Why Matt & Kate White chose Winchester
We bought our house together with our converted stables/coach house, as this is a stunning period property in a superb village location on the edge of the beautiful and historic City of Winchester. Mildmay House was formerly the Vicarage in Twyford and has stunning views of the Church and water meadows beyond.
What makes this Barn unique
The property is in a quiet location and a short stroll from the Village shop, post office and pubs, and there is very easy access to hustle and bustle of Winchester. Having a car is not necessary as bus and train are easy walking distance.

Weekend in Hampshire
We had a lovely time in this dear converted barn. The owners, Kate and Matt were charming and very helpful. I can highly recommend this property to anyone.
Charming place in countryside
This property is a very nice coach house with very comfortable living room in cute little town outside of Winchester. Easy access to trains and great walking area.
Lovely short break
Enjoyed a very relaxing break. Lovely walks and local pubs. Very quiet location but within easy reach of Winchester.
A good little find
This is a well presented character property just right for a short stay for two. It would be even better if a couple of practicalities were addressed. First, the water pressure is very low and there is no running hot water in either the bathroom or the kitchen; at best, we were unsuccessful in our attempts to make the system work. Second, the kitchen equipment is minimal; even though we had prepared our meals beforehand we were still short of some basic items needed for cooking. If these two things were rectified we would give it five stars.
Quaint setting and thoughtful host
Kate met and settled us in to her beautiful barn, before leaving us to enjoy our 4 night stay. The accommodation was spotless and we quickly settled, which was important as we stayed with our baby. The area was beautiful and Kate orientated us well to explore the countryside, which was literally on our doorstep. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the area and Kate’s hospitality- we’d love to return!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the converted barn/ coach house near Winchester. It was very easy to relax as the accommodation was very well appointed and very comfortable. We were made to feel really welcome and also had the opportunity to used the courtyard for sunny afternoon cups of tea.
We would certainly recommend this accommodation and would not hesitate to use it again.
