Why Caroline Willis chose Melingriffith
This house is perfect for breaks in the city: handy for everything, yet you can return to the tranquillity of Whitchurch at the end of the day, cooking a meal in the lovely kitchen or eating out at one of the superb restaurants in the village.
What makes this House unique
The house is just around the corner from Hailey Park and the Taff Trail, so it is possible to walk into the city centre along the river bank. We have had some lovely days walking around the parks, meeting up with friends in Llandaff village and Pontcanna, watching a film in Chapter Arts Centre, or doing our shopping at the local award winning butcher and greengrocer in Whitchurch village. We love our life in Pembrokeshire but really look forward to a weekend in Cardiff.

Lovely house in a quiet setting
Well maintained house, a pleasure to stay in
Very cosy house and ideal for a family of 4. Great location, easy to go to shops and train station, and good access to cardiff centre. The owner gave the clear instructions. However, the reason I gave 3 stars is the house is not very clean. The living room and kitchen floor is very sticky, we found cobwebs in the kitchen, near the sink and inside the saucepan cupboard and also in one of the upstairs bedroom. The Cutlery and crockery were not very clean, you could see bits of food on them. We had to wash everything up before we used it. A Few items in the kitchen were broken eg saucepan lid and handle of one of the knives. The Tea towel was dirty and one of the bath towels had a stain on it. The upstair bedrooms are cosy and comfortable. Thank you for providing the toilet roll and washing up liquid.
A comfortable stay. The tv had to be operated manually as there wasn't a remote. There was only one for the dvd player and it didnt seem to operate the tv - no instructions either. Some soap in tbe bathroom would have been nice
Thanks for letting us know about the TV remote. I contacted the previous guests who said they left it on the arm of the sofa but obviously not. I had a spare TV with remote next door so it's a pity you hadn't let me know on arrival. Also, can I just thank you for leaving the house so beautifully. The cleaner was delighted!
Great location and very cosy
This comfortable, well-equipped 2 bedroom semi is in a great location for events in Cardiff. Easy access to walks alongside the River Taff, just 5 minutes walk to the train station and the shops and restaurants of Llandaff North ( we recommend the Salkarra for Indian food), you could even walk into Cardiff city centre if you were feeling energetic! Chris and Caroline we’re excellent hosts and very helpful.
Small tidy and clean house in an excellent location
Very well located with easy access to the M4 and good local links by bus or train into Cardiff
Excellent local walks and cycle tracks along the River Taff. The accomodation very clean and practical. Maybe but some new towels for the bathroom
But will be back
Peaceful quiet place. Second time staying there.
Second time staying there and was great.
Cardiff Bay is about 20 minutes drive away at the south side of the city. There are beautiful beaches at Southerndown and Llantwit Major.
Cardiff airport is 10 miles away. A car is not necessary as the house is close to Llandaf railway station giving direct access to the city centre.
