Abberley House is a detached thatched cottage located in the village of North Gorley near Fordingbridge, within the New Forest. The accommodation is full of character yet modern, with low beams in the original part of the house, and has two wood burners for the cold winter nights. The house is ideal for family units or a group of friends and sleeps 6 people - the two double rooms can accommodate a travel cot with no charge for the extra guest. The third bedroom can be set up as twin beds or a double bed. The garden is mainly laid to lawn, and is private and well maintained. There is parking for two cars at the rear of the property and access to a secure store for your bikes (please note access to the driveway is narrow and will not suit all vehicles - alternative parking is available in the village).

This is a beautiful cottage in a wonderful location
This cottage is stunning in the most wonderful location. The local donkeys, ponies, cows and deer visited the front garden each day. The children were enthralled. The house was very clean and well equipped for our family of 6. Everything you could possibly need, for a family with teenagers and younger children. There is so much to do in this area we struggled to fit it all into our two weeks. Nobody wanted to go home and we would love to return. I cannot recommend this property enough.
Thank you Tracy for this fantastic review. We are so glade to hear you had a great time and we hope to see you all again in the future.
Beautiful character property in a fabulous location
We stayed for a week in August 2 adults and kids 16, 11 & 9. The booking process was very easy & we had regular contact with Nikki right up until our arrival. We were able to get into the cottage earlier on our first day which was very kind of Nikki. It was easy to find and fabulously located next door to a very good pub which we would highly recommend. The donkeys, cows and horses were regular visitors & the kids loved this. The cottage itself was very clean, tidy & well equipped. The resident robin joined us for breakfast every morning in the garden. Some quite low ceilings but we managed fine and my husband is 6ft 2.5. Beds were very comfy. Kids were delighted with the range of games that were available to play & selection of dvd's to watch in their rooms. Lovely big conservatory to sit & have evening meals in with views onto the rear garden. Hockey's farm shop down the road is a must. We frequented Waitrose in Ringwood nearby for our shopping & enjoyed a fabulous Italian at Lovitaly. Only 20 mins away from fabulous beaches in Dorset. We would thoroughly recommend this beautiful cottage for a family holiday. Thank you so much Nikki.
We are so pleased you had a great holiday at the house. Thank you for this review and we hope to see you again soon.
Great Family Break
Beautiful cottage in a lovely setting. We stayed at the cottage for our summer holiday, it was a great base for days out exploring the New Forest and further beyond to the Dorset Coast. The regular visits from the ponies and donkeys were enjoyed by all. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and well equipped, we couldn't think of anything we would have changed for our holiday. It was lovely to meet with the owners, who were very helpful - Thanks Nikki and Alan for a great family break!
I am so glade you enjoyed your stay at the House. Thanks for this great review and it was a real pleasure to meet you and the family.
Excellent new year in wonderfully situated cottage
What a way to spend the new year, In this well maintained and excellently situated cottage. Horses and donkeys right outside our front window!!. The surrounding area allowed us to have a different 'Pub Walk' every day. I would highly recommend staying here and will certainly be booking to come back in the summer to explore the area in the summer climate.
Good week in a lovely house
Six adults shared this house for a week's holiday and we found it ideal. As a base for days out it was perfect. Lots of space and the facilities are modern in a vintage setting. The pub next door is a great bonus. As the house is very old it's original ceiling in the middle room is a bit low but not a problem once you get used to it! We parked our oversized vehicle on the grass verge further along from the pub with no problems. We met the owners who were very amenable and friendly. Would highly recommend this fantastic cottage if you are looking for accommodation in this beautiful area. Great stay!
Had a wonderful weekend break at Abberley House to celebrate my husbands birthday. The cottage is extremely well appointed, beautifully furnished and everything was spotlessly clean and tidy.
The surrounding area is lovely for walking with plenty of wildlife around. The pub next door serves very good food and is child friendly although they do not provide high chairs.
We couldn't have asked for more and would love to return one day.
Our thanks to David and Linley.
