About Matt & Kate White

Matt and Kate White live at this address with their two young children Jack & Harry, and two black labradors Ruby & Lola - all of us are very friendly and look forward to welcoming you.

Matt & Kate White purchased this barn in 2007

Why Matt & Kate White chose Winchester

We bought our house together with our converted stables/coach house, as this is a stunning period property in a superb village location on the edge of the beautiful and historic City of Winchester. Mildmay House was formerly the Vicarage in Twyford and has stunning views of the Church and water meadows beyond.

What makes this barn unique

The property is in a quiet location and a short stroll from the Village shop, post office and pubs, and there is very easy access to hustle and bustle of Winchester.

Having a car is not necessary as bus and train are easy walking distance.

Lovely place to stay. Very comfortable, quiet and well equipped. I especially enjoyed being able to go on walks so close to the Barn. Matt & Kate are very kind and helpful and I would definately recommend this place to others. Teresa Barlow - Somerset - Sept 13.

Kate and Matt made us welcome from the start. Beautiful location in a very old part of England. Easy access to motorway and rail but could be a million miles away. Totally quiet with beautiful walks along the river . We will come back again!!

Relaxing stay

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for 3 nights with my partner. Beautiful and comfortable converted barn in a picturesque area. The host was really welcoming on our arrival. The property is in a good location with an excellent pub within walking distance and a coop less than 10 minutes drive. The 45 minute walk from the cottage to Winchester was also very lovely!

Absolutely perfect! Will recommend :)

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful weekend staying here, the little barn conversion was absolutely perfect! Everything we needed was provided, Kate made us feel very welcome and gave us lots of information about the area on arrival. A beautiful setting right by the church, and a nice pub in the village to eat in the evening. The place was warm, cosy and very clean. We were given space to enjoy our stay, and although we didn't need anything from Kate while we were there, she is just a phone call away if needed. Will recommend this place to others. Thank you!

It was a delightful cozy cottage/barn within walking distance of lovely rivers and fields.

  • 5 of 5

The property is unmistakigly quaint and characterful. It is steeped in history being part of an old homestead that is part of a 12th century church which sits 100 yards away. The area has river walks, fishing and pubs to eat at. (In Twyford village, 10 min walk way). Winchester town itself, with the start of the South Downs walk and shops is only a 15 min drive away.

Wonderful rental property - we had a fabulous time....!!!

  • 5 of 5

My wife Sue and I have a lovely short break staying in this beautiful cosy and comfortable little barn in a wonderful setting right next to a beautiful old Queen Ann Rectory style House and Church. The barn was spotlessly clean, well appointed and good value for money. The location is excellent, we walked across the water meadows, and followed the River Itchen path all the way into Winchester - which took about 45 minutes.

Kate and Matt - were very welcoming and friendly and kind in passing us maps and in recommending things to do and places to eat (Dinner at The Bugle Inn Twyford was delicious) We will certainly be staying again soon! William & Sue.
