Charming villa in typical provencal style with total privacy. Huge, mediterranean garden (5000 m2) with century old olive trees. Large (12x6m) pool and pool house with summer kitchen. Sattelite TV and WLAN. Sleeps 6 people and one child (1-8 yrs.). The beautifully furnished villa has a panoramic sea view from Cap Ferrat to the Esterel and is only 30 Min drive from the beaches and the Nice airport. Many top golf courses from Monte Carlo to Cannes Mandelieu are within an hour drive. Fully equipped Golf Bags (1 Lady/1 Gentleman) are available! The medieval village of Tourrettes is in walking distance with many shops, restaurants and charming bars. All famous museums (Fondation Maeght, Matisse, Renoir, Leger, Picasso) are near by. The mountains offer a wide range of hiking and walking paths. All this makes it a paradise under olive trees in total privacy. Ideal for families (parents, grand parents and kids) who love the french way of living in a typical provencal "Mas" and love shopping on the local markets for doing french cuisine.
We are a Swiss couple (65 yrs.) and live in Zurich. The Villa is our secondary home we rent to nice people only who appreciate privacy. We welcome those guests who care for well maintained interiors and treat them accordingly.
Frank Schiesser purchased this villa in 1997
This is the perfect place for living "like god in France". We do appreciate the privacy and the non-touristic ambience. The Villa is away from the summer heat at the coast and the crowded beaches and villages.
Tourrettes is the hidden jewel at the Côte d'Azur and close to art exhibitions and typical French food not too expensive although you find multistar restaurants near by if you wish.
The evenings are mild an calm. If you like entertainment, you may join the music festivals at Vence, Tourrettes or Juan Le Pin with all music stars form pop to jazz.
The main benefit is the cosiness of the villa in combination with a wonderful Mediterranean garden and olive trees which are more than 500 years old. It is protected from outside views and you can enjoy total privacy around the house and the pool, no need for swimmming suits!
The garden and pool have wonderful lightening to enjoy the warm summer nights outside till after midnight.
I've just done the review. Five stars! Hilary
Just to say we had a great holiday in your lovely house and what a wonderful village Tourrettes Sur Loup is too; like something from a fairy tale. Rory
It was indeed like living as god in France. Rose
Our thanks to Patrick who welcomed us and looked after the gorgeous pool and lovely Mediterranean gardens. We had fresh bread and croissants in the mornings if we wanted to ! Fresh fruits and cool drinks were appreciated upon arrival. It is a large and cosy holiday home, a tastefully decorated Provençal property, where we enjoyed the glorious sun by the pool and a great base from which we explored the surrounding area. We thouroughly enjoyed our holidays near Tourrettes sur Loup and wished to have stayed even longer. Finally, we thank Franck for his quick and helpful answers to our queries.
We recommend this lovely, well located, well maintained property unreservedly.
This is a lovely property and exactly met our dream of renting a stone house in the south of France! It is even better than the photos depict, beautifully decorated in a county French style with every interior comfort and amenity you could hope for. The view over the hills towards the Mediterranean, the pool area, gardens and patios provided a stellar outdoor experience. We were a family of four with two adult sons and were exceptionally comfortable. The house would work equally well for extended families with children or 2 - 3 couples traveling together. The location was ideal for our day trips into Nice, Cannes, Monaco, Antibes and Grasse. The charming medieval town of Tourrettes-Sur-Loup is minutes away and even better than the more touristy St. Paul de Vence. The owner's agent was very thorough, available and thoughtful. Communications with the owners were excellent and they left plenty of advice for local dining, shopping and excursions. Only thing to note: there is a well traveled road right below the property so there is some slight road noise during the day but very quiet at night; this did not bother us at all and I am usually noise sensitive. Don't even hesitate to book! We would absolutely return and recommend to friends.
We have stayed in several properties near St Paul and this was one of the best. Patrick was on hand to greet us on arrival, and we were made to feel very welcome. The views from the villa were superb, and we made good use of the extensive gardens and pool. The villa was also very clean and well maintained. We certainly hope to be back before too long!
We found the property very easily and were greeted promptly with keys and a full tour of what is a beautiful house and even more spectacular garden. All of our expectations were met or exceeded- the photos do not do justice to this property! Apart from an amazing lunch at La Colombe D'Or in nearby St. Paul de vence we made full use of the local supermarkets and ate by the pool everyday using the outdoor kitchen. We all loved the house, including our little dog and our children are already demanding we book again for next year.
I would like to mention the owner, Frank, who was extremely helpful and efficient from our first enquiry and always on hand, by email, during our stay with local help readily available if needed. I would not hesitate before recommending booking.
Our party of 2 couples spent 12 days in this lovely property in late May. The house and the grounds were better than advertised having all the furnishings and appliances required, a large and well maintained pool and spacious grounds with a barbeque. The pool is not heated, but this was not a problem in late May. The house was more than adequate for the four of us with an extra adult bedroom and a child's bedroom. Both the owner, Frank, and his local caretaker, Patrick, were very informative and helpful suggesting local tourist sites, restaurants and places to shop which was very useful to us as strangers to the area.
The local village of Tourrettes is a very pretty town and has small stores with all of the basic groceries and some very nice restaurants with reasonable prices. More serious shopping can be done in Vence which is only about 4 Kms away.
This property is an excellent base from which to explore the many attractions of the Cote d'Azur with the ability to retreat to a very peaceful and attractive rural location away from the crowds when you want a rest. With a rental car, which is needed, you are only about 30 minutes away from Nice, Cannes and Antibes and less than 1/2 that time from Vence and St Paul de Vence.
There was good wifi/internet access. We felt the property was very good value and would have no hesitation in recommending it to friends.
This is a very comfortable property which really feels like a home. The highlight is the extensive and beautiful gardens. On-site help is provided by a close neighbour. I would recommend it to a party of four adults although the garden layout recommends itself to children.
There is plenty to see and do if you can drag yourselves away from the pool and garden and there are some super restaurants and local food shops within 10-15 minutes drive. The village if Tourettes sur Loup is beautiful and unspoilt. The only slight downside is that it is not possible to walk there.
We had a super time and have recommended Le Mas to friends already.
