic break in Mid-Wales this is definitely a good place to rest your weary head after a long days walk.
