About Samantha Smith
Hi, my name is Samantha and I own 4 holiday homes with my mum, dad and brothers. I live in Morpeth Northumberland with my husband and 2 boys. We have Shepherds Cottage, The Bothy in the Garden and our new one is Benthall House Ref: E17847 We are very fortunate as we are only 40 minutes from the cottages and love to stay there when we get the chance.
Samantha Smith purchased this Cottage in 2013
Why Samantha Smith chose Beadnell
We bought the properties as we love the Northumberland coasline and all it has to offer. Shepherds Cottage, The Bothy and Shepherds Lodge are situated on the outskirts of the village and they have their own private garden areas with views to the sea and the Cheviots, whilst Benthall House is on the seafront with fantastic sea views and walking distance to the beach They are ideal holiday homes to get away from it all.
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottages are in a fabulous location and are an ideal base if you love watersports or walking. You are near to Alnwick and Berwick towns as well as the fantastic coastline which includes Holy Island. Shepherds Cottage has a fully kitted out games room with pool table, full size snooker table, table tennis, dart boards and Nintendo Wii. In the garden, next to the games room is a BBQ hut for all year round BBQ's. Benthall house is a minutes walk from Beadnell Bay and across the road there is a great rock pooling beach. Great sea views from the lounge

A dream cottage in a fantastic area.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay at The Bothy, from the warm welcoming, beautiful views, the number of great adventures just on your doorstep and the comfort of the cottage we wouldn't change a thing (apart from a bit more sun!)
We cannot recommend this holiday cottage enough ( and have already told friends and families they need to book up!) we will definitely be coming back soon.
Small but spacious cottage - very dog friendly
Property was spacious and comfortable and every effort had been made to supply all we could want (and our little furry friend too). Some bits were a bit dated but the property owner is planning a freshen up soon.
Thank you for your review and your feedback. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay at The Bothy.
We have now currently updated the cottage by painting throughout, replacing the carpets with wood flooring and refurnished the lounge. I will be putting the new images on the website this week after our photo shoot and we hope that you like the changes we have made. In the meantime I will email you some images
Very comfortable, well equipped in a good location. About a ten minute walk to Beadnell beach.
Very comfortable accomodation, lovely welcome pack, wine, home made sponge cake and lots of goodies for our dog. Great powerful shower, just what you need after a brisk and breezy local walk. Lovely views to the rear of the property across fields and well set back from the road at the front. Very comfortable beds and kitchen well equipped.
Local walks are wonderful, further afield there are so many places to visit, we went to Hadrian's Wall, a long drive but so worth it, Wallington a lovely NT house, Alnwick Garden, Holy Island. Great places to eat and everywhere so dog friendly.
Despite very changeable weather we really enjoyed staying in this beautiful part of our country.
Thank you for your 5 star review and we are so happy that you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for all your feedback, it is good to know that we have catered well for your holiday. Sound like you had a busy time visiting lots of places and pleased that the property was a good base for you
Hope to see you again

On arrival we were met by the owner, Sam, very friendly, a lovely cake, wine and home made dog treats -all made us feel very welcome. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable, has everything you need. Near some beautiful beaches , hopefully will return again.
Thank you for your lovely review and it was lovely meeting you both and your beautiful border collie, hope he enjoyed the beach.
Hope to see you all again soon
Lovely cosy cottage in excellent location.
A great little cosy cottage fully equipped with everything you need for a weeks stay. We stayed with our two kids aged 2 and 15 and the cottage worked a treat with its excellent quiet location which was perfect to explore the Northumbrian cost. Sam was a perfect host and met us on arrival and the provisions of cake, milk and wine were appreciated as were other little things like providing beach towels, which though we didn't use thought was a nice touch. Overall a great stay.
Hi John, it was lovely to meet you and the family last week. I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and the welcome pack. The North Sea is a little cool so not surprised the beach towels weren't used! Maybe if you stay again it will be a little warmer
