Beautiful property, would visit again 100%
We had a lovely time in Mevagissey last week. The property is in the perfect location, the views are incredible and there is a lot to do!
The Lost Gardens of Heligan are a short drive away, as is the Eden Project. There is a ferry on the harbour that offers a 30 minute trip to Fowey which is a great option for a day out! The little shops and restaurants that are located in Mevagissey are lovely and the food is fantastic!
The property itself has modern decor, plenty of amenities and everything you could need for your stay. We were missing a couple of towels when we arrived, we called the owners and within 20 minutes there were extra towels delivered to our door! I cannot recommend this property enough! We are already planning a return trip next year!

Had a great week, weather very kind. This property is at the end of the quay with gated access. Easy walking into village and some great places to eat and drink.

Exceptional house with parking and wonderful views
We have been staying at The Boatmans 2-3 times a year for the past 3 years. We watched the development during its construction and sooo excited when I found the house was available. Right beside the museum, the Boatmans works perfectly for us two couples all in our 60's. Meva has become like our second home. The downstairs is almost a self contained apartment. In the middle of the house is the lounge with terrace overlooking the harbour. Upstairs a beautiful en-suite double with French Windows and another fantastic view. Also a third twin ensuite. The house is always full of light and has wonderfully warm under floor heating during fierce Cornwall winters. We park the two cars never get bored with the easy level walk into Meva for all the restaurants and pubs. But perhaps the best bit is sitting on the bench outside the Sharksfin just watching the boats and fishermen with a pasty or ice cream.
we recently travelled down for our friends wedding week in mevagissey and they arranged all our accommodation for us!!! and ours here at the boatmans was just perfect!! in our group was 4 adults, 2 toddlers and a 3month old and this place offered everything we needed and views to die for!!!
the biggest plus being the parking, you will struggle to find anywhere in meva that has this as a major plus, without it you have to park daily at the main car park and walk to your accommodation, not easy with children!!!
as for the accommodation, it was faultless and has absolutely everything you would need for your stay!!! and we had the best time ever and the wedding was magical!!
would highly recommend the boatmans for a fabulous stay in meva!!
p.s they also own a smaller property in meva, called the saltings, sleeps 4, also has own parking and also to same high standard and similar amazing views!! this was also occupied by wedding guests and they had the same fantastic week x x
Special interest holidays: Walking is extremely popular in this area with numerous coastal paths leading from the village. Sea fishing and pleasure trips can be booked within the harbour (see owners website for further details). Fishing is also permitted off the harbour wall. Coast/Beach: There are plenty of fantastic beaches to visit in and around Mevagissey (some of them within walking distance of The Boatmans). Here are a couple of our favourites: 1) Polstreath Beach Reached via the coastal path just along from the property, by a flight of steep steps from the cliff top. 2) Porthpean Beach Popular family beach because of its safe bathing. Easy access on slight incline from the car park. Travel: The Boatmans, Mevagissey is situated on the southern Cornish coast, just moments away from The Lost Gardens Of Heligan and only 5 miles from St Austell and the Eden Project, making it an ideal base from which to explore this beautiful county. Distances: Newquay Airport 21 miles - St Austell Train Station 6 miles - Heligan 1½ miles - Eden Project 7 miles - Fowey 8 miles - Truro 15 miles.
