About Irene Jeffrey
We live in Surrey with 3 kiddies between 8 & 4 years old who love this place as much as we do and leave each time with bucket full of happy childhood memories. Firing up their imagination of witches tales, days spent rock pooling, ping pong and open mic nights at the local Grampas pub, sunset dog walks and body boarding at Putsborough Sands. It's proper childhood stuff. We're now in our forties and love this place to bits. It provides a secluded haven from our busy worlds. A place to see amazing views, take long rambling walks and just chill out in a place where traffic noise is a distant memory. We love it here. We hope you love it as much as we do.
Irene Jeffrey purchased this Cottage in 2013
Why Irene Jeffrey chose Ilfracombe
Lee is magical. It's a hidden gem of a valley on the North Devon coast in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Within 10 mins drive of the beautiful beaches of Woolacombe and Putsborough, and next door to Ilfracombe, we stumbled across it whilst holidaying here with our young family. When a local introduced us to Greystones... we couldn't resist... Family home from home - on the coastal path cliff, 3 mins walk down to Lee bay (7 mins back up the hill!). Feel the pure escape and remoteness of it all as you kick back in the south facing back garden overlooking the valley or ponder out of the kitchen across the Bristol Channel out to Wales.
What makes this Cottage unique
Well, if you haven't got the idea already; here are the edited highlights... It's in a secluded tranquil village, on a cliff side coastal path, with absolutely breathtaking views over sea and valley. It sits in Lee Village, one of the prettiest places in England and is a short walk from the bay and the local pub. It provides a quick escape to some of the best beaches for chilling, surfing and playing in Britain. In short it's perfect.

Truly Amazing Location
The house is set in a wonderful location with breathtaking views to the rear of the property. The house is extremely spacious and Irene has furnished the house to a very high standard.
Lee is a beautiful coastal village that is perfect for young families. This was our second stay at Greystone and we shall definitely return again.
A perfect vacation...
Great that you had a lovey stay and we look forward to you coming back again!
Amazing views in a peaceful location within easy reach of beautiful beaches
A good sized property set in a lovely peaceful location but within walking distance of Lee Bay and Lee's amenities (cafe, pub, craft shop). Greystones has amazing views which the property makes the most of. A nice sized garden for children to play in. The property is equipped with children in mind with travel cot, highchair, changing mat, children's cutlery and plastic crockery. All on one level too so no internal stairs to worry about.
Lee Bay is stunning, has a tiny beach at low tide and is great for rock pooling. Larger beaches such as Croyde, Woolacombe and Puttsborough are a 15 minute drive away and have excellent facilities. National Trust Arlington Court is 30 minutes drive away and RHS Rosemoor 45 minutes drive.
Good communication with owner prior to and after booking. We had an issue while in the property and the owner was available to assist.
Overall Greystones is located in a beautiful location with facilities to please all ages in our group ranging in ages from 10 months to 9 year olds, parents and grandparent.
Lovely property in picturesque setting
Lovely village, the children especially enjoyed the rock pools and we loved the cafe opposite. Sitting eating pizzas watching the waves as it got dark was an experience we will not forget.
good size . well equipped. good location.
Good location. Lovely little village. Right on the tarka trail for walking. Brautiful Bsy.Nice friendly pub and coffee shop. Village store doe not exist alrhough the Pub can provide some essentials. But expensive. Recomend you take as much essentials as you can for family and rainy days. The property is light and airy. A good size for family or large groups. Well equipped. Homely feel. In need of some essential repairs and maintenance . Narrow and steep road acess otherwise A really lovely house and location. Would recommend it as a good Base for walking and touring the area. It rained all week whilst we were there. Hay ho this is England after all. So coats wellies and wet gear essential.
Beautiful cottage in a great location with stunning views. Close enough to the larger towns to not feel too isolated but far enough away to provide the idyllic coastal escape. Lovely local pub and beaches within walking distance. High recommended - we will be back.
Delighted you enjoyed your stay Matthew. Hope to welcome you back soon!
Truly lovely spot where you can immediately relax and enjoy the many pleasures of North Devon
The minute we walked in we knew we would enjoy our stay. The valley view is absolutely lovely (we reckon one of the best in the village because you are not overlooked at all and you can only see two other rather grand houses) and the garden is bigger and has more seating than we had expected. The house is so comfortable with a lovely holiday vibe. There is lots of space and the rooms are all good sizes so that our three (two teenagers and an 11 year old) had plenty of room to spread out and keep to themselves if they wanted to. Lee bay is fabulous - you are NEVER too old to go rock pooling! And it is so close! We enjoyed a magical Friday open mic night at the Grampus inn which was even more fun with a power cut in the valley.....music by candlelight! Walks along the coastal path are magnificent even for reluctant teens and unbelievably we saw a family (pod?/school/gang?!) of 7 seals just off Morte point - lolling about on the rocks ! We also did body boarding at Croyde which is such a short distance away. We loved the peace and quiet, the views from inside the cottage through huge picture windows and sitting in the garden listening to the sea. We did a lot of cooking and the kitchen has everything you need. We especially appreciated the plentiful towels ...... What more can we say? The perfect place for the complete Devon experience - couldn't be better. We will be back I am sure.....
