Charming traditional Perigordine Farmhouse, accessed by a tree-lined drive on the edge of the village of Monbazillac. It is situated on a plateau surrounded by its own vineyards and woods, an idyllic private spot to sample the pleasures that the Dordogne has to offer. This beautiful property offers wonderful family accommodation with all the advantages of open countryside, while being in close proximity to Bergerac and all its facilities (10 min.). It has a 13 x 6 metre heated pool (fenced) with a large paved terrace complete with sun loungers, parasols, and shaded seating area. In the grounds there is a 4 metre trampoline with net, ping pong, football goal, swing-ball tennis, swings, bicycles, and inflatable toys for the pool. Suitable for children of all ages, and people of restricted mobility.

It is rare to find a property with no visible (or audible!) neighbours, and no roads in sight, yet only 10 minutes away from Bergerac, and all its amenities. It's a fabulous location.

A Wonderful Place for a Holiday

We have just spent 2 fabulous weeks on holiday at Les Croux. The setting in the Bergerac countryside is idyllic, but close enough to Bergerac itself to be able to find any amenities very easily. The accommodation is perfect; spacious, clean, very comfortable, everything you could possibly need, including fast wi-fi connection. The swimming pool and its surrounding terrace are fantastic and also well equipped with sun-loungers and sun-shades. The owners are charming and very helpful and looked after us wonderfully. We could not fault the holiday at all and will certainly return next year.

Further Details:

Monbazillac is in the heart of a region world renowned for its wine and gastronomy. Most evenings there are night markets in the area where you can eat at tables set up outdoors in the villages, and enjoy the balmy evenings. Monbazillac market is on Sunday night. There is a charming bar in the village, and a Michelin star restaurant just 3km from the house.

Ten minutes away by car is the town of Bergerac, full of shops, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, and of course, the beautiful old town (complete with Cyrano statues) and riverside port.

The area is also historically rich, littered with castles (for instance the Château de Monbazillac (1km) 3 minute drive) and bastide towns left over from the hundred years war (16th century). Going further back, there are prehistoric caves including the world famous Lascaux, discovered in 1940, containing over a thousand paintings.

The area also offers horse riding for the family, rambling, canoe-kayak, fishing, karting, bowling, laser play, and tennis.
