About Jane Lyle
We came to Portland, as a family, when my father was in the Navy.
Jane Lyle purchased this House in 2005
Why Jane Lyle chose Easton
A beautiful big house that has a large front window with plenty of light flooding the rooms. We were overwhelmed with the size of the houseoforever it seemed. Fell in love with it immediately-it's character and long enclosed garden, ideal for our dogs.Very close to beautiful Church Ope Cove and 5 mins from shops, bars etc.Easy access to coastline and bus routes Area is lovely.
What makes this House unique
As above, but best of all, everything within walking distance. And benefits from the lovely hot tub in the garden. Especially under the stars

A wonderful holiday
We stayed for a week at the house in total their was 7 adults and 2 children and there was plenty of room in the house , the kitchen is a large area with a big table that all 9 of us could sit round there is a very large television in the dinning area all the bedrooms have televisions in them the beds are very comfortable the top room has a wonderful bathroom , we enjoyed a very relaxing week in the house so many positives about this house no trouble parking either you are only 5 mins drive from Portland lighthouse you only a 10 mins walk to Tesco and a 5 mins walk to Rays chip shop nearly forgot the large back garden with bbq and a hot tub so all in all we have nothing but praise for the house if we holiday on Portland again we would certainly stay here again.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments Wendy and family and also for leaving the house so clean and tidy.xx
A beautiful, spacious house with en-suite bathrooms which enabled everyone to get ready at the same time for our nights out. Fabulous location with plenty to do. Will definitely be booking again.
Thank you for your lovely comments Jackie and family. Look forward to you staying again.
quality of the appliances did not reflect the price
The large house and spacious bedrooms were lovely and perfect for young adults shared with parents and friends. The front room was really nice.
The back room was cold in the evenings and numerous notes and stickers not to alter the heating meant we stayed cold. The kettle leaked, the fridge door broke, the washing machine wasn't working and there is no freezer inside the house. The fridge inside the house is just too small for 6 peoples food. The dishwasher is rusty with several plate prongs completely gone from rust. The downstairs shower would be better replaced with a fridge/freezer or laundry area. It was wet and we had dogs and although the owner offered to do our laundry we didn't want to accept the offer. An extra set of towels would have been good as I change mine mid week at home in the absence of a washing machine.
Our grown up children loved the hot tub but we didn't use it as there was no where to wash the towels afterwards.
A lovely New Year stay.
Thankyou for allowing us to stay in your wonderful house. We had a lovely time. Leana and family
Beautiful house brilliant location .dog friendly. Lovely neighbours
As my husband and I are avid walkers ,leam house was ideal. We have visited Portland many times but our stay was very comfortable. We were very surprised by our welcome pack ,the bottle of wine was appreciated after our drive. The facilities here were brilliant enough for our needs .all the ensuite were clean and spacious. The kitchen more than accommodated our group and all we needed to cook hearty meals . The social rooms were comfortable and we all loved the log burner ,especially Bruno our boxer dog,! . The hot tub was amazing! Situated at the bottom of the garden .We used it every night after our long walks around the island. The house is positioned in a very quiet side of the island in wakeham with all facilities close by, pubs shops and a very good barbers ,called the eastside barbers that my husband used . We did enjoy the peace and quiet at the accommodation and would return again .if anyone reading this review enjoys walking ,outdoors and fresh air then we would recommend leam house for their stay especially families sharing the cost of a rental in a beautiful part of Dorset .many thanks to Steve and Jane our host see you next year
This property is overpriced and of need some maintenance .
This property is in a good location but needs unfortunately the owner seems to be concerned with making money and not the comfort or safety of the hirer.
The white goods in the kitchen are old and need replacing. The microwave is rusty, the dishwasher does not work properly, and the door of the cooker was falling off . The tumble dryer did not work and the freezer was located in a shed in the garden
The outside area is not maintain and the hot tub was dirty .
There was insufficient placemats and the mugs resembled a collection from a charity shop.
The seating in the sitting room was dirty.
The blind in the bathroom did not work. The whole house felt rather neglected and needed updating.
Unfortunately, these guests forgot to mention the damage they caused including an expensive bed (broken in two) that they refused to pay for, (repairs) 5 nights into their stay. After a phone call previously stating everything was wonderful, their attitude changed when asked for payment for damages, (several items - clearly stated in paperwork, that breakage must be paid for)
We have had a very busy year with no complaints of cleanliness.
And the mugs?? - all different patterns and colours??????
