A fantastic holiday and stay
Absolutely value for money, better than expected from mixed reviews. Will definitely look into going back in the future.
Quaint cottage does need some updating. Garden lovely but grass needed mowing. Overall most enjoyable holiday.
Two very enjoyable and memorable stays
I first stayed at this cottage for 4 nights in May 2019 in honour of my "Golden Girl" Lily, my beautiful Cocker Spaniel. The cottage was everything I imagined and was just like the photos on the web. There is only space for one car outside on the main road and it's necessary to park alongside
the cottage's front wall as close as possible, but despite being busy with traffic with the occasional large lorry passing through, I found it very peaceful inside and also in the private, long enclosed garden at the back. There are several steep steps up to the garden so for an old and large dog it would be useful to take a ramp but it would be well worth it. The cottage is cosy, warm and spacious. I was lucky with the weather and the walk to the stunning local beach is only a short distance away with the option to walk along it further it to the dog friendly Ty Coch pub which is right on the beach which is about a 30 min walk one way from the cottage. An alternative is to walk along the golf course if the tide is in. It's not possible to drive to the Ty Coch unless you're staying there but it's possible to leave your car at the nearby golf club car park for a fee of £4 or £5 or at the National Trust car park just before the golf club for £4. On my second visit in September I took my parents' rescue Jack Russell, Louis who they've only had 5 months for 3 nights. It was his first holiday and he thoroughly enjoyed the cottage, especially the garden and the sunroom. He was made welcome inside at the Ty Coch pub on the beach as well as inside the very attractive and friendly "Cliffs Inn" close to the local beach, where the coffee is deliciously large and hot. The dog friendly beach of Aberdaron is a short drive away with the dog friendly Ty Newydd Hotel overlooking the beach and the dog friendly Ship Hotel opposite. I've enjoyed both of my stays so much I am planning to go again next May for a third stay and a longer one, with Louis and this time my partner Robin. I only wish I could have stayed longer on my first and second visits. It is necessary to take your own bedding, towels and teatowels, but that is reflected in the reasonable price. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. Penny.
The cottage looked quite neglected from the road. There were thick cobwebs in every room. Shake and vac disguising a funny smell. Light bulbs missing from kitchen and bathroom and landing light didn't work at all. The road outside is very busy with large lorries throughout the day. The back garden has 3 steep steps upto which our old dog had difficulty with.
On the plus side you use your own bedding and towels and the walk to the beach is only 10 minutes and the back garden is fully enclosed.
Very clean and comfortable.
Great location, lovely little cottage. Good garden for the dog.
We really enjoyed our stay.
