An authentic character farmhouse sleeping 17, is a typical Tuscan villa set in 14 acres of gardens and woodland above the Via Cassia, the old pilgrim road from Siena to Rome. The semi circular front garden gives a panoramic view of the ValD’Arbia and from the terrace we look across the valley to Montalcino famous throughout the world for its ‘Brunello di Montalcino’. Wine tasting and recommendations available as we are passionate about wine. This family home is both private and peaceful and little changed for generations. The villa developed from a farmhouse or wine fattoria many hundreds of years old. It became the summer residence and hunting lodge of the Crocchi, the principal family of the region who lived in the Castello in Torrenieri. Montelandi is our own home in Italy when we travel and not like the usual holiday accommodation we have known. In the summer we let the house to visitors and we have tried to remember our own holiday experiences and needs so you can enjoy the home to the maximum. The villa sleeps 17 in total, 13 in the main house with 4 bathrooms (3 ensuite) and 4 more guests in two double ensuites in the ground floor with 2 bathrooms.
There are a total of 9 bathrooms. Complimentary wifi included. We normally let the villa as one exclusive home for all 17 guests. For smaller groups please ask for details. Usually the farmhouse is let as one private villa with exclusive use of the pool for 17 guests. For smaller groups of 4 looking to rent please ask for more information.Claudio, who looks after the Villa, will be able to help you with any of your needs during your stay at Montelandi. Marieangela will prepare special meals and can also give cooking lessons, if requested in advance. The Herb garden below the kitchen provides a variety of herbs for the cook of the day, along with the vegetable garden and the orchard, which have seasonal produce and guests are welcome to during their stay. The Crete is an area where the land undulates like the waves and tall Cypress trees stand alone or lining the drives to houses and farms. It is great walking country, but, don't worry, you don't need a tour guide - just a map. If you are not a serious walker you can anyway access all areas of interest by car. The Vineyards are the special attraction of the area. There are many with tasting rooms and restaurants for the local wines and other local produce. There is also Horse riding, Tennis, Hot Springs and Beauty Therapy available locally.
