About John Henderson
I have lived in this beautiful area for over forty years. I was Resident Agent on the Croome Estate which has the National Trust Capability Brown Landscaped Park and Court of Croome at its centre.
John Henderson purchased this Cottage in 1989
Why John Henderson chose Malvern Hills District
My late wife and I purchased and converted our barn and the adjoining byre, as we had already lived in the area for 19 years. The tranquil surroundings and magnificent views across the River Severn to the Malverns are a delight and all this within easy reach of the M.5 and M.50 giving scope to see the Midlands, Cotswolds and rural Herefordshire.
What makes this Cottage unique
The delightful countryside with its long distance walks, the nearby River Severn, Jazz and regatta week-ends at Upton upon Severn, music festivals (Three Choirs in Worcester), literary, music and science in Cheltenham and national garden and agricultural shows at the Royal Three Counties Show Ground, Malvern. There are important tourist attractions in Worcester (8 miles), Tewkesbury ( 5 miles) and Malvern 10 miles) and Pershore (6 miles) is the home of the Royal Horticultural Society, based at the Horicultural College. The property is also on the threshold of the Cotswolds.

Perfect get-away location.
The studio was perfect for my requirements and had everything I wanted and needed. It has a very private feel and looks out on a beautifully kept landscape garden. John was extremely welcoming and hospitable. The added bonus was an incredibly comfortable bed. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and spent a good week exploring the surrounding area which is very beautiful.
Excellent property. Ideal location
Great location for sightseeing particularly Croome. Cottage is warm cosy and peaceful. Owner John very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend
Quiet Country Living
Nice stay, January probably not the best time to enjoy the property, but still had a nice comfortable stay.
Good to have you, Garry and Joanne. sorry the weather wasn't up to much for your stay.
A lovely cosy cottage. A warm welcome from John. The cottage was more than we expected. Very clean . Amazing bed! So big and so comfortable. Plenty of places to visit in close proximity. Upton on Severn ,Tewkesbury to name just two. The local pub The Rose and Crown just a walk away. Very dog friendly and excellent food. Would highly recommend .
Dog friendly studio, warm and comfortable in lovely setting with walks from front door.
Had a 3 night break with our dog and all felt at home here. Warm welcome from owner John and nice touch of complementary bottles of wine went down well after a long walk. Lovely area, visited National Trust properties Croome and Hanbury Hall which are both close by. Went for a meal at local pub, within walking distance, which was very dog friendly too.
What a super find. Lovely, quiet position. Friendly welcome from John. The studio was clean, warm and had everything we needed. Great for our 2 dogs as well. Nice pub close by which served good food. Will definitely go back when in the area.
