Villa Flayosc, Nr. Draguignan, Var, Provence,Cote D'Azur, France - Magnificent Views, Rural Location Yet Just A 15 Minute Stroll To The Provençal Village Flayosc
Villa Aramesh is a haven from the hustle and bustle of life, hence the name, which means tranquility in Persian.
Flayosc is a hilltop village. The villa is also situated on the hill, with truly beautiful views overlooking the Maures (the hills between Flayosc and the sea). This beautiful, well-equipped Provençal villa is located on a quiet country road within easy walking distance of the village.
The villa is in its own private, fenced garden (2000 m2) with electric gate access, allowing parents peace of mind.
There is ample parking to the front of the house, under the shade of the olive trees. The villa itself is a typical Provençal style, with beautiful cool, local terracotta tiles throughout and original wooden shutters at the windows.
The arrangement of the villa easily accommodates 2 large families or extended families, but also ensures privacy for everyone. However, it also eminently suitable for smaller groups due to its unique layout.
The villa is arranged in a U-shape, with 2 bedrooms on each limb. There are 4 good sized double bedrooms and one of the bedrooms also has an additional mezzanine, which is suitable for 2 children/teenagers over 8 years. All the bedrooms are on the ground floor, except the balcony room, which overlooks the pool and the Maures. All bedrooms have good-sized wardrobe and drawers. There are bathroom and toilet facilities on each limb of the U-shape, so all bedrooms have easy access to bathroom areas (3 toilets, 4 bathrooms in total). The layout ensures that everyone can feel together, but without the feeling of being on top of each other. We ourselves have stayed with our own and our extended family and found the arrangements ideal.
One of the bedrooms has separate access, which opens onto the covered terrace area. The bedroom remains part of and is adjacent to the house itself. Having its own toilet and bathroom, this bedroom is a great option for grandparents who may be seeking a bit of peace and quiet from the family chaos!
The beds are all from the UK (so are a good length). There is 1 superking (4 poster in the photo) and is in the balcony room (with en-suite bathroom). The are 2 king sized beds, (one of which is the sleigh bed) and a 1 queen sized bed. There is also a mezzanine floor, which has 2 single beds (suitable for children/teenagers over 8 due to the stairs access). All bedrooms also have direct access to the garden through full length windows.
Having had twins ourselves, we can also provide 2 travel cots, suitable for infants up to 3 years old, 2 high chairs, 3 booster seats, a baby rocker and a bottle steriliser for little ones.
One of the bedrooms has an ‘honesty bookcase’ in case you have forgotten to bring /run out of books.
The 2 limbs of the U-shape of the house are connected by the shared indoor living space of the living room, kitchen and indoor dining area with dining table and chairs.
The hub of the house is the beautiful, large tiled roof, covered terrace adjacent to the kitchen, which provides total shade in the heat of the sun and a cosy area round the BBQ in the evenings. The covered terrace has an outdoor kitchen, with a large BBQ and a large table. We love starting the day with a family breakfast looking over the Maures and find that we usually have all our meals here. Between meals we sit around the table for coffees, wine, reading in the shade and chatting around the table. The BBQ area and the pool terrace area are all one and the same (and on the same level as the house). So you can sit and relax and have a clear view of the kids playing in the pool no more than a couple of metres away. Or you can move to the sun loungers to catch some rays at the pool side.
The pretty, salt water pool (7x4m) has been recently refurbished and has a poolside alarm, compliant with French Law. The pool can be heated for out of season swimming. There are also pretty garden lights around the terrace and pool for those balmy summer evenings.
Under the covered terrace, you will also find an outdoor shower, with hot and cold water and a full shutter door allowing you to shower in privacy at the pool side.
The private, mediterranean garden is 2000 m2 and filled with over 20 olive trees, pomegranate trees, almond and fig trees and a variety of mediterranean plants. The garden is arranged in a series of typical Provençal restanques. The layout results in a variety of areas for activities or simply sitting in peace away from the crowd. There is a large 3m trampoline (with fixed safety nets) to the side of the house, with a large table and chairs und the olives trees for parents to have a glass of wine while watching the kids.
There is also a traditional boules court, outdoor table tennis table with table and chairs (Boules and table tennis bats etc provided).
There is a separate utility room, with washing machine, drier, drying rack, ironing board and iron. Outside there is a large rotary washing line, and in the summer clothes dry outside by lunchtime!
The living room has large french windows, which open onto the terrace allowing easy access to the house. The living room itself has comfortable sofas, television and an open fireplace. Home entertainment is of high quality with most European TV channels, DVD player, games console, stereo system, iPod dock with integrated speakers.
The Provençal kitchen is well stocked with plenty of crockery and utensils. In the kitchen you will find everything you need for a family holiday including a coffee machine, toaster, juicer, salad spinner etc. There is a large American fridge freezer, with built in ice dispenser for those summer days, dishwasher cooker and induction hob. The kitchen is adjacent to the BBQ area, which has both practical and social advantages!
We have set up the villa to be a home, not a rental property with all the facilities we would look for at home. We really hope you enjoy your stay here and find it your own home from home.

About Caroline Mofid
We are a somewhat cosmopolitan family being a mixture of British and German-Persian. We have lived in both the UK and Germany and are now based in Germany. We fell in love with Flayosc and the surrounding area over 20 years ago, when we came down on a family holiday. The area is so relaxing and beautiful and as soon as we come in over the sea to land at Nice Airport or drive along the A8 near Le Muy, I immediately feel at peace no matter what. We have spent many wonderful holidays in the village with our extended family and our friends. We find the locals really friendly and welcoming. We feel so at home here we decided to get married here at the Chateau de Berne in 2006 and also had out 10th wedding anniversary here in 2016. We now spend our holidays with our twin boys here every year. The boys are well known to the local villagers who spoil them at every opportunity! The boys love coming on holiday to the house and tell us every time we are here that they want to ‘live here all the time’. We really hope enjoy your holiday in our home and in this village, which we love.
Caroline Mofid purchased this Villa in 2012
Why Caroline Mofid chose Flayosc
This beautiful, well-equipped Provençal villa is the perfect location for your holiday, being ideal for large and small groups, families, extended families, and all age ranges from babies to grandparents. It is situated on a quiet country road within easy walking distance of the village of Flayosc. The 4 bedroomed (plus additional mezzanine) villa has the advantage of a lovely swimming pool (with 'abri' for the spring and autumn months) set in delightful well-stocked gardens. The house layout is such that everyone has privacy, but can feel that they are altogether at the same time. The fantastic covered terrace acts as the hub of the home and base for everything from breakfast outside to BBQ's and long evenings over a glass of wine. There is a boules court for that essential Provençal game and a table tennis table with bats and balls. There is also a 3m trampoline in the garden (with safety net). The lovely garden is well stocked and with beautiful views. Internally this property is a home from home with everything you would expect for comfortable living. Home entertainment is of high quality with most European TV channels, DVD player, games console, stereo system, iPod dock with integrated speakers. The location is ideal offering everything from walks in the country side, visits to wine Chateaux, coffee in the village, family BBQ's by the pool, active sports in the Gorge du Verdon, days at the beach or San Tropez, browsing through the many village markets or days in Nice, Cannes or Monaco or lazy days by the pool.
What makes this Villa unique
After 4 years of hunting for the perfect place, we loved this house at first sight. For us it had everything, being a classic, charming provencal villa with a lovely peaceful garden and beautiful views. But it also had good sized accommodation for all the family, extended family and freinds, plenty of bathroom facilities and great living space. We love the fact that the house wraps itself around the swimming pool area and that the pool terrace is on the same level as the house so we can walk straight out of the house to the pool. We also love the covered BBQ/outdoor kitchen, where we spend all our time chatting around the table and relaxing with a book or family meals. The garden and pool (incl. 3m trampoline, boules court and outdoor table tennis table) keep the kids entertained and active, but they are always in sight. In the evening we like to relax by the BBQ with the pretty terrace lights. We also love the village itself, which has everything we need and more, with the surprising number of restaurants. In addition, the great location of Flayosc means that trips out for the day to the beach, Nice, village markets etc are within easy reach and still allow time to get back for a swim in the pool. Most of all, I never tire of waking up and looking out at the beautiful view and thinking how lucky am I in this moment to be here and to see this.

Thank you so much for letting us stay in your lovely villa. We especially enjoyed the swimming pool and pretty garden areas - with a big thumbs up from our 3,5 and 11 year old for the trampoline too! We spent most of our days lazing by the peaceful pool surrounded by the spectacular views. Hope to return one day 😊
Thank you Jo - we are pleased you enjoyed your holiday in our home. It was a pleasure to have you and your family as guests and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
A large villa in a beautiful area
This is a large villa with a lovely swimming pool which was cleaned every Friday. Sadly it was too far for us to walk into the village but only 5 minutes in the car. The village is a social gathering place and we were made very welcome often stopping for a drink after a day out. The villa is ideally situated as there is plenty to do in the area.
The beds were comfortable and the linen was clean. More bowls in the kitchen would be good as we kept having to wash them up and there were only 5 of us! Also the bedrooms would benefit from air conditioning.
Thank you Caroline for regularly keeping in touch with us and answering our questions.
Thanks for your review Wendy. We are glad you enjoyed your holiday and enjoyed staying in our home. As you say the village is really friendly and welcoming. We love going there and we have always walked into the village. The children who are now 4 years old love the walk and I also used to push them in the double buggy when they were babies. I would agree it is not suitable for someone following recent surgery.
I am disappointed you struggled with the bowls as we stock the house for over 10 people and there is easily more than one item per head. I think you must have found the spare odd bowls we leave for kids as the adult bowls are part of the dinner set for 12. Its a shame you did nt mention it to myself or Jann during your stay as we could have pointed you in the right direction!
You were really lucky to have had heat wave conditions in June! We have air conditioning in the one room with the single long window. We have considered it in the other bedrooms, but they all have double french windows, which would need to be kept closed. We tend to find the french system of closing the shutters during the day and opening everything in the evening works pretty well.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Caroline and Amir
Great place in a great location
The property was great and even exceeded our expectations!
Really with all we needed and in particular we enjoyed the great covered terrace and the pool 3 meters from this.
The area was nice and in walking distance to the little nice village Flayosc.
Also we found the former track from Train des Pignes very close by and with a great walk to Lorgues.
Thank you for your review. We look forward to welcoming you as guests again in the future
A lovely Villa in a great location
We were 4 adults and 4 children that stayed here for two weeks in July / August 2015.
The house itself is great and really well setup with lots to do. We spent nearly all of our time in the outdoor kitchen which has everything you need including large table, built in BBQ and small sink. In addition it is about 2 metres from the pool so ideal to sit there and keep an eye on the older children swimming.
Flayosc is a lovely village and has almost everything you need including bakers, restaurants, and small grocery stores. Anything else is in the nearby town (10 min drive) of Draguignan. In addition you can easily drive from here to places like Monaco, Nice, Cannes, St Tropez, and Grasse, and there is a lovely waterfall and restaurants at the nearby Villecroz.
The team who manage the property and the owner are very responsive to any questions.
One minor recommendation I would make is for the owners to add air conditioning to the bedrooms (one has it already), allowing increased flexibility in where the children can sleep.
We stayed here with our extended family of children and grandparents. The grandparents particularly appreciated the studio with its own bathroom.
The house managed to provide us all with privacy and yet keep us all together at the same time.
The pool was a big hit wit the children.
As was the pretty garden, with boules court, table tennis table and trampoline!
All this within walking distance of the village with its many cafes and restaurants.
A perfect holiday!
We stayed at Villa Aramesh for 2 weeks in september last year, with our children. The children had lots of fun and did nt want to leave the pool!
The house was really clean and beautiful. The scenery was from your dreams!
The view was really fantastic, you can see the mountains from the house!
We felt totally at ease and relaxed.
We would love to come back again!
Travel: The villa is easily accessed by air (Nice 90 kms, Toulon 79 kms and also Marseille), TGV train (Les Arcs-Draguignan - 15kms) and by road (Junction 36 at Le Muy, A8). Car hire is advisable if you wish to take advantage of all of the wonderful villages, the Gorge du Verdon and the coast. However, the village with a huge variety of shops and services is only 15 minutes by foot so visitors may be self sufficient without transport. Distances: Flayosc is well situated with ready access to surrounding villages Lorgues, Salernes and Tourtour. The local town of Draguignan is only 8 kms away. The coast is easily accessible with St Maxime only 45 minutes by car and a short ferry crossing from here leads you to St Tropez. Flayosc is ideally located half way between the spectacular Gorge du Verdon and the sophisticated Mediterranean coast. From here you can easily visit Monaco, Nice, Cannes, Antibes, St Tropez, Marseille and the wonderful cities of Aix-en-Provence, Avignon and Orange are accessible too. Coast/Beach: The French Riviera is only a short drive away, including the beach resorts of St Maxime, St Raphael, St Tropez, Nice Cannes and Antibes. We like to drive to St Maxime on the coast (40 mins) and catch the little passenger ferry to St Tropez (this is also the best way to get to St Tropez as you avoid the summer traffic.) There is the option of taking the 'scenic ferry' route which is interesting or the shorter direct route. St Maxime is lovely sand beach for the children to play on. If you want a bit more luxury, you can hire sun loungers for the day at one of the on-beach all-day restaurants, (with waiter service at the sun loungers, showers and convenience facilities.) Alternatively, there are lots of good restaurants in St Maxime and all the other beach resorts. There are plenty of nice shops in the back streets of St. Maxime and a water park just on the edge of the town. Frejus - St Raphael also has a lovely beach and a large choice of Restaurants and can additionally boast a Zoo and Base de Nature (135 hectare Nature and Activity Park). Don't forget that there are also beaches at Lac St Croix which are much quieter and just as good if not quite as glamorous as the Côte d'Azur! Flayosc and Other Attractions: The village is well equipped with 2 local supermarkets (1 of which is also open Sundays and has a butcher counter), a delicatessen, an Italian fresh pasta shop (really nice things to take back to the house), 2 bakers, take-aways (including 2 pizza, 1 middle eastern, 1 Asian/Sushi and 1 Provencal Food), a pharmacy, a florist, several hairdressers, a beautician, 3 doctors, a dentist, bank, post office, an electric bike hire shop, 4 bars 3 of which serve food and (at last count) 8 restaurants! At the edge of the village there is the local wine Co-operative, Les Trois Collines, which we can recommend for your wine supplies! Opposite Les Trois Collines, there is a new kids forest adventure park. There are lots of great restaurants in the village - Fleur de Thym and L’Oustau are really good for a classic 3 course set french menu, Melissan is great for steak, salads, pasta and do single courses, Le Nid is my parents’ favourite! But they are all generally good and they all love kids. The local cafe bars also do excellent food. The famous truffle restaurant Bruno’s, is to be found in a nearby village only 15 minutes' drive away. The local town of Draguignan is only 8 kms away and has large supermarkets and a large variety of shops and restaurants. Provençal markets are held in the local villages almost every day of the week: Monday Flayosc, Tuesday Lorgues, Wednesday Draguignan, Thursday Bargemom, Friday Le Luc en Provence, Saturday Aups and Draguignan, Sunday Salernes amongst many others. Our personal favourites are the Lorgues and Flayosc markets (get there early as they all pack up at midday). There are of course many wine Chateaux nearby. The Chateau de Berne is in Lorgues. They have a snack-pizza bistro cafe down at the wine cellar (also have a 2 Michelin star gourmet restaurant at hotel on the evenings if you're feeling flush!). You can do quad biking and do cookery courses etc here if you are interested.. Our friends also recommend Chateau Font de Broc. She is an artist and often has exhibitions there http://www.chateau-fontdubroc.com The Gorges du Verdon is a beautiful drive and provides there are lots of activities including paragliding, canoeing/kayaking, rafting http://www.verdon-booking.com/en/paragliding.php and http://www.lesgorgesduverdon.fr/en/index.html. There is also a really lovely park, play area for kids, with a beautiful waterfall at Villecroze and I recommend it as a great picnic trip. http://www.villecroze-tourisme.com/english/caves-park-waterfall/ There are plenty of other things to do/ places to eat, but these are our favourites. I'm sure you will find your own. Or you can just chill out by the private pool at the house and enjoy the sun and the amazing view
