We have Shepherds Cottage, The Bothy in the Garden and our new one is Benthall House Ref: E17847
We are very fortunate as we are only 40 minutes from the cottages and love to stay there when we get the chance.
Samantha Smith purchased this cottage in 2013
We bought the properties as we love the Northumberland coasline and all it has to offer.

We were 2 families sharing Shepherds Cottage for a sunny (but very windy!) week in Beadnell. The house is great, very well equipped, clean and comfortable. The owners took every care to make our stay extra special (including hand made treats for our guinea pig!) and there was nothing we lacked. The house has superb gardens a brilliantly equipped games room and a really enjoyable BBQ house that gave us many meals. Close to Beadnell (15 min walk in for the pubs and restaurant, 2 mins in the car) and the great beach. Can't recommend this place enough. We will be back!
The lodge is ideally situated just outside Beadnell, placing you in the heart of the coastal route and all the breath-taking sandy beaches and historic attractions.
The lodge is wonderfully placed, surrounded by fields (complete with little lambs during our stay) and sea views that you can never tire from.
It is spacious, light and airy and decorated/furnished to a high-standard. All three bedrooms are comfortable and a good size, so no haggling between the children needed! There's everything you could possibly need in fact, making it a relaxing home from home.
The owners were most accommodating and generously left a welcome pack complete with a bottle of wine, delicious homemade cake, dog treats and a basket of Easter gifts for our girls.
Together with our dog, who has been equally happy here. We will definitely be back!
We had a wonderful family stay here. The house is amazing, we especially loved the conservatory. The games room was well used and lots of fun. We had a fantastic evening in the BBQ hut. The beautiful Beadnell Bay is only minutes away. A perfect base for exploring the Northumberland coast or just to relax and get away from it all.
Just returned from our third stay at Shepherd's Cottage and, as ever, had a wonderful holiday in this lovely cottage - we forget how nice it is each time we visit. Everything we need for a home from home break and christened the new ovens by baking for our 'afternoon tea' and 'bake off' with the children. Even though the cottage is big we were nice and cosy and took advantage, on the day Storm Doris landed, of lighting the multi-fuel burner in the living room, lovely. Many a game of pool, snooker, darts and table tennis played in the games room with some winners and some runners-up! The cake and wine are a lovely touch too and didn't last long. Thank you Sam and family for everything and see you next year.
The cottage certainly lived up to its description with loads of space, all en suite bedrooms and a huge sun room where one can sit fourteen for dinner. The kitchen can also be used for meals with the Aga making it a very cosy room.
The games room is enormous and fully equipped with everything you need to entertain the children and the adults alike. The icing on the cake is the BBQ building where we enjoyed a meal in great comfort.
The nearby village has a friendly pub, a very good restaurant and a cafe which served lovely food. There are some great walks in the surrounding area.
Any small problems at the cottage were quickly resolved by the owners and I would recommend the venue without hesitation.
We hired shepherd's cottage and shepherd's lodge as a surprise getaway for all the family for my mams 60th birthday. We were amazed and delighted by this wonderful cottage. We had 10 people in the main cottage and 6 in the lodge but we used the cottage's cozy kitchen as our main base, the aga was fantastic for keeping us warm on a cold winter weekend. There's plenty of space in the cottage yet it still manged to feel snug and cozy. The games room was amazing and all ages were catered for. The cottage had everything we needed you can tell a lot of thought has gone into furnishing it, from dog beds to cricket sets there wasn't anything missing. The welcome gift of a homemade cake, bottle of wine and doggy treats was a lovely touch. We can't wait to go back.
