Zoe’s Place is a beautiful two bedroom apartment with views overlooking Victoria Road in the heart of Dartmouth and has it sown parking. It's a 100 meter walk from the river front. Located over two floors, this lovely property is perfect for those who like to be within easy reach of the shops, bars and restaurants. It has a very pleasant atmosphere affording a relaxed and comfortable place to stay.

Please Note However** You must be able to climb stairs - two flights and one flight internal as there is no lift in the building.

About Matthew Harris

Zoe's Place is dedicated to my wife Zoe Harris who died in January 2013. It was our dream to own a property in the beautiful Devon town of Dartmouth, a dream that has now come true for my daughters and I at least.

I am a father to three girls, my youngest Scarlett-Rose is currently 6 years old and together we will enjoy our little piece of paradise in Dartmouth and we hope that you also do too.

Being at the heart of such a relaxed town is amazing. Please not however Zoe's Place is a second floor apartment accessed only by stairs.

Notes on accommodation: Zoe's Place is a privately owned property, and thus is regularly used and of particular personal importance to the owners. They wish you a fantastic stay, hope that you return, and request that you treat it as if it where your own. They welcome and guarantee that they will act upon any feedback that you may provide. Whilst we are sure you will look after the property, any loss or damage will be assessed by the Management Agent on the day of your departure, and the appropriate costs will be deducted from your deposit, or in extreme cases further legal action must be taken. The front door is accessed by a coded lock located next to the parking space sign to the rear of the property. The code will be provided prior to your visit, and changed immediately after your departure. You are responsible for not disclosing the code to anyone that you would not wish to visit the apartment upon your stay. Outside: There is a private parking space to the rear of the property located in Lake Road. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen and towels are provided to meet the required number of occupancy, and please state when booking. The booking fee includes the cleaning of the apartment after your departure.

Zoe's Place Dartmouth

My first impression was the flat was like my student digs when I was 18. Unfortunately we are both in our 70's and although very agile and walking long distances, we found the 3 flights of stairs up to the flat very difficult. My husband had great difficulty carrying the case up the 3 flights of stairs, has a knee injury and was exhausted. We left 3 days early because my husband could not manage the stairs any more. My concern was around fire safety. There were plenty of fire extinguishers, but only one set of stairs, and a ladder to get out of a window if required. I do not think I would be able to get the ladder up and out the window in time. The flat was very clean. I could not use the shower. Matt was very helpful, phoning us before we arrived and a comprehensive set of instructions to get to Zoe's Place. I think this flat is suitable for people in the 30 -50 age range and not for families or pensioners.

Owner's Response: Rod, I am very sorry to read your review as I had no idea about any of your comments as you have not been in touch with me directly. I have been renting Zoe's Place for just over 4 years now and you are the first guests to rate me less than a 4 star rating. I take the rental of Zoe's Place very seriously as it is my pension and my daughter Scarlett-Rose's inheritance should anything happen to me and so it has to be successful enough for me to afford to run it. Everything you have mentioned has been noted and I will be sure to discuss the access with all my future clients. I do however wish to point out that it is mentioned in the details here and on my website that it is a second floor and duplex apartment and that there is no lift in the building. Your comment about the decor is also noted however you are suggesting that it looks like it was decorated in the 1970's and I'm sure in reflection you would agree that that is not the case. The majority of my guests comment on how much they like the decoration, however of course just like art it is a matter of opinion. With regard to the fire safety, the entire building has a yearly inspection and complies with all health and safety requirements. There was a new Fire Alarm system installed throughout only 5 years ago, and there are fire doors throughout the building. Your recommendation of the age group of 30 to 50 is noted also. The majority of my guests are families and the majority of my 5 star reviews come from them. I do wish you had called me regarding your early exit as I would of made arrangements for you to stay somewhere. I intend to buy two more apartments in the next 12 months and if one is more suitable I would like to offer you short break in compensation. I also wish you well with any future booking on Owners Direct. Regards Matt

Great location for a weekend break in Dartmouth

We've just returned from a 2 night stay with our 2 young children and my 83 year old dad. Matt was so helpful from the first enquiry right up to contacting me the day before our stay providing a great deal of information about both the property and suggestions of what to do over the weekend. We had a really wonderful time, although the stairs could be tricky for elderly people less able than my dad! Fully recommend and will definitely come again. Thanks Matt :)

Very Central, with good parking

Recently stayed at "Zoe's Place, this cosy flat is located on the 2nd floor. It is very well equipped and was comfortable for the four of us. Matt the owner was friendly and provided clear instructions for the arrival of our stay and the facilities of the flat. Location is great with a short stroll to the harbor and all the lovely pubs and restaurants of Dartmouth, There is a small convenience store a couple of doors down. The flat has it's own parking space which is necessary in this busy town in the summer. We really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely apartment in a fantastic central location

This is a lovely apartment, in a great location, arranged over two floors, which makes it more spacious than expected. We found it to be spotless throughout and the instructions to operate everything were very clear. It was the best location we could have wished for, very central and close to all amenities. The private parking space was also a real advantage.

A very good spot

A very neat and clean maisonette so close to the centre of Dartmouth. A bonus really as Some of my friends were very high up and the coming home at night a bit of a trek. And to have one's own parking a tremendous advantage as spaces are like gold dust in lovely Dartmouth.

Sweet retreat

A perfect apartment slap bang in the middle of dartmouth, everything is within 2 minutes of this place, pubs, food, shops and river. Private reserved parking as well. It is a hime from home.
