This beautiful Isle of Wight holiday cottage is located on the High Street in the heart of historic Yarmouth – one of the gateways to the Isle of Wight. Lavender Cottage, an end of terrace 3 bedroom Victorian town house, was renovated and extended in 2013/14 and is full of period features. With spacious rooms, high specification kitchen and bathrooms, this very grand residence is a few minutes walk away from the Solent and village green in one direction and Yarmouth’s fashionable shops, restaurants and pubs in the other direction.

You will enter a high ceilinged hallway which leads, on the ground floor, to a large sitting room and separate kitchen/breakfast room. A glazed end wall and French door opens onto a private courtyard garden. On the first floor you will find a double bedroom, family bathroom, and a grand master bedroom with ensuite shower room. Up a further (very steep and narrow staircase) is a further double bedroom with a sea view from the front window. The main house has gas central heating via radiators and underfloor heating in the kitchen/breakfast room, ideal for holidays and short breaks all year round.

1 well behaved dog accepted. Cycles can be stored in garden outhouse by prior arrangement.

Please note that, like many properties in Yarmouth, this cottage does not have allocated parking. Visitor car parking permits are available for your use which allow free parking within designated bays, many of which are within easy reach of the cottage. You can also buy Tourist Permits valid for use in the majority of on and off street pay and display parking bays across the entire Island.

Guests staying for 7 nights or more are welcomed with a hamper of local island produce. A typical hamper will include milk, cheese, butter, biscuits, lemonade, jam, cake, eggs, (items can be swapped on request). Coffee, tea & sugar are also provided in the property.

Yarmouth is a beautiful town at the mouth of the River Yar and is full of history such as the 16th century Yarmouth castle and Grade II listed pier, both offering magnificent views of the Solent. The small streets are charming, the shops a delight and there is a plentiful array of pubs and restaurants. Nearby attractions include Fort Victoria and Needles Park. Yarmouth is in the heart of splendid countryside with the River Yar estuary, Bouldnor, Hamstead and Newtown offering great places for walking or cycling.

With easy access to Yarmouth ferry port, coastal walks and cycle trails this Isle of Wight holiday cottage is ideal for walkers and cyclists – please ask for our discounted foot & vehicle ferry deals and our car-free travel packs when booking. Note in 2017 there is building work diagonally opposite the cottage. There may be occasional noise, especially if you are in the front of the cottage. The work is usually restricted to week days between 8m and 5pm.

Great stay at Lavender Cottage

We had a wonderful stay at lavender cottage, it was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated, really felt like a home away from home. There was a lovely hamper of local produce upon arrival and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location is fantastic, just a quick stroll into Yarmouth and a stones throw away from Yarmouth common by the sea - which the dog loved, we will be back next year!

A lovely house refurbished to a high standard and tastefully decorated.

Good sized bedrooms but top room has tricky stairs and gets very hot! Kitchen well appointed but a squeeze for larger groups.location is excellent.

We are having a gorgeous summer on the Island and the top floor bedroom is getting hot - the owners are looking to address this. Please do look at the photos to see the stairs as they are tricky especially for young children and those with limited mobility - but part of the property's charm! And worth it for the sea view!
