Wonderful apartment in every way!
We have just spent the May weekend at this superb apartment which surpassed all our expectations. It is in a prime location in the town, easy for visiting shops, bars, restaurants, golf course and the beach. The views are quite spectacular and we found we were constantly drawn to the windows in order to just admire the landscape. Everything in this flat is carefully planned and executed in order to add to the guest’s comfort. The owners, Brenda and Roy were always close at hand in the gallery below to offer any advice if needed. We enjoyed our stay so much that we hope to return at some point in the near future. We would gladly recommend this accommodation to anyone who would wish to visit this spectacular part of the country. It’s a gem of a place!
Great family weekend away
We had a lovely family holiday at Craigview apartments thank you. Accommodation had everything you would need for a comfortable stay, with a real homely feel. The owner was very friendly and helpful. North Berwick is a wonderful town, lovely beach, independent shops, and plenty of food and drink outlets. We will be back!
Graigview - a gem !
Spacious, clean, comfortable, nicely furnished, well equipped ...and sea views. The perfect place for 3 adult couples, 1 gran and 2 grandchildren to celebrate gran's 80th in our childhood holiday destination. We had not been to North Berwick for nearly 40 years and within no time we were all beguiled by its old seaside charm - it has remained unspoilt but has gone a little bit more upmarket - which is great,
Craigview was the perfect place to stay. Excellent location at the quite end of the high street - just a few hundred yards from shops and restaurants one way, the train station into Edinburgh the other, and the beach the other. The apartment is very large and very well equipped. Roy and Brenda are charming hosts and always available in the gift store next door if you need anything. The 10% discount in the store was an added bonus which we used rather a lot!
This is an excellent property, great value and I would recommend it to any group. We would certainly use again - hopefully we won't leave it 40 years next time!
Property easily met expectations, lovely views, great location and very clean.
A fantastic apartment in a great location. Beautifully decorated, clean and well equipped. The owners left us a fantastic welcome pack with everything we needed for our first night. Views of the seafront from the property and the beach being just across the road was the icing on the cake. I would highly recommend a stay here.
Thank you for your kind comments. We try to make everyone's stay as pleasant as possible but nature has certainly given us a head start with the views across to the islands and Fife coast!
Very spacious and comfortable - well situated in North Berwick for the beach, golf, and lovely High
Property was in excellent condition, as described was well maintained and met all our needs. The owner provided friendly advise - I would definitely recommend to family and friends
North Berwick is surrounded by lovely beaches, the closest of which can be seen from the apartment and is only a minute's walk away. The town itself has two typically Scottish beaches of golden sand, rocks and pools (the east and west bays), both handily placed for the town centre shops, restaurants and ice-cream sellers.
Between them lies the harbour and the multi award-winning Scottish Seabird Centre visitor attraction, from where boat trips go round the Bass Rock and other islands.
There is a direct rail link to North Berwick from Edinburgh's main Waverley Station; the apartment is a short walk from the station.
North Berwick is a few miles off the main A1 road route that runs from Edinburgh south to Berwick-upon-Tweed, on to Newcastle and eventually becomes the A1/M1 all the way to London.
Edinburgh Airport is about 55km away. There is an airport shuttle bus to the centre of Edinburgh, from where you can easily transfer to the train at Waverley Station.
Situated 25 miles from Edinburgh, easily accessible by a 35 minute train journey to and from the heart of the city, North Berwick is one of Scotland's loveliest seaside resorts. With beautiful golden beaches, two golf courses, a high street full of interesting boutique shops and art galleries, lots of places to eat and drink and a multitude of local attractions, it is a great base for exploring this part of Scotland and the nation's capital.
There is a fine selection of independent specialist shops and galleries in the town centre, including our own Westgate Galleries.
The high street has an award winning butcher, a deli, a independent wine and whisky shop, and convenience stores that can cater for your self-catering needs. There are also a couple of larger supermarkets on the outskirts of town although we would encourage you to support our local high street traders wherever possible.
There are plenty of restaurants in the town, including Chinese, Indian, Thai, Italian and a steakhouse, with several takeaway outlets as well. There are also several pubs and hotels offering food along with their fine beers, wines and spirits.
North Berwick is home to the award-winning Scottish Seabird Centre, with the National Museum of Scotland's Flight Museum nearby at East Fortune, and two Historic Scotland properties at Tantallon and Dirleton castles a short trip away. Only slightly further afield are John Muir's Birthplace, The Saltire Centre, Myreton Motor Museum, Hailes Castle, Musselburgh Racecourse and Glenkinchie Distillery.
The spectacular Bass Rock, which lies just offshore in the Firth of Forth has been described by Sir David Attenborough as “one of the 12 wildlife wonders of the world”.
Being only a 35 minute train journey from the heart of Edinburgh, North Berwick is the perfect base for combining the delights of the Scottish outdoors with the excitement of one of the great “must-see” cities of the world.
