Perfect location with everything you need

  • 5 of 5

My partner & I stayed in the Carthouse for a week in May 2017 with our German Shepherd. The Carthouse has been renovated to a high standard & has everything you could possibly need. The views from the kitchen are stunning. Martha, Mark & the boys were very welcoming & there was an enormous freshly baked loaf of bread waiting for us on the kitchen table. I must not forget to mention Billy the dog who visited us daily to catch up with our dog. There are several walks directly from the cottage that join up with the Pembrokeshire coastal path. While there are several small sandy beaches within walking distance, our favourite is Newport Sands, which is a short drive away. It is the biggest sandy beach I've seen in the UK, is dog friendly & you can even park your car on the beach. The Carthouse is the perfect location from which to explore Pembrokshire & we hope to be back again soon.

Characterful cottage in wonderful location

  • 5 of 5

The Carthouse has been beautifully renovated and is equipped to a high standard. It felt light and spacious as well as being cosy and characterful. The coast and mountain views were stunning and it was great being able to walk to both from the cottage. It was a wonderful base from which to explore the area and Martha and family made it the perfect break for us.

A Haven of Tranquility

  • 5 of 5

We loved every moment, thank you to Martha & family (not forgetting lovely Billy) to making it all possible. Spotlessly clean, spacious, well fitted, warm, private, a beautiful aura around the cottage that is so welcoming. A bonus was the weather, blue sky & sunshine every day. It is local to the beaches, lovely walks in the hills plus easy to visit other villages & towns in the area. Flawless, may Mother earth evermore smile on you, we hope one day to return.

Gorgeous character cottage in a lovely area, well furnished, stocked with all the necessities

  • 5 of 5

We received a warm welcome from Martha and family, two and four legged members.

The Carthouse, surrounded by lovely views, was gorgeous.

The area is fantastic for walking and the views from the top of the hills are spectacular.

We used public transport to go to St Davids, and visit the beautiful Cathedral. there was a good bus service and the drivers were very helpful and very witty. Had lunch in The Bishops pub in St Davids and can recommend the food.

The locals were friendly and very helpful.

We had two days of good weather to get out and about.

We can recommend The Royal Oak pub & Castle Inn in Newport for food and friendliness.

Even when it rained in the evening we we snug inside The Carthouse.

We highly recommend staying at the Carthouse and the area and we will definitely be going back to stay.

Another great stay

  • 5 of 5

This is our 4th visit to the Carthouse in Dinas. We absolutely love it here that is why we keep going back and will do again as soon as we can. This week we had lovely sunny weather. We walked and read our books as we have done in the past and enjoyed the peace and quiet. We visited Jane's cafe in Fishguard for lunch and it was just as nice as the last time we were there. Taking home their home made jam and chutney - yummy. We have to thank Martha and Mark making The Carthouse such a beautiful cottage to stay in.
