|Minimum Stay||7 nights|
Heath View is a quiet oasis of Suffolk with access to everything. Spend a week relaxing in the tranquil house and garden or venture out to discover the riches of this beautiful county.
Explore the enclosed, private garden or play games in the large open space beyond, shared with the owners. Come and visit our chickens, ducks and pigs and collect eggs for your breakfast.
Our indoor heated pool is a glorious retreat. It is 4ft deep throughout with wide steps and overhead hoist for those less mobile. Kept around 32 degrees, the pool is a great place to relax. The Hot Tub is situated directly outside the pool area so guests can wallow in bubbles and warmth in the midst of our garden whilst watching the children play.
If it's nature you like you can visit the Heritage coast, go sailing in the sea, boating up the river, walking through stunning heathland or horse riding along coastal paths. If you wish to bring bikes, there is plenty of safe storage in the garage and we have a bike trailer and a bike seat for small children available for your use. We also have a buggy and child back pack so you can pack lightly.
For those interested in a different kind of walk, our road joins onto the entrance to the top-rated golf course in Suffolk with a par 71 18 hole course and a 9 hole course.
Heath View is ideally situated in a peaceful conservation area down a private road, yet is within 10 minutes drive of the Felixstowe seafront, the market town of Woodbridge and the bustling maritime town of Ipswich. Beyond Woodbridge discover the quaint Suffolk seaside towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold. For culture you can visit Snape Maltings, the home of Benjamin Britten and Aldeburgh Music. Heath view is also an ideal touring base for nearby Constable Country and the historic towns of Colchester, Bury St Edmunds and Norwich.
We have lived in and around Ipswich for over 20 years, making this pretty corner of England home for our 4 children. Jasper is a retired GP and Lynne an ex-nurse.
Our eldest daughter is a full-time wheelchair user, so we know all too well the difficulties of finding holiday accommodation that really does have what it says.
However, Heath View is not just for those who are less mobile - anyone is welcome to stay and explore the beautiful county of Suffolk. Having children, we understand what it takes to achieve a truly relaxing family holiday and we endeavour to make your holiday everything you hope it to be.
Lynne Goodwyn purchased this bungalow in 2009
Heath View is in a quiet corner of England with access to everything. Some of our guests have admitted never leaving the house, there is so much to do in the house and garden. Those who do explore the county find an abundance of farm parks, beautiful beaches, woods and heathland. There is something for everyone of all abilities and ages.
Inside, the house has wide spaces easy for children to navigate and a feel that you are never on top of each other. As well as the usual cot (we have two) and high chair, if you have a small baby, we have a microwave steriliser, baby bath and changing mat. If you’re little ones are up and about we have a potty and toddler toilet seat too. We also have a portable toddler seat that can be taken out on trips exploring the counties fabulous eateries.
Many of our children's books and games have been lovingly passed on, so there is an abundance of story and picture books, games, toys and DVDs.
The private garden is a safe, secure place for little ones to play. The garden is completely flat, quiet and private. There is a fabulous hand-built play deck which allows children of all ages to explore different themes at different levels. Opposite this is a secret play house for mini adventures.
Beyond the private garden is an area, shared only with our own children, with a sunken sand pit, sunken trampoline and swings, including a baby/toddler seat. There is a grass tennis court/croquet lawn which can also be used for football. A hard court area has basketball and a lower hoop for those who can't quite reach.
Living happily at the bottom of the garden are our two pigs, five ducks and six chickens, where kids love to collect for breakfast.
Our indoor pool is maintained at 32 degrees and is 1.2m deep throughout. There are wide steps for easy access and guest often find their little ones grow in confidence daily, just with access to such a warm, relaxing pool. Outside the pool area we have a hot tub overlooking the sand pit and trampoline.
Health View has been developed as an accessible property and is rated level 1 & 2 by Visit England.
We are baby and family friendly and are happy to have helping dogs and well-behaved dogs by arrangement.
With the pool doors fully open and children scampering between the play area and the pool, guests never feel the need to leave the garden at Heath View. If the weather is very British, the games room provides sheltered entertainment with table tennis and table football. There is also free wifi and BT TV.
It is so peaceful here that you would never guess the A14 and A12 are just a few minutes drive away. We have easy access to the whole of Suffolk through excellent road and rail links.
Ipswich Golf Club is a stone's throw away, backing onto the heathland. Guests could choose from the 18 hole par 71 course or the 9 hole pay and play.
The Suffolk Show ground is literally just across the road and hosts a variety of events throughout the year.
Please do contact us with any particular requests. We appreciate everyone is different and endeavour to make your holiday all you wish it to be.
As we were asked by a local 'who comes on holiday to Ipswich?' Well we did, mainly because we had not been to Suffolk before and we wanted somewhere where everwhere else was near at hand, but also because the promise of Heath View was very attractive for us, our children and our grandchildren. And Heath View lives up to the promise - loads of house games and books, table tennis and table football, tennis and crouquet, trampoline and climbing frame, pool and hot tub plus the animals to see - and heathland across the road for walks - you could spend a week here and not go anywhere. The bungalow is well equipped and the wet room and ramps makes the house accesible. Lynne and Jasper are excellent hosts; nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended.
This property is all on one level, it ticked all the boxes for us as we needed wheelchair access. All of the rooms are large and have everything you'll need for a relaxing break. Woodland walks on the doorstep, riverside and marina with cafe's & bars is just a 10 minute drive. Waitrose, John Lewis and Sainsbury's are only a short drive. This was a perfect week for my parents as they were having a wet room installed at home and needed somewhere to stay, they said "it was home from home.
Great Place to stay for big families/groups. Lovely, friendly, welcoming owners (Jasper & Lynne). Extremely well equipped house, everything required to make you feel at home. Clean and up to date appliances too. We forgot a baby monitor and within 2 hours of arriving Lynne had gone to the nearest Argos an purchased one for us - Amazing Service!
Garden is a great size for running around-again well equipped with a tennis court, basketball hoop, balls, bats, sandpit etc etc.....
Pool & hot tub a bonus too (Pool attached to the owners house but they don't disturb you as it is at the far end away from them)
Pigs & chickens are also resident in the garden at the far end in enclosures so no problems with droppings all over the grass :)
Retail parks & supermarkets within a 5 minute drive.
Ipswich & Felixstowe are close by and well worth a visit, not just a dock!
We stayed here over the October half term with family, 3 little girls ages 4,6, 8 and our son 16 we had a great week. The space in and around the house is amazing so much freedom for the children to enjoy. The use of the swimming pool is fantastic and we all really enjoyed the hot tub. The family loved the chickens, collecting them and having fresh eggs for breakfast. This house is home from home and has everything you need for a large family. We highly recommend any families looking for a week together this house and location it is fantastic being only one and half hours drive from London.
everyone had a wonderful time and the fantastic accommodation made the holiday fun for residents and staff, everyone would like to stay at the house again and explore the area more
Having booked our break a little late we were so wonderfully pleased with what we found, Heath View totally exceeded our expectations! The facilities and location were perfect for our extended family group. Our children loved playing in the garden, and in the sand pit, and the pool, and the hot tub! They also loved collecting fresh eggs and we all enjoyed eating them! The adults enjoyed the hot tub too alongside playing tennis and walks on the heath land. We had such a wonderful time that my daughter still regularly asks when we can go back to 'Jasper's house'!! A wonderfully equipped and situated property, feels so private yet close to all major facilities. Lynne and Jasper were excellent hosts, we would love to come again!
We were a party of eight, aged between 6 months and 65 years. I booked this place mainly for our 2 and a half year old grandson. If he is happy, so is the rest of us. And did he have the most wonderful holiday. He ran around the garden playing on all great equipment, like slide, swing, climbing stuff, driving "tractors", trampolining, sand pitting, then there were the chickens and the two piggies. He was so proud to collect eggs (for our breakfast). The older generations played tennis, table tennis, swam in the pool, sat in the jacuzzi. The house is brilliantly equipped with everything you could wish for and more, and is bright and light. Lynne and Jasper are a really lovely couple and so helpful. Spoilt us with fresh apple and pear juice, local honey, etc. wonderful! I'm ashamed to say we never left the place for sightseeing, we had such a lovely time around the house and garden, apart from one drive to the Maybush pub right by the sea for lunch. I will certainly recommend Heath View, especially for disabled. Could not be more appropriate.
Many thanks again Lynne and Jasper.
