This finely refurbished property in a peaceful picturesque village is only ten minute walk from Cheddar Gorge and Caves, and an ideal base for walking and mountain biking in the Mendips and the lush countryside. Within easy reach of the areas many attractions. Wells, with magnificent cathedral and Bishops Palace; Wookey Hole, the renowned Clarks Village shopping outlet in Street, the resorts of Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-super-Mare, Longleat House and Safari Park and Bath and Glastonbury. Further afield lies Exmoor National Park with the famous resorts of Lynton and Lynmouth, joined by cliff railway. Fishing, golf, riding (2 miles) are available locally. Shop and pub serving food 300 yards.

The owners of The Orchard, James and Carole have lived all their lives in Cheddar. They live next door to the Orchard which is useful but are very discreet .They

can offer invaluable insight into places to eat, shop and

explore during your stay.

We take great pride in the decor and cleanliness of the

property. The surrounding gardens are well tended and

very colourful.

You will not find owners who are more passionate about their property or location. Somerset is a very beautiful County.


Why Carol Roberts chose Sedgemoor

The Orchard is a very large bungalow and underwent a complete refurbishment four years ago. It is beautifully situated in the heart of Cheddar. It is in its

own cul-de-sac with off road parking. The driveway has been tarmacked recently so everything makes for very easy access and walking.

What makes this bungalow unique

The benefits of staying at the Orchard are plenty. If you just want to relax it is perfect however if you want to have a walking holiday the Mendips are all aroud us.

We have plenty of opportunity for fishing, painting and there are numerous golf courses within a short distance of Cheddar

There are many tourist attractions nearby, Bath, Wells with its beautiful Cathedral and market days on Wednesdays and Saturdays. From there go on to Glastonbury and Street with the famous shoppinginn a restful setting. Longleat is only 40 minutes drive from us and is a very full days entertainment. Seaside resorts are Burnham on sea, Brean and Weston super Mare.

Notes on accommodation: Oil CH and electric inc. Cot. H/chair. Outside: Enclosed garden with patio and furniture. BBQ. Parking. Has it's own private garden. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen inc. The property is cleaned every Friday and is of a very high standard. We also have a very good display of flowers and both the outside and inside is in excellent decorative order. Other: There are two double bedrooms and another bedroom with three single bedrooms. The main bedroom has an en suite. The bungalow is exceptionally spacious and we pride ourselves on our cleanliness.

Excellent bungalow complemented with the friendly owners Carol & Jim

2 minutes walk into Cheddar great for exploring Somerset.

Only slight criticism was the cafes in Cheddar Gorge which didn't open until after 9.30 am a bit late for breakfast.

Would definitely recommend the property.

Our stay at the Orchard - Oct 2016

An excellent place to stay. The property was spotless and well maintained. All tableware, pots, pans, etc. were of very good quality and in an excellent condition. White goods looked like new and cooker was more than adequate. Property was very spacious with good quality furniture, carpets etc. The main bedroom is en-suite and with the additional family bathroom there is more than adequate bathroom facilities. Location of property is ideal for visiting surrounding points of interest and the property has excellent parking facilities with space for several cars. Description of property was very accurate and the owners were a delight to meet and proved very helpful in orientating us regarding places to see and sites to visit.

In all we had an excellent stay at the orchard and would highly recommend this property to friends, relatives and anyone else looking for a first class holiday let.

A Holiday Home to visit again and again

This is our third visit to Orchard Bungalow. As before we found the facilities in this well maintained, homely bungalow to be of a very high standard. My mother is 95 years old so it is important to know that you will find not only a friendly and helpful welcome from the owners but also a supportive one. To us it is a home from home.

I would not hesitate to recommend this bungalow to friends and relatives, indeed relatives stay with us while we are there.

Cheddar and the surrounding area is such a beautiful, interesting place and we very much enjoy visiting old favourite, such as Wells and Barrington Court. But even on a third visit we discovered new places of interest, Oakham Museun and Dyrham Place. I am sure there is still more to discover and I look forward to doing so.

Excellently located bungalow in a pretty village

We arrived in Cheddar after somewhat lengthy journey to be greeted by Carol (the owner) she was both friendly and extremely informative about the bungalow and surrounding area. The bungalow is very well maintained and is spotless. We were a family of 3 generations so the roomy layout made it an excellent choice. Cheddar is a lovely village with plenty of nice eateries and is well located for investigating Wells, Glastonbury, Street, etc. Would definitely recommend this accommodation to friends and family. Thanks Carol for a lovely holiday.
