With part dating back to 1703 this quaint Lakeland detached dwelling with fascinating Quaker history will delight those interested in antiquity. Enter heavily beamed sitting room with original oak panelling soak up the atmosphere created by a blazing fire. In the newer part can be found the kitchen and separate dining room. The simply furnished master bedroom and bathroom complete the ground floor accommodation. From the lounge a winding narrow stone staircase leads to the second bedroom. The hamlet of Mislet is a walkers paradise close to the ancient village of Troutbeck. For those who can bear to leave this peaceful haven the twin villages of Windermere and Bowness are close at hand with superb restaurants and pubs, theatre, gift shops and the Lake with all it has to offer.

Mislet Cottage - lovely

A lovely little cottage, set in a beautiful location. Not overlooked by others, you just overlook the countryside. It has everything you need. Close to Windermere, able to walk into the town. We took our 10mth old dog away with us. The cottage had a lovely, safe enclosed garden and super walks close by. The weather was good which was a bonus. The single beds are up stairs, would probably be best for aged 5/6 plus.

Beautiful and very quiet place

We rented it last week and can only say good words about this cottage. Located in a very quiet farm, nice views, close to Windermere, very comfortable beds (very important for us), and lovely owner, farmer James.

Totally recommended !

Changeover Day:
Normal changeover is Saturday however we offer short breaks depending on time of year and can therefore sometimes offer flexible changeover days.

Notes on prices:
Short breaks are available depending on time of year, also last minute discounts. Please contact us for more details.

Short break rates:
Please ignore Owners Direct pro-rata rates as this is not how our break prices are calculated as there are fixed costs like laundry, cleaning, heating etc which have to be covered. Ive asked them to remove the pro-rata pricing as it’s misleading but so far got nowhere with them.

Our out of season short break rates are calculated at 65% of weekly rent for up to 3 nights stay. 75%= 4 nights, 85%= 5 nights, 95% = 6 nights. For school holiday weeks our minimum rate is 80% of weekly rental for up to 4 nights stay, 90% for 5 nights stay and 95% for 6 nights stay.
