About Paul Jackson
My wife and I are keen walkers and cyclists and also enjoy good food and drink. I myself ride motorcycles and the Lake District offers some of the most fantastic roads and scenery you will find in the UK. We have been married for many years (since 1979) and have two children (now adults themselves!) who share our love of the Lake District. I promise you......once you have been you will be bitten by its beauty!

Exactly what it says on the tin
I used this apartment for 3 nights with my girlfriend and two kids. It ticked all the boxes for what we required for our stay. It was close to the town and lake, rooms were big enough for us to decamp, all the electrics worked, and we were able to enjoy a fantastic break away.
If you are looking for state of the art, wifi, spacious living, then this is not for you. But to be honest, no wifi was one of the highlights. Seeing the girls play cards, sit and watch family movies in the evening, take long walks, and actually chatting was a nice change.
Paul was helpful throughout and very quick to respond to any issues/questions I needed answering.
The location could not be more perfect and I would happily use this as a base again on any travels to the area.
Perfect for our needs
Perfect for our needs as we were out all day and needed a base to sleep and eat - the property was small but perfectly formed, clean, and central with good parking, The only thing missing was a pair of oven gloves. We would definitely return. Thank you!

Convenient apartment to the lake
We rented this apt for our visit to the Lake District. It was exactly as shown. Very clean and everything one might need. It was convenient to the city center. It isn't made clear as to how to get to the center. We were taken by taxi from the train station to the apt and we didn't know exactly where the streets were located to the apt. I just happen to see someone appear walking up the hill from below. And, I happen to notice a walkway to get to apt from the upper part of the center. I think the need to top up the electrical meter should be stated before renting the apt. That information is in the letter of do and don't for the apt. We had two tours scheduled for the two days we were there. One tour was for a half day and started later in the day. Fortunately, we had the opportunity to top up the meter. I would have rather have spent the time seeing the city center rather looking for a place to buy more electrical time. Since we knew that there would not be wifi, it wasn't a problem. Would have been nice to have had it but we made do.
It is a nice place in a beautiful area of the country. I think it was a very good value for the money.
Brilliant location right in Bowness
Despite showing some signs of 'wear' this is a very nice 2 bed apartment which can get the evening sun on the balcony. The best point however is the location as its literally only a short walk down the hill to the heart of Bowness.

Travel: Windermere train station approximately 1.5 miles from Bowness, Taxi and bus services available from train station. Approximately 30 minutes walk from the station. Further Details: Taxis, bus services, local food stores, banks/cash machines, pubs/bars, restaurants, Lake side sailing, Cinema, Tennis, Beatrix Potter museum, Luxury shopping all within a short stroll of the apartment. Booths super-store located at the top of Windermere village.

Booking Notes: Bed linen and towels are provided at an extra cost of £10 per bedroom or if you wish you may bring your own. Booking dates to be agreed with owner via website/telephone. Notification and any attachments will be via e-mail. Deposit payment required on confirmation of the letting date (not refundable if within six weeks of letting date) Deposit & final payment via bank transfer. Final balance to be paid four weeks prior to letting date. Changeover Day: Arrival time 03:OOpm on the first letting date booked. Vacate the apartment by 10:00am the following morning from the last letting date booked. Change over day is variable.
