Beautifully renovated, the charming Cime des Arbes (Treetops) is an open-plan gite on the 1st floor of a traditional tobacco-style barn. With a private balcony, large swimming pool and sun terraces, Cime des Arbes is nestled in a secluded area of the Dordogne countryside. This luxurious gite offers a tranquil setting while being just a short drive from many of the area's major attractions. The accommodation is all on one level and the total floorspace, including balcony, is 46 M². Open all year. Fully centrally heated with wood burning stove for cosy winter evenings. Complimentary Welcome Pack includes bottle of sparkling wine, beer, bacon, eggs, bread, butter, milk. There is also a 4 person (2 bedroom gite) on this property, available to rent separately or by extended family/friends (ref FR7062). The pool is for the exclusive of both gites. The owners do not use the pool while guests are on site. The gites & their balconies are not overlooked. Now with WiFi!
We have lived in the Dordogne for 9 years, but have nearly 30 years knowledge of the area. We're happy to answer any questions you may have and can advise on all the best spots to visit.
Vincent and Maria Lynott purchased this barn in 2005
Before we bought this property it had belonged to friends of ours - so we knew the house for about 20 years before we moved in. We fell in love with it when we first saw it, just as we did with the Dordogne area.
Outstanding uninterupted views. Tranquil location yet only a short drive to some of the most beautiful villages and sites in the Dordogne.
Cime des Arbes is a new property available for 2014. To get an idea of what to expect, just read some of the reviews for sister gite La Grange des Hiboux (Owl Barn):
"Les Bruguettes is without doubt the best gite, villa or apartment we have ever stayed in. A magical place. A superb holiday." - Janet & Nigel, Milton Keynes
"A paradise! There is not enough room to express our praise and satisfaction of Les Bruguettes. You have made the barn a haven of peace and comfort and provided everything to make us feel welcome. This holiday will always be a very special memory." - Reg & Francis, Devon
"This place is magical and you have created a holiday experience second to none." - William & Lesley, Scotland
"The best bits of a boutique hotel with the convenience of self-catering. A wonderful stay." - Matt & Rachel, Newcastle
"We never 'go back' but we came back here! It's so nice to stay somewhere beautiful like this, where the only nightlife is an owl." - Debbie & Nigel, Leeds
Vince and Maria were wonderful hosts and their luxury gite was amazing and a welcome surprise. They both made us feel at home, and were there when we needed advice and left us to enjoy the surroundings with the fabulous pool. The area is exceptional with so many places of interest to visit. The views from the balcony were brilliant, with hot air balloons passing overhead which were beautiful and made for a great area to chill and enjoy a glass of wine or a beer... one week wasn't enough so we will be back. The garden was very relaxing with hammocks for chilling, table tennis and a badminton net, great for anyone with kids. We would highly recommend - you won't be disappointed...
I believe our stay at Tree Tops exceeded our expectations. Tree Tops is a very comfortable and relaxing home from home. It is extremely well kitted out and tastefully decorated. Whilst located in a beautiful spot where you can enjoy the peaceful scenery from your own balcony it is also great base from where you can explore the Dordogne.
A big thank you to Vincent and Maria who are the perfect hosts and their warm welcome as well as their recommendations on local restaurants and wines were much appreciated.
Our hosts were most welcoming and helped greatly with our questions regarding where to visit, park, etc. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The fresh eggs, bacon and other goodies they provided in the barn were a lovely touch. Everything was spotless in the barn and the private areas around the sparkling pool had been given a great deal of consideration for guests. We loved it so much we would like to revisit - next time for 2 weeks.
What a beautiful place it really is a little piece of paradise. It was recommended to us by close friends and it exceeded our expectations. We were greeted by vincent and Maria who are the most lovable people you could meet. Our Gite was gorgeous and immaculate and Maria bless her had made us a lasagne as we were arriving late and it was our honeymoon and it was the best lasagne i have ever had. Nothing was to much trouble and it was a pleasure to meet such lovely people. We cant wait to go back as it has everything from the peace and tranquility and loved chatting to Vincent and Maria. I cant thank them enough for sharing there beautiful Gite with us and we truely can not wait to book up for next year. Thank you again for making our Honeymoon love Mr & Mrs Ranger
We stayed in this lovely gite from 17-24 September 2016. The accommodation had everything we needed including an extremely well-equipped kitchen, a modern bathroom with an excellent shower, a big comfy bed and places to sit and relax while reading or watching TV. The balcony with its far reaching wonderful views of the beautiful Dordogne countryside is the perfect place to sit at any time of the day, watching the air balloons go by, eating, drinking, watching the sun go down, enjoying the peace and quiet, and just feeling total deep-down relaxation take hold of you. It was a real pleasure for us to meet Vincent and Maria who could not have been more helpful and friendly. On their recommendation we went to the brilliant Sunday market at St Cyprien and as we drove there it seemed every car in the area was heading in that direction. We can definitely recommend the lasagne we bought there!
We visited Montpazier, a 13th century bastide town founded by Edward I, we went to Domme and Sarlat and climbed up to the castle at Beynac, and also explored the little church in St Cybranet. The weather and the views were wonderful wherever we went, and on our last day we bought delicious pastries from the patisserie in Castelnaud and walked by the river in the still warm sunshine.
A week is not long enough to explore everything this area has to offer, we were extremely sad to leave, and we would definitely like to stay here again.
Thank you Vincent and Maria for a wonderful week.
Anne and Ken, Yorkshire
We are a couple from Australia. We spent 3 weeks touring SW France in October this year, with one week staying at Les Brugettes at St Cybranet in the Treetops gite. First the location - close to several small villages with restaurants and shops, and amidst the spectacular villages of Domme, Beynac and La Rogue - Gageac. A short drive to famed Sarlat and all the prehistoric sites along the Vizere valley including Lascaux 2 and Font de Gaume cave paintings. The gite itself was terrific. Spacious, good bed, modern bathroom kitchen, all very clean and well thought out. Wood stove for chilly nights if required but has good hot water and heating radiators including towel rack. Outstanding view from the balcony (and from the bed!) of the farms and countryside on the other side of the valley. A very lovely welcoming bottle of champagne, baguette, bacon and eggs! Hosts Vince and Maria were really helpful giving recommendations for restaurants and assisting with tourist queries, and just being a genuinely friendly couple. We would not hesitate to recommend this gite and we hope to re-visit in the near future!
