About the property

Immaculately furnished 4 bed farmhouse with private heated pool & optional gite

A Puntos is an absolutely fantastic 4 bedroom farmhouse with amazing mountain views, brand new private heated pool with ample seating areas and wood fired pizza oven all set within a beautifully landscaped garden.

Set on the outside of the charming hamlet of Mont De Marrast in the Gers, the farmhouse is located up a long drive and is set in 2.5 acres of land facing south for all day sun and amazing views over the Pyrenean mountain range.

There is exclusive use of 10 x 5 metre pool with Roman steps, ideally set for the fabulous views and all day long sun. The pool is surrounded by a paved area with sun loungers and a pergola with rattan seating. Pool heating has been installed and there is a thermal blanket to keep it warm at night.

A Puntos also has a covered terrace with seating for 10, open to the east and south, accessed by French doors from the kitchen. It is raised above the garden and shaded by a beautiful walnut tree. Perfect for a sunny breakfast or a more shaded lunch / dinner. The kitchen is also well equipped and has a wood stove and also has seating for 10. We will be installing a wood fired pizza oven in 2017.

Lounge has Bose Sounddock and 45 inch flat screen Panasonic TV, DVD Player, Satellite TV and a large log burner.

There are 4 well equipped bedrooms along with two bathrooms; one with a walk in shower.

Come and enjoy the local food, wine and relaxing atmosphere of the property and enjoy lazy days and nights on the terrace, around the pool or just anywhere in the large and beautiful landscaped gardens.

We fell in love with the property as soon as we saw it. We love the property itself, the big gardens, the pool, which we have now heated, and the amazing views over the mountains. It really is a getaway from all the hustle and bustle of our busy city life's.

What makes this farmhouse unique

What is special about A Puntos.....I would say everything but then, I suppose, I am biased. If I had to pick one thing, it would be sitting on the terrace, with a warm breeze in my face looking at the mountains and enjoying the peace and tranquility. Obviously, with a glass of wine!!!

Peaceful and stunning

We had an amazing 10 day stay in this lovely house. The house is quite quirky and a real mixture between the old and new, but comes together as being luxurious and comfortable. Owner Graeme was extremely helpful and easy going which makes the stay more welcoming and relaxing. Cheers Graeme!. The pool is where we spent alot of time, it was well maintained and pretty and the grounds spacious, we really needed the pool as it was quite hot during our time there. Also closing the shutters during the day helps keep the house cooler as there is no air-con, but it was never an issue. There are really nice villages in this area, the countryside is absolutely stunning and the local wine is great, what more can I say!.

Beautiful farmhouse in rural France

What a fabulous find in rural France! A stunning French farmhouse with views to die for! Ideal size for a large family and immaculately clean and tidy.

Breakfast on the terrace eating freshly baked bread and croissants from the local village was exactly how I pictured myself spending my mornings in this little piece of paradise.

Lazy afternoons spent by the beautiful pool was bliss! Lovely restaurants for dinner were never too hard find, only a short drive away.

The perfect getaway for a peaceful and relaxing break!! Will definitely be returning!

Es ist wie nach Hause kommen...

Ich kam in dieses Haus im Sommer. Ich erlebte es wie eine zweite Heimat. Der Empfang der Besitzerfamilie, die Nachfrage, ob es an nichts fehlt und das Haus selbst. Es lädt ein, ein Ort der Zusammenkunft zu sein. Für Familie und Freunde. Alles zum Leben ist da. Ausstattung wie Bettwäsche, Geschirr, Handtücher, Waschmaschine, machen - auch für Kurztrips mit wenig Gepäck - dieses Haus empfehlenswert.

Wirklich alles ist so einladend wie es die Fotos zeigen. Es ist geschmackvoll, es ist gemütlich und es ist einladend. Das technische Equipment für TV, Musik usw. ist mehr als ich benötigte. Der Pool ist beheizt, nutzbar im Herbst und eine willkommene Erfrischung im Sommer. Und er hat die Tiefe und die Maße um schwimmen zu können. Die Ausstattung mit Liegen, großen Sonnenschirmen, Tischen und einer Lounge - ebenso das extra Geschirr für den Pool - sind der wahre Luxus. Die Aussicht über die Landschaft und auf die Pyrenäen sind großartig! Die Sonne geht am Ende des Pools unter und sie geht über der Veranda auf. Ich habe mehr als 500 Fotos vor Begeisterung gemacht: mit dem Morgennebel im Osten vor der Veranda, mit dem Sonnenuntergang der sich im Pool spiegelt und mit dem Blick auf die Berge und die Landschaft aus der oberen Etage.

Im Herbst erwartet einen sehr mildes Klima und zeitweise noch heiße Tage. Sie sind ideal - nicht nur um den beheizten Pool zu nutzen - sondern auch die Umgebung zu erkunden. Da wären Auch - Stadt des d'Artagnan mit der riesiegen Kathedrale, der Altstadt mit Relikten aus der römischen Zeit, den steilen Wegen in die Altstadt, dem romantischen Weg am Pau. Lourdes als Pilgerort, Marciac, die Stadt des Jazz, Toulouse und die Reise in die Pyrenäen. Wir haben den Cirque de Garvanie gesehen. Ein imposantes Naturspektakel im Kessel der Pyrenäen. Es gibt so vieles, wenn man sich dafür interessiert. Die nahen Märkte mit einheimischen Delikatessen in Tries, Mirande und Auch. Es ist selbst von Franzosen als das Geniesser - Paradies des Landes benannt.

Ich habe das Haus auch im tiefsten Winter genossen. Wir haben es mit Holz beheizt und es gibt elektrische Heizkörper. Es gibt einen wärmenden Kamin im Wohnzimmer und einen Rayburn in der Küche, der mehrere Heizkörper im Haus erhitzt. Es war eine besondere Erfahrung, zumal wir den Umgang damit nicht kannten. Colin hat uns sehr geholfen, die Technik zu begreifen und für Holznachschub gesorgt. Danke, Colin. Es war besonders und meine bisher schönste Zeit im Haus. Ruhe, Natur, heizen. ☜❤☞

Idyllic wonderful holiday accommodation

Had the most wonderful holiday, farmhouse was idyllic, set against the backdrop of the Pyrenees and colourful French countryside, a haven for artists looking for inspiration. If you are looking for a Get away from it all holiday, this is the place. Beautiful surroundings, quaint friendly villages and superb local cuisine, Foie Gras being a speciality at local markets. The owners could not have been more friendly, with suggestions of where to eat and local attractions to visit. Can't wait until we revisit this slice of heaven.

Heavenly views in rural France

Stunning farmhouse with all the charm and character that you would expect from a building in this part of France, of its generation. I was there as part of a wedding party for a few nights and enjoyed perfect weather to take in the stunning views of the Pyrennes. The property itself is ideal for a large family or group. Clean, tidy and ample room so as not to get under one another's feet. To be honest though, I'd be surprised if any large party didn't spend all of its free time by the pool. It was just the best. Especially 'the morning after'.

Nearby villages make it no issue at all to get fresh, warm bread/croissants in the morning and we had no difficulty at all finding restaurants in the surrounding areas that provided the highest quality of local produce. You will need transport though as its not all within walking distance. Great place and will hopefully be back in the next few years.
