It will be of especial interest to walkers with the 34 mile Sandstone Trail no more than a few minutes walk away which takes in some of Cheshire's most beautiful countryside.

The perfect accomodation and setting.

Set in the beautiful grounds of the family home. Quiet setting, accomodation well equipped. The extra touches of flowers, wine and fruit were very thoughtful. Ideal for visiting Chester and walking. Lovely friendly family.

Quiet, peaceful, clean and very comfortable

We found the property excellent in every way and just what we wanted as it is conveniently close to our family. As well as towels and linen, Anna provided milk, wine, tea, coffee and fruit when we arrived, which meant we didn't have to rush out immediately. The property was very clean and well equipped and the bed was extremely comfortable. The kitchen area was also very well equipped, though we didn't cook as we were close to our family. Our grandchildren really loved the garden and all the play equipment and our granddaughter (who is only 20 months) loved the friendly dogs.

There are stairs up to the entrance so it would have been a problem for my sister, who is awaiting a hip operation, but it was fine for us. The countryside around is lovely, so it would be good for walks. It's close to Netherton Hall, where a previous visitor went to eat I understand. It's also a short walk to the A56, along which there is a half hourly bus service to Chester in one direction and Warrington in the other. I didn't look for bus stop though so I'm not sure how far it would be to walk to one.

We enjoyed our stay very much and have booked another for half term in a few weeks.

Pros: Well equipped accommodation, in a good location, with helpful owners and lovely touches like a fruit bowl, wine and milk.

Cons:Access could be a little slippy for anyone unsteady on their feet. Unfortunately cleanliness could be improved, when we arrived areas such as shelves and to stand were very dusty so had to clean ourselves.

Superb accommodation

Only a short stay to visit our family - lovely accommodation, super hosts who provided more than the basics for our stay - the fresh eggs were just delightful - thank you. When we are north again, we would definitely try and book again. Happy to recommend.

Peaceful Retreat

I stayed at the Coach House whilst on business and it offered a peaceful and private haven to unwind in at night. The cottage is exactly as described, clean, comfortable and has all the facilities you would require. Additional touches of a bottle of wine (most welcome!) and fresh eggs from the hens in the garden helped make the stay even more enjoyable. I would have no hesitation in returning to the Coach House for either business or pleasure.

Nice compact place

The place is nice, the owners are kind and flexible. Lots of sweet touches like flowers and fruit on arrival.

Was a bit difficult to keep the carpet clean as we had the dog with us and it was quite muddy outside.

Fantastic place to walk and nice pubs with good coffee and food.

Ainsdale Beach (26 miles) - Sandy, dune backed bathing beach boasting the oldest iron built pier in the country, with a nature reserve adjacent. Village with facilities nearby

Formby Beach (27 miles) - An unspoilt wilderness of a beach, run by the National Trust and with a nature reserve adjacent. Not the best choice if you're looking to swim etc., but lovely for exploring.

Old Colwyn Beach (40 miles) - Great for waters sports, sea fishing and sand castles, cycling and hiking.

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: Coach house is located within the grounds of the main house (Borrowdale). It does however have a good degree of privacy and seclusion from the owners and neighbouring properties. Whilst there is space for car parking, if guests are travelling by other means then we can arrange taxis etc to transfer to the Coach house. Outside: Even though the owners house is nearby, the coach house enjoys a great deal of seclusion with a sunken patio and small grassy area to the side. There is a patio table, chairs and parasol, charcoal BBQ and rotary washing line. There is dedicated parking for 1 car (more can be accommodated if required) with a cobbled path leading up to steps up onto deck area and access to front door. Guests are welcome to wander in the main garden which is a mixture of grass, trees and orchard. The garden is completely fenced and is ideal if you are bringing a friendly dog with you! Utility Room: Guests have access to workshop below kitchen (accessed from outside) which houses washing machine and tumble dryer. This is also a place where pushchairs. bikes etc can be stored if required Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen and towels included. initial supply of toilet rolls,washing up liquid,bin bags,tea,coffee,milk,(logs in winter,charcoal in summer) are provided at the start of your stay. Our chickens eggs available subject to availability! Beach towels at cost.
