Situated in a lovely rural location yet close to the sandy beaches of both the north and south coast, the closest beach, Hayle, is 5 miles away and a favourite for surfing, water sports, etc. Its also convenient for popular areas such as St. Ives, Penzance, Lands End and the Lizard. There are many local gardens, attractions and coastal walks. White Stile has a large, beautiful garden in which to relax, with: a large lawn, lovely planting and several quiet benches to read a book or have a glass of wine. We have had many guests who have returned in following years and although we have not started do ask for online reviews we have a guest book which is full of really positive feedback.

About Jennifer Nolan
We moved here in 2005, love this cottage, love the location and love Cornwall. It took a while to sort out the land such as building the stables and sand school. The climate gives us the opportunity to grow semi exotic plants like phormiums, echiums and agapanthus (my favourite). We hope you will enjoy the house, garden and local beaches etc as much as we have.
Jennifer Nolan purchased this Cottage in 2005
Why Jennifer Nolan chose Gwinear-Gwithian
We moved to White Stile in 2005, we have had some great times here with family, friends and horses, ranging from meals, beach days, picnics, barbecues and horsey days. It's a great location with easy access to the best beaches, gardens and the interesting local mining history. We even dragged my 80 yr old Mum and 14 yr old niece down a mine and had a great day out! Its too big for us now and wanted other visitors to enjoy the cottage and garden. When the weather is good you can't beat the beaches, they compare with the Med. Even if the weather is not too good it is always warmer than the rest of the UK and there is always something to do out and about or just sit in front of the open fire and play games, read or just chill.
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottage is a quiet and peaceful escape to the country whilst close to fantastic beaches and local attractions. Cornwall has a rich and varied history, the cultural attractions of the Tate, St. Ives, local artists, galleries and the amazing open air theatre - the Minack. We will leave details for you in the cottage of all our favourite places to visit, eat out and the best cream teas!

Fabulous stay- would recommend to others 😄
We had an amazing stay- cottage very well equipped and very comfortable. Owner very welcoming. Would have liked a gate on the garden so the dog could run around without supervision.
Great location, lovely, well equipped cottage, friendly owner
We have just returned home from our first stay at White Stiles, the owner made us feel very welcome and the provision of biscuits was a nice welcome. White Stiles is in an ideal location, perfectly sited to explore the south west and south east coasts of Cornwall. During our stay we visited Lands End, The Lizard, Marazion (St Micheal;s Mount), St Ives, The Minack Theatre and Charlestown - just a few of the places we enjoyed. The cottage is very well equipped with a very large garden - ideal for sitting out or a lovely open fire for days when its raining or chllly. We will definitely be back for a return visit and were sorry to leave.
A lot smaller than the pictures suggest
Jennifer was very welcoming when we arrived, and allowed us extra time when leaving, which was very helpful when trying to get the kids ready to go in the morning. Thanks Jennifer. The house itself is not small, but a lot smaller than the pictures suggest, and is an old property situated directly on the road (not too busy). It was fairly well equipped and most things we needed were there. It’s fairly isolated and you will need a car, this was fine for us, plenty of parking and outside space, large garden to the rear where you access the property. It’s very dark at the back, and the lack of external lighting caused a few trips coming home at night, we had to make sure we had a torch. Beds in the twin room were fine, the mattress on the master bed was VERY uncomfortable - we ended up using the sofa bed in the lounge which was a marginal improvement. The house smelled very strongly of wood smoke - I guess some people like this, but not for me. Maybe the chimney needs a sweep? The broadband was pretty well unusable, and TV small (not smart, so don’t expect to use your Netflix login) not too much a problem for us as we were out and about a lot so didn’t spend much time at the house. It was reasonably priced in feb and out of season - I’d be disappointed if I’d paid peak season rates.
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback.
The master bedroom is actually the large bedroom which can be set up as a super-king bed or twin beds. The guests chose to give the larger bedroom to the children as twin beds so the parents had the smaller bedroom which has a standard double.
The property is a 200 year old granite cottage in a rural location, away from the hustle and bustle of a town. This quiet, peaceful location has no street lights but the cottage has adequate external lighting. There are houses on both sides so the cottage is not isolated and also has superfast broadband.
We appreciate some people may prefer something more modern and hi -tech, it's personal preference. We have a guest book with entries from over 100 guests with very positive comments. Also we have many guests who return year after year.
