Ideal for what we needed
We've stayed in North Berwick for the last 10 years consecutively, previously in The County Hotel. This accommodation was far superior in every way and more practical for a group of golfers. Parking wasn't a problem and we were very impressed by the property, its location and value for money. We will definitely book again next year
Thank you for your kind comments. We do get quite a few groups of golfers due to the huge number of courses within easy striking distance. Although parking is restricted immediately outside, guests generally find unrestricted spaces very close by. Looking forward to seeing you again.
A great place to stay in NB. Close to the golf and the town. Excellent space!
We would recommend the property to anyone! Will be on the top of our list for our annual pilgrimage.
Great flat that had everything.... and an amazing view
7 ladies stayed to celebrate a special birthday. Great flat, very comfortable and lots of room for us all.
The perfect holiday house.
The property was perfect for all our family needs. It was very clean and tidy and tastefully decorated. It was close to the beach and shops. On arrival, the owner Roy, was there to show us around and insure, we knew how everything worked. He also contacted us later to make sure we had settled in.I would go back to this property.
Roomy Apartment close to everything...
Our group, 4 men on a Scotland golf trip, found the apartment to be spacious and well stocked. It is close to everything you could need... groceries, retail stores, restaurants and cafes. The location, looking out at the water in North Berwick, is close driving distance to many of the best golf courses Scotland has to offer. Not to mention the N Berwick course, which is a one block walk across the street. The apartment has comfortable beds and furniture throughout. It has high ceilings and a well stocked kitchen. 5 stars for the apartment and Roy as the host. Thanks!
Thank you for your kind comments. We are indeed fortunate to be just a few yards from the North Berwick West Links, regularly voted one of the world's best courses. Hopefully, we will see you back in Scotland again soon.
Perfect location, great for a large family!
The pictures couldn’t possibly do this place justice. It was immaculate and clean, decorated to make you feel at home, comfortable and spacious with enough room for our large family to spread out. We all enjoyed being able to cook meals in the well equipped kitchen, and the kids appreciated the beach toys on hand! This location truly couldn’t be more perfect. It is a 2-3 minute walk from the train station or grocery store and no more than 10 minutes walk to get just about anywhere in town. The beach and golf are just steps from the front door, and North Berwick is such a charming little town with so much to do to keep us entertained! Our family doesn’t get to be all together very often as we are spread between Scotland and the United States, so we truly appreciated having such a lovey place to stay together and enjoy each other’s company. We will definitely plan to return!
We are glad that you enjoyed your stay in beautiful North Berwick. We are lucky to have a train line that takes you straight to the heart of Edinburgh, so many visitors from the USA like yourselves like to base themselves here to access the beaches and golf courses as well as the city sights. Hope to see you back.
North Berwick is surrounded by lovely beaches, the closest of which can be seen from the apartment and is only a minute's walk away. The town itself has two typically Scottish beaches of golden sand, rocks and pools (the east and west bays), both handily placed for the town centre shops, restaurants and ice-cream sellers.
Between them lies the harbour and the multi award-winning Scottish Seabird Centre visitor attraction, from where boat trips go round the Bass Rock and other islands.
There is a direct rail link to North Berwick from Edinburgh's main Waverley Station; the apartment is a short walk from the station.
North Berwick is a few miles off the main A1 road route that runs from Edinburgh south to Berwick-upon-Tweed, on to Newcastle and eventually becomes the A1/M1 all the way to London.
Edinburgh Airport is about 55km away. There is an airport shuttle bus to the centre of Edinburgh, from where you can easily transfer to the train at Waverley Station.
Situated 25 miles from Edinburgh, easily accessible by a 35 minute train journey to and from the heart of the city, North Berwick is one of Scotland's loveliest seaside resorts. With beautiful golden beaches, two golf courses, a high street full of interesting boutique shops and art galleries, lots of places to eat and drink and a multitude of local attractions, it is a great base for exploring this part of Scotland and the nation's capital.
There is a fine selection of independent specialist shops and galleries in the town centre, including our own Westgate Galleries.
The high street has an award winning butcher, a deli, a independent wine and whisky shop, and convenience stores that can cater for your self-catering needs. There are also a couple of larger supermarkets on the outskirts of town although we would encourage you to support our local high street traders wherever possible.
There are plenty of restaurants in the town, including Chinese, Indian, Thai, Italian and a steakhouse, with several takeaway outlets as well. There are also several pubs and hotels offering food along with their fine beers, wines and spirits.
North Berwick is home to the award-winning Scottish Seabird Centre, with the National Museum of Scotland's Flight Museum nearby at East Fortune, and two Historic Scotland properties at Tantallon and Dirleton castles a short trip away. Only slightly further afield are John Muir's Birthplace, The Saltire Centre, Myreton Motor Museum, Hailes Castle, Musselburgh Racecourse and Glenkinchie Distillery.
The spectacular Bass Rock, which lies just offshore in the Firth of Forth has been described by Sir David Attenborough as “one of the 12 wildlife wonders of the world”.
Being only a 35 minute train journey from the heart of Edinburgh, North Berwick is the perfect base for combining the delights of the Scottish outdoors with the excitement of one of the great “must-see” cities of the world.
