Just fully refurbished to an excellent standard throughout, 'Hunish' Cottage is available to 'BOOK NOW'!
Bargain Breaks (3 nights & over) are available over the Autumn & Winter.
Situated at the most northerly tip of the Isle of Skye, 'Hunish' is a substantial 4 bedroom self catering cottage providing cosy accommodation all year round for up to 8 guests. It is the largest of the Cottages at the former Duntulm Coastguard Station and was originally both home and office for the Coastguards who would walk daily to the lookout station on the nearby Rubha Hunish headland.
Recently fully renovated in a nautical style, 'Hunish' retains it's cottagey 'old worlde' charm whilst providing comfortable and spacious accommodation with all 'mod cons' including good internet/wi-fi.
'Hunish' cottage is perfect as a romantic retreat for couples, or for family holidays and get-togethers.
The cottage is generously equipped and provisioned with all daily basics necessary for an easy and comfortable stay. There is an ample supply of... Bed Linens, Towels, daily Household & Kitchen consumables, Teas, Coffees, Condiments, Oils, Sauces etc. are all included.
The Cottage has installed electric heating in all rooms keeping it warm and cosy at any time of the year. But no Cottage holiday would be complete without a roaring open fire which is the welcoming focal point of the sitting room - coal and logs are provided 'foc'.
Whilst the Cottage is not wheelchair accessible, it is well-suited to guests with limited mobility as there is a ground floor double bedroom and full bathroom/toilet facilities.
'Hunish' sits right by the shore walk to Rubha Hunish which is one of the best locations on Skye for wildlife watching - seabirds, otters, whales & dolphins. Quiet and secluded, the rear of the cottages overlook picturesque Loch Cleat and from the front there are magnificent sea views over the ruins of Duntulm Castle to the Isle of Harris and the Outer Hebrides.
Just a five minute walk from the Cottage finds you on the headland approach to the ruins of Duntulm Castle set high on a promontory above 'Tulm' Bay. A further wee stroll reaches some of Skye's now famous Dinosaur Footprints on the magnificent and wild shoreline of Score Bay. There are just so many possibilities for wonderful walks right from the Cottage doorstep.
Recognised as one of the best places in Britain to view the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights)... Day or Night, it is a very beautiful and special place! The setting is simply stunning... one of the most photographed on the Isle of Skye!
'Hunish' Coastguard Cottage is just one of five excellent holiday homes on the Trotternish Peninsula owned and run by our family business, Skye Holiday Rentals Ltd.
