Apartment, 53 m2, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, sleeps 2-4
Our bright newly renovated apartment is on the second floor of an historic palace or nobleman's grand house. Its high windows with carved lintels look out on to two of the most desirable streets in Nice old town. To one side is the beautiful baroque church of St Rita, with its pretty tiled belfry; opposite is a friendly, quirky, very Nicoise pavement cafe, perfect to sit and watch the world go by. Try the great restaurants on your doorstep or buy fresh market produce, stroll to the 'caves' for excellent, reasonably priced wines - then cook in our large, well stocked kitchen with its hand painted Italian tiles. The bedroom has original tomette tiles and two double beds: one has a beautiful antique carved headboard and the other occupies the mezzanine level. The living room has a large antique mirror, chandelier, swivel armchair and an L-shaped convertible corner sofa. Open the shutters and let the sun shine in on both sides of our lovely Nicoise Apartment.
Step out of the building's ancient doorway (type 'les portes medievales rue benoit bunico' into your browser if you are interested) and you are instantly in the city's historic heart, very much alive with the everyday comings and goings of its inhabitants, cafe culture, open air restaurants and artistic high spots. If you want to feel at the centre of things, lean out of the window and see the life of the old quarter at first hand, this is the place for you. The old town is probably not the place for an early night or for a quiet getaway. Very few people are not captivated by its bohemian charm.

Many thanks for a wonderful stay at your apartment. The location was excellent, and the apartment had everything we needed. We walked for miles every day and still missed a lot, so hopefully will make a return visit in the near future. Once again, thank you for all your help and thank Satu for us for being so helpful.

Beautiful character apartment in the heart of Vieux Nice
We loved this apartment from the moment we walked in. We were met right on time by Julie, who was very pleasant and helpful. Spacious, full of character but also enough mod cons to make for a very pleasant stay. We did a DIY market tour and cooked up some traditional recipes and the kitchen was fantastic for two to cook in. Loved the beautiful blue cast iron ware. A dream to cook with! Many thanks
Large, well equipped apartment in ideal location
Spent the Xmas week in Nice, weather was fabulous (16/17 degrees), the apartment is located ideally, right in the centre of the old town, on the 2nd floor, just off Rue de la Prefecture. The apartment is quite large, very well fitted out (dish washer, washing machine) with excellent double glazing which totally blocks any noise from the bars below. There are two double beds, one on the mezzanine, which were very comfortable, plenty of cupboard space and hundreds of TV channels and the wifi was excellent, fast and reliable.
The apartment has everything you could need, but the real reason for booking this apartment is the location, ideal for bars, restaurants and 5 mins walk from the sea.
Charming apartment in the middle of Vieux Nice
We stayed in Nice for the last 2 weeks of October and booked this lovely apartment in the middle of the old town. The location is ideal... truly in the middle of the old city, just a few steps from the market and surrounded with bakeries, restaurants, bars and cafés. The place is also just a few minutes from the Promenade des Anglais, the beach, and the park where the Nice citadel once stood. It's easy to sense the history of the place while enjoying this modern and vibrant city.
The apartment itself has a good kitchen and is well equipped. The place is very charming with very large windows that reflects the golden hues of other buildings as the light shines on them. It took us no time to feel at home. Having a separate bedroom and another sleeping loft area would enable 3 or 4 people to be comfortable.
Like other reviews before this one, I should note that this isn't an apartment suited to everyone. If you expect perfection or complete quiet, this isn't the place for you. The stairs going up to the apartment are challenging and uneven. It is noisy given that the apartment is located beside many bars, one of which is just across the street and is very popular until late in the night, and early in the morning on the weekend. The bathroom is tight and, here again, not suited to everyone. But these issues didn't matter to us... we simply loved the place and would gladly return and, in fact, plan to do so.
Excellent apartment in old town
Have stayed at this apartment twice and intend to stay again in 2017. I think that says a lot. The apartment has a well equipped kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher and plenty of hot water. It is well situated on the second floor of a very old building but is bright and modern inside. It is a few steps to the Cours Saleya market and there are a variety of shops and excellent restaurants nearby. The beach is also a very short walk away. Carol the owner has always answered my queries promptly and is very accommodating. Only one niggle, would have liked a freezer to store food as we have an extended stay but have managed very well without one so far.
Looking forward to our 2017 visit already!
Belle decouverte !!!
Tres beau appartement, idealement placé dans le vieux Nice. Près de la plage, des restaurants, du marché.... Beaucoup de charme et très bien equipé.
Beautiful, impressed instantly by this apartment.
If you want to get into the atmosphere of the old town then this apartment will do it. Surrounded by cafes and restaurants this place is ideal, you can let Nice absorb you in to its heart, or just relax in a cool airy apartment which has everything you need. I loved the two minute walk to the market on the morning to get fresh bread and fruit, we didn't want to leave. We will return again and thanks to Julie who welcomed us even though it was late evening.
Our charming apartment is situated on the corner of rue Benoit Bunico and rue de la Prefecture, a few minutes walk from the famous Cours Saleya and its fruit and flower market, where the wide sweep of the Baie des Anges is visible through the arches of the old town walls. You are surrounded by bustling restaurants, pavement cafes, museums, art galleries, theatres, jazz bars, magnificent baroque churches and winding lanes lined with little shops selling delicious Nicoise specialities and artisan wares. Next to the old town, the beach is free and the sea just as blue but further along the Promenade des Anglais are the grand hotel beaches where you can sunbathe in style with waiter service. Trams and buses are closeby, and for 1 Euro you can travel to medieval hilltop villages, such as St Paul de Vence and Eze, or visit Antibes,Cannes, Monaco. By train you can quickly be in Italy. Ferries from nearby Nice Port take you along the Mediterranean coast to St Tropez or across to Corsica. Ski: A number of resorts are accessible from Nice by car, train and bus. A dedicated ski bus makes it easy to reach resorts such as Auron, Valberg and Isola 2000 (approx. one and a half hours).
