Located on the cliff top of Porto de Mos, this stunning apartment has endless uninterrupted sea views, set in a peaceful area on the outskirts of the beautiful town of Lagos. This new property is furnished to an exceptionally high standard with a modern yet eminently comfortable style and equipped with everything you might need for your stay. It is fully air conditioned with all modern facilities and a very large south facing terrace for sun bathing and outdoor dining. The complex has a gym, jacuzzi spa, sauna and heated indoor swimming pool. There is a beautiful feature outdoor pool with children’s pool situated amongst landscaped sub tropical gardens overlooking the sea. Please note we do have the Internet but we DO NOT have SKY TV.

We live in the UK and have six children! Two school aged and four grown-up and we love coming to Portugal.

We live on the edge of the Peak District which is really beautiful so we needed our holiday home to be really special.

Why Melanie Buchanan chose Porto de Mós

We fell in love with Portugal about 10 years ago and have finally bitten the bullet and bought our holiday apartment in the Algarve.

If you want unsurpassed views of the sea sitting on the terrace as the sun sets sipping some local vino verde or champagne then our apartment is ideal. Having the indoor leisure facility is a real bonus, at first we questioned the need for an indoor pool but we are total converts, when the weather is not ideal it comes into its own and really saves the day!

The location is second to none with easy access to Porto de Mos beach and Lagos town centre 5 minutes away in the car or taxi. There is also a local bus.

What makes this apartment unique

We are passionate about offering great quality accommodation and as such have spared no expense on the fixtures and fittings. The apartment is well equipped with all you need, champagne flutes in our opinion are a necessity not a luxury!

The garden apartment uniquely offers direct access to the pool, if you want to pop back from the pool for a drink it's easy, no stairs or lifts to contend with. There are two great bars/restaurants right on Porto de Mos beach which is a 2 minute walk from the apartment.

Exactly what it says on the tin

My partner and I made a last-minute decision to take our 3.5yo daughter away for half term and opted for self-catering for the first time. We couldn't have picked a better place. The apartment is exactly as shown in the pictures: spacious, bright, tasteful. Everything in the kitchen—hobs, toaster, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine—works well (except for the frightening looking coffee machine; we used the plunger instead). Mel and Dan were very helpful with queries and directions. There is ample outside space for lying in the sun, in the shade, by the pool, and, even though it was late October, we had every meal on the terrace (buying our food at a nearby minimarket). We went to a different beach each day but never needed to drive far. We also visited the zoo one day: it was shady and tranquil, with sandy paths and free-roaming wallabies. We would definitely return to Lagos and, in particular, to this apartment.

Fabulous modern apartment in a spectacular setting. It is wonderfully spacious with a direct access to garden and outdoor living area. Perfect for sunbathing and large family lunches! It is beautifully furnished and very well equipped.

Proximity to the beach was very important to me and didn't disappoint. Porto de Mós beach is accessed down a cliff path, its a little bumpy and hilly but that didn't stop me popping down on a few occasions each day, beautiful way to catch the sun! There is also a beautiful cliff walk to the nearby resort of Luz, good footwear advised for that one.

The apartment and location suited our needs as a family of 6, with 4 adult children, the site was quite at his time of the season, but perfect for relaxing.

The owner Melanie was very accommodating and her agent on site helpful and friendly. We look forward to our return trip in the near future.

What can we say, perfect apartment in a perfect setting. Families on site are friendly and welcoming. Lovely walks from the site, steep walk down to the beach but only a few mins away.

This is a gem of an apartment and really worth the money.

Fabulous apartment

We have had the most wonderful relaxing fortnight at this wonderful apartment. We felt very privileged as we were the first guests to stay in the apartment & we enjoyed it so much we were tempted not to write a review to let everyone know how good it was, as we thought we might just try to keep it to ourselves, however we decided that was a bit selfish!

As the apartment is newly built everything is obviously brand new. It is very tastefully furnished in a clean contemporary style and is exceptionally well equipped with everything you could need for a relaxing break.

The location is stunning, extremely peaceful and so close to a fantastic beach (5 mins walk downhill). The are 2 great restaurants right on the beach, Antonio's soon became our favourite for it's wonderful seafood and friendly, welcoming staff (especially to our 9 year old son), it is also exceptional value for money. The restaurant is open all year round however in the peak summer months you need to book as it is so popular.

While we were there we found there were only ever 8 or 9 apartments occupied at any time, and at certain times of the day we had the pool to ourselves. The outdoor area is super, with a beautiful pool set in landscaped gardens, with plenty of space for children to run around, play bat & ball etc in a secure area. The indoor pool is a real bonus, as during the heat of the day when it was hot for our son, he played with his friends in the indoor pool leaving us to relax with a book in the garden - bliss! The sauna and jacuzzi were also well used although we couldn't quite find the energy to hit the gym, we were on holiday after all!

As I wrote earlier the apartment is in a very peaceful location, it would be quite a long walk into Lagos (not that you need to with such good restaurants on your doorstep) however taxis are available. We had a car for the full fortnight which certainly made trips to the supermarket easier. Lagos is well situated for getting out & about , we visited Monchique, Sagres & the lovely old town of Silves where we've stayed several times in the past. Luz and the quaint town of Burgau are also worth visiting and we also did the obligatory trip to "Slide & Splash". Lagos marina offers loads of boat trips, we did the Dolphin Watching trip on the Tornado, the highlight of the holiday for us, as we had a pod of about 20 dolphins with their pups swimming alongside the boat - fantastic!

A very memorable holiday in a beautiful apartment.

Coast/Beach:

The stunning beach is only 2 minutes walk away as well as two wonderful beach front restaurants. A few minutes in the car or by local bus you are in the centre of the historic town of Lagos with its maze of cobbled streets and colourful market square offering a large variety of restaurants, bars, cafés, shopping and markets. Or stroll along the promenade to the Marina complex and admire the luxury yachts whilst relaxing with a drink over lunch at one of the many marina bars or restaurants.

Faro airport 75 km.

Distances:

Lagos is a really lovely resort surrounded by numerous beautiful sandy beaches, and has a modern Marina, and an old walled town centre surrounded by town walls. The town centre itself consists of a sizeable area of cobbled streets free of traffic with literally hundreds of street cafes and bars, and numerous quality shops many selling local crafts. In the evening the town is very vibrant with the street cafes always busy and a variety of small market stalls and entertainment.

Lagos offers stunning beaches,lively old town crammed with restaurants,bars and classy gift shops. Fishing,boat trips ,dolphin watching trips can all be taken from the marina and riverside. Quality golf courses are close by, A modern water park is 20 minutes away.

The town of Portimao is only 15 minutes away by car and also has some stunning large sandy beaches with a long board walk at the rear of the beach with many beach bars. Portimao also has a brand new shopping mall (mainly clothes and household goods) and a large retail outlet park (supermarkets, electrical etc..)

Inland from the coast north of Lagos the terrain rises toward the area of Monchique with its natural spas and green countryside.

There is also a brand new Formula 1 racing track 15 minutes north in the foothills which also has a great go-kart circuit.

The climate is excellent with sunshine March through to October and even in the other months .. Long warm sunny days are the norm.
