We call this small wooden house A Curripa. It accommodates 2 (+1) people. It's surrounded by meadows and forests, and only 12 kms. from the sea. The place is great to discover Galicia: there are spectacular beaches, historic villages like Pontedeume and Betanzos, and hiking trails like the Natural Park Fragas do Eume. The area is very quiet and ideal for couples, families or young adventurers and their pets.
The cabin has 30sqm and a generous porch. Inside there is a bedroom with double bed, wardrobe and a chest of drawers; a renovated bathroom with shower, and an open living space and kitchen. There is a sofa-bed in the living room that allows an additional person to stay. The kitchen is well equipped in kitchenware, there is a refrigerator, an oven and an electric stove.
All in all it is a comfortable, bright, beautiful home, very harmonious in its surroundings. Outside there is a barbecue and a table with benches for outdoor dining. It's a great place for picnics and cookouts. There is also parking space for two vehicles and a small warehouse.
The property has 1.500 sqm and is surrounded by mature trees: there is a magnolia and a red beech, fir, chestnut, cedar, oak, birch, red maple, hydrangeas, etc..
A nearby old barn, the Palleira, is also available for holiday rentals (accommodates 4+2).

Hi, we're three behind this holiday house, I'm Nuria and there is Sixto, my husband and our daughter who is now 12. I will be available by phone for any assistance or info needed (EN,DE,FR) and will usually be around during school holidays, in our a nearby home. Anxeles, who lives close to us and looks after our house in Galicia, will be the one welcoming our guests. We've lived abroad for many years, but we regularly come back to this wonderful valley. This unique place has drawn us, since more than 25 years, providing both a genuine contact with nature and peace: here one can breathe the best of Galicia. We will employ every income in maintaining the environment and hope that this enchanted place will please our guests as much as it pleases us.
Nuria purchased this House in 2016
Why Nuria chose Monfero
What makes this small house unique is its setting. The property comprises 15 acres of land (6 Has), a water mill, a small river island planted with hydrangeas, woods, paths and meadows. It is not uncommon to find animals of the forests and the vegetation is typically Atlantic, ferns and mosses in the shady banks of the river, meadow wildflowers, mushrooms in season and diversity of trees in the forests.
What makes this House unique
In all it’s a great place to enjoy nature and tranquility and well connected to discover Galicia, a region that never disappoints.

The house is located in the North of Galicia, somehow less touristic than the South, at a short 7 miles (12 kms.) from the spectacular scenery of the coast and beaches and not far away from medieval villages like Pontedeume or Betanzos, in both of which one can find markets, restaurants and shopping.
Galicia is not really large: the A9 motorway that runs from NE to SW allows easy touring to its monumental-towns. Pontevedra or Santiago de Compostela have both beautiful old quarters and an amazing gastronomic offer together with the best white wines in the country. Also A Coruña makes for another lovely excursion to visit the old town, the central market, the harbour or the Aquarium.
Besides, the coast offers sandy beaches and old fishing villages that are worth a visit like Redes, Ares or Cedeira. There are also historic gardens and spas in the area. In terms of sports, one can find the best sailing, golf and hiking routes like the one of the Natural Park Fragas do Eume, an ancient forest along the river Eume.
In all, Galicia is a wonderful region to enjoy a memorable holiday, with a temperate weather, sunny and warm in summer and variable the rest of the year, that never disappoints visitors.
