About Malvenia Richmond

Atlantic View is jointly owned between John/Malvenia and Helen/Richard, the history behind this friendship is that Malvenia and Helen are old school friends having met when Helen’s family moved house and she subsequently started at a new school. Malvenia was selected out of the class to ‘look after her’ and they have remained friends ever since that first day and are currently up to 45 years so far! John and Richard have developed a friendship over the years too and when not working on Atlantic View they enjoy a round of golf together or a pint down the pub! We hope you enjoy Atlantic View and will enjoy the house and the surrounding village and countryside as we do. The views from the house are breath-taking and we still find ourselves just gazing out of the windows!

Malvenia Richmond purchased this cottage in 2011

Why Malvenia Richmond chose North Cornwall

Cornwall has been in both families blood for generations with Grandparents being the first to discover Cornwall back in the 1950’s and subsequently each generation has grown up coming to Cornwall for family holidays and the place is full of many fond memories. Port Isaac has a very special place as this was a favourite holiday destination of Malvenia’s parents and this was the last place that Malvenia spent a holiday with her beloved Father before he suddenly passed away in 2009. Helen and Richard have been coming to Port Isaac too for many years and have got to know many local people during their stays. Richard has worked in the area too as he runs his own building business.

What makes this cottage unique

Atlantic View has the advantage to being close enough to the village to walk down into but far enough away to be quiet. Also having a private parking space in front of the property is a real bonus especially in Port Isaac.

Guestbook comments from the owner

What wonderful accommodation in such an idyllic setting. You have thought of everything to make our stay so perfect. The house is warm and inviting. Even though it is early October we have been so lucky with the weather; relatively mild and little rain. We are sad to have to leave! Thank you so much.

This is by far the most comfortable, and so well appointed, holiday cottage we have stayed in. We have "soaked-up" the beautiful views around & enjoyed the position here to the full. We would love a return visit sometime in the future. Many thanks to you. The F's

A super week in Port Isaac, made better by our stay in this fantastic house. It really is home from home. A great base to explore, plus the sights, restaurants and pubs in Port Isaac are excellent. Rachel, Robin et. al.

One of the best holidays we have ever spent. A lot of thought been spent regarding every need. The cottage has everything, it is a Special Place! Hope to come back. Ken & Mo

Fantastic Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Last year we spent a week at Atlantic View and we were so impressed. The house is immaculate and the amenities are superb, even down to a needle and thread to sew on a loose button! The views from the house are amazing and, if you are lucky, you'll see Doc Martin coming out of his house across the bay! Port Isaac is a beautiful North Cornwall coastal village. Bude, Newquay and Padstow are nearby and St Austell and the Eden Project are not too far away. We would certainly recommend this cottage; in fact we are returning there for a week next May.

A stunning cottage

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at Atlantic View for our first holiday with our new baby and we couldn't have been more pleased. The views from every room are spectacular.

The cottage is superbly located within the village. I would highly recommend visiting and enjoying the delights of Atlantic View within the beauty that is Port Isaac.

An absolutely brilliant cottage! So close to all the amenities, spectacular coastal views, every practical appliance - piece of equipment needed for the home provided.

Spotlessly clean and simply the most ideal cottage to stay with a young family. It even has a small garden and parking too!!
