This well appointed apartment is part of a family home on the lower ground floor of a Victorian villa. The apartment is situated in a quiet residential area, yet is only a few minutes walk from the thriving independent shops and restaurants of Bruntsfield and Morningside. The city centre, with its renowned historical sites and festival venues, is only a 25 minute walk or 10 minute bus journey away. Guests can enjoy direct access to a large back garden, which is shared with the owners and includes a sand pit and climbing frame. Free parking in the drive at the side of the property is available for one car and more by special arrangement. Wifi is included and the owners are able to provide most baby / toddler accessories you may need. A welcome pack including milk and homebaking will be provided on arrival.

About Caroline Urch

We've lived in Edinburgh for 12 years, and now have three boys along with our dog and two cats. We've been in the area for 10 years as we enjoy the green space it offers and the convenience of all that is on offer.

Why Caroline Urch chose Edinburgh

We love the area with it's independent shops and restaurants. Although we're on a quiet residential street, everything is walking distance including large green spaces with play parks and a short hole golf course. We also benefit from being so close to town either on foot, by car or by bus.

What makes this apartment unique

The property is a ten minute walk from the short hole golf course, a choice of restaurants, independent shops, supermarkets, pharmacies, play parks and wonderful cafes.

The gardens are very secure and safe for young children. There is a pond on a higher level on a rockery. There are also chickens. They are also shared with the owners of the apartment who themselves have a young family and live in the main house above. Cleaning/Towels/Linen: All bed linen and towels are included. A change of bed linen/towels is also supplied for bookings that exceed one week.

Lovely comfortable property full of character

We stayed here with our two grown up children and another adult. The property is a huge grey traditional house in a very pleasant leafy street. We had the use of a beautifully kept peaceful secluded back garden. Inside the rooms were comfortable, large and well appointed with original furniture. I think it was excellent value for the standard of accomodation and we would certainly stay there again were we visiting Edinburgh. There was constant hot water and even five adults managed all to have hot showers every day. There is only one bathroom but one room has a basin and it wasn't an issue for us. I could see that the place would be ideal for a family with younger children as well and the owners had gone out ogf their way to provide toys, games DVD etc for their use. There was also a nice welcome pack.

The centre of Edinburgh is a medium walk or a bus ride and there are lovely shops restaurants and take aways just around the corner.

I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Edinburgh in a group/familywanting a comfortable stay in a spacious well appointed characterful flat.

Great family fun

A fantastic place to stay for a group or family and very accommodating for young children. Walking distance to local amenities and even Edinburgh sites. The owners were very helpful and not intrusive. Bedrooms large and spacious, bathroom is large and clean, slightly challenging sharing out amongst large groups but not a major issue. Overall a brilliant holiday home and would love to return

Great location

The property was in a great location, easy to get into town and around for all main attractions. 1 bathroom was a bit of an issue for 7 adults so perhaps not suitable for a large number unless you're good at holding it ;-) there are a couple of cats that disturbed us in the wee hours so make sure you can lock the cat flap as we failed miserably, sorted eventually. Thanks for a great stay x

Absolutely wonderful

We loved Edinburgh and this property is a great location; very convenient to grocery stores, great take out and to downtown. The apartment is the basement of a very lovely house in a beautiful neighborhood. It is very well equipped and the hosts are very hospitable. A perfect stay.
