About Paul Belton
Hi, I'm Paul. When I bought the property it was a disused tea room. The intention was to do a 'cheap and cheerful' renovation but I got a bit carried away. You'll see what I mean when you stay!
Paul Belton purchased this Cottage in 2007
Why Paul Belton chose Rowen
A haven of tranquility, situated so close to the river that you a can hear it as you lie in bed simply by opening a window. For a more mindful experience sit on the bench next to the river, just outside the gate - simply sit, close your eyes and listen.
What makes this Cottage unique
Probably the oldest property in the village; thick river stone walls keep it cool in summer whist the central heating and log burner make it toasty warm in Winter.

Beautiful cottage in superb location.
A lovely break
A pretty cottage which was perfect for the two of us. It is in a unique setting next to a stream and in an excellent location for exploring the area. The property description led us to believe there was parking for the cottage but the lay-by was always full with other cars/vans so we had to park elsewhere. The cottage is well equipped and the bed is really comfortable. There is a brilliant shower and the best selection of dvds we've ever seen in a rental property. The locals are friendly and there is a great pub just up the road. Would definitely book again.
Great time apart from the rain!! Lovely cottage and local pub! We will be back!! Thanks Duncan & Cleuza
Nice place to relax
Thank you Susan 😊
Absolutely beautiful cottage and location to match
The cottage was perfect for the two of us. Spotless and everything you’d need if self catering, although the pub opposite had delicious food, so why bother doing it yourself! Beautiful location with so much to see nearby, either on foot or a short drive away. Highly recommended
Thank you both - glad you enjoyed yourself! Best wishes. Paul
Perfect place to get away from it all
What a find! The cottage is in a beautiful location and has everything you need for recharging your batteries. Tastefully decorated and furnished. If you're feeling energetic there are lovely walks from right outside the door
But if you just want to relax the cottage has a fabulous log fire (logs provided), an assortment of games and books and a great little pub across the road. We will definitely be returning to this little gem in the future.
Thank you Deb! Wishing you both a very happy Christmas 👶⭐️
The local Ty Gwyn pub is lively & friendly, serving great food & a selection of lagers, bitters, wines & a very nice pint of Guinness! There is also a church in the village which has an English speaking service on the last Sunday of each month.
The Dutch Pancake House about half a mile away services great pancakes (as you would expect :) and also has a free wildlife walk with Capybara, Otters, Chickens & Ducks and has a reptile house which is also free entry.

Conwy is a 10 minute drive away & its setting is spectacular, framed by the foothills of Snowdonia and gazing across the Conwy Estuary. The quay and old harbour are host to an active small fishing fleet and the fascinating Conwy Mussel Museum. Llandudno is one of the finest traditional seaside resorts in the world & is a 20-minute drive. A splendid promenade spans the gently curving bay between the headlands of the Great Orme and the Little Orme. There's a lovely second beach on the West Shore.
Conwy town is 7-miles, or 10-minutes by car, away.
There is a variety of restaurants, fish & chip shops (The Harbour View in Deganwy is the best!), banks & a Tesco supermarket/fuel station in Conwy.
