Well appointed Gite for a couple with stunning views and great location.
About David Vale
David lives here for approximately 8 months of the year in the house adjacent to our Gite. The Gite was originally a detached annexe to the house and consisted of a small bathroom and bedroom. In 2013 I extended the Annexe to form a Gite and now there is a living area of approx 30 sq. metres as well as a patio of 16 sq. metres with a plunge pool. The attention to fixtures and fitting etc ensures guests will have a relaxing holiday and come to love the region as much as I do. Having been here for 10 years I have accumulated a broad knowledge of the area which hopefully I can pass on to you.
David Vale purchased this Cottage in 2006
Why David Vale chose Ginestas
Its sunny, easy access from the UK, a lot cheaper than expensive Provence, the wine is excellent and it really is a great holiday location. Just look at our guest reviews on our website and you will soon realise this is the perfect holiday.

A holiday to relax and unwind
The gite is situated in the quiet village of Ginestas, close to plenty of places of interest and beauty. We enjoyed our week here and left feeling refreshed, with our batteries fully charged! The gite was light, airy, clean and comfortable with a fabulous view. The plunge pool on the decking was perfect for a dip at the end of a hot day in the sun. The owner of the gite, David, couldn't have been more welcoming and gave us plenty of tips on the best places to visit and where to eat. Don't leave here without visiting Minerve and of course, sampling the local red wines!
Truly grateful for this review. I don’t usually respond to a review of guests as I think this is a bit personal. But this time, I did, 5 stars all round. Please come again and tell your friends. David
Beautiful setting and well maintained Gite
We had a lovely time here, the views from the decking were stunning. The plunge pool is an excellent idea, perfect for cooling off in. The inside of the Gite was done to a high standard and was very comfortable. It was very peaceful and relaxing and in a great location for exploring the local area (by car). The owners were very welcoming and left us to our own devices. We especially liked the cheap and extremely drinkable local wine!
Many thanks for your review, we are delighted you enjoyed your holiday and our Gîte. Please tell your friends and we hope to see you again next year. The wine harvest is the worst ever recorded due to the continued drought so our wine may be a little bit more expensive next year, but we will continue to maintain the high standard for the Gîte.
Excellent location and friendly owners
The gite is very well located - you can either take a stroll in the village, or drive to Haut-Languedoc for hiking and other outdoors activities, or choose to visit one of the beautiful beaches for the day. Very friendly owners who live in the house nearby and can help and/or answer any questions if needed. Overall, we had a great stay!
Comfortable compact gite ideal for a couple. Wonderful views over the village and country beyond.
Restaurant and bar in village congenial, and food is good.
Interesting area, we were fully occupied for the week without going further than about 10 miles.
Derek, next year if you go 20 miles you will increase the area of by fourfold! Pleasure to have you as guests.
Ginestas is a very lovely place to stay.
The gite was very clean and modern, fully equipped and best of all quiet.
The view from outside on the decking was lovely and although there is a small road very near the property the outside area is private.
Internet access was difficult and for most of the time non existent but for some that would be bonus!
The town is within easy walking distance from the gite. It is a very friendly place with a good restaurant and wine bar again within easy walking distance.
The area has much to recommend it. Whether you are interested in wine, good food, history or swimming in the Med, it is all available.
Many thanks for the nice review, the problem with the Internet was caused by a thunderstorm and power cut which made the router stay off. When there is no one in the house it cannot be reset. I am considering locating the router in a more accessible location so that guests can get access to it in the future. However when it is connected the bandwidth is upto 12mbits - 10 times better than my BT connection in Derbyshire!
